what a great mum you are east york mum xxxx

teabelly · 17/11/2005 15:05

Afternoon ladies

Thanks for all the welcome backs - feels like I've come home! right that's it with the slushy stuff! ...

EYM - how lovely - you know your lad best and I'm sure it was the right thing to do - wait that is, now he can deal with his issues when he can understand and properly vocalise them

Lua - glad your dd's birthday went so well - and dd's intended has a tooth already I'm impressed

Giddy - if it's not too late can I join in with the card sending? my niece with Down's was 16 last month and I just can't believe where the time's gone! Read through some of the posts I missed and hope I'm not bringing up old stuff for you about Leona's birth memories, but I think (and I know it's really really corny) but I really do feel that special kids are born to special families. I know it's true of my sister and I'm positive it's true for you too. Fucking hard at times but you wouldn't be without them Blimey I said no more slushy stuff, and look at me away again...

Muma don't feel bad about the jars! I'm a really bad mummy and give dd jars all the time I've tried the make your own puree stuff and she's not interested, but give her a jar...and life's too short to get hung up about this stuff

Skyler - spooky about your dream - could you have one tonight about me winning the lotto on saturday, so I don't have to go out and find a job in the new year

Mrs W - lol at the napping routine - that's me and dd!!! yesterday she only had an hour all up before bedtime, thought she would sleep well last night as a result, but nooooo we had the worst night in ages - have promised to try and put her down (in the nicest possible way!) more often

Am finding it very important to watch what we say infront of ds atm - it's like having a blinkling parot in the house This morning's conversation...
me - 'Luke be a poppet and ask daddy what he wants for breakfast...'
ds - ' Dad (too grown up for mummy and daddy at 3!!!) Dad, Mum says what do you want for breakfast?
dh - 'ohhhh, toast I think'
ds - 'what do you want on the toast?' (well trained already!)
dh - 'marmite I think'
ds - 'well that's bloody rediculous, you'll have cereal just like me!'

we've both denied being the guilty culprit, but I've a sneaky suspicion it's me

Right best finish now and go to collect him from nursery or he'll be the last little one there again!

Skyler · 17/11/2005 18:09

Hellooooooo
EYM - Is there anything else you are coping so cheerfully with at the moment. Between you and Giddy I feel in the company of amazing women (and the rest of you of course .
Mama3 - Sorry things are dragging on for you. Rant away on here. I call this my therapy sometimes. Just writing it down makes me feel better.
Welshie - When do you actually start back at work? Hasn't the time flown! I am glad you feel positive about it all, although I know you will miss your lo's too. It strikes me you have a happy balance though.
Tea - Oh it is good to have you back again with your no nonsense parenting! You make me feel normal/human again.
Giddy1 - Try not to worry, I am sure you have no reason too really. I love your new name and think it suits you really well!
Well I am exhausted again. DD2 was up so much last night I lost count and don't even know where to start to turn it around. DH is on nights again now so I think I will just get her in with me if it happens again. He leaves at 5.30pm, just after dinner leaving me with bathtime, bed time and washing up. Then we have to try and get out of the house so he can sleep the next day. It seems it might be easier to have him away again. At least I wouldn't have his washing and washing up to do lol.
We went shopping today and I have decided I hate it. We only went to two shops and the dd's were really good, but the shops were too hot, everything seemed very expensive and they had no tights in either of the dd's sizes. Sigh. I am hitting ebay next. We did buy dd1 her first duvet cover though as it is nearly time to put the duvet on her bed. It has princesses and castles on and was the one she chose so will do for now. We have booked our flight date now. We return to the UK on the 8th February! Hooray. I am really looking forward to it now. Well that is all for now.
KVG, Charley and Lippy, hope you are OK. And any others.......

Skyler · 17/11/2005 19:00

What do you think of this as something other than a chocolate calendar for Christmas. Too expensive or good value?? I am so out of touch!

muma3 · 17/11/2005 19:24

troublesmummy · 18/11/2005 11:12

Morning all. Feel like a big fat bloater today, so am quite fed up. However, dp and i have worked out my new fitness regime which starts on Monday, so can't wait for that.

I have to go back to work in 2 weeks, and i'm really not sure if i'm looking forward to it or dreading it. And i'm feeling really fat and like i can't face it to be honest. Dreading Christmas as i'll probably put another 6 stone on then. God i'm depressing. Sorry (PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER WOMAN!!!!!)

Ds is as beautiful as ever. Infact, i just can't stop kissing him at the moment. I have to make the most of it, as i'm sure it won't be long before he tells me off for kissing him. At the moment, it makes him smile. Bless his little cottons

killiemum · 18/11/2005 13:00

Good afternoon ladies just wanted to introduce myself, just found this site today, hope you don't mind i feel like a bit of a gate-crasher.
My dd is 5months old but i'm sure you could have worked that out since i chose your thread . I know what you mean troublesmummy, i'm feeling a bit on the mitchellin man side too but i keep telling myself it was well worth it and it will come off eventually(maybe not of its own accord though).
I was wondering are most of you weaning already? Dd doesn't seem too be too bothered about it yet.

muma3 · 18/11/2005 13:30

hi killiemum , i have started to wean but that doesnt nessacarily (sp?) mean that your ds is ready. i have 3 dds and my 4y wasnt interested and didnt start eating meals til she was 1!!!
saying that she is a very fussy child now lol
your ds will when he ready hun xx
has he got teeth?
how much does he weigh?
just being nosey

muma3 · 18/11/2005 13:31

opppppppppssss dd lol
sorrryyyyyyyy
xxxxxxxxxxxx

killiemum · 18/11/2005 13:58

Hi muma3,

She is teething now I think, very red cheeks, hands always in mouth - no teeth yet though. I think she is about 17lbs (not been weighed by hv for a while).
Just wondering as she only has 4 x 7oz in a day but she sleeps 12 hours or more if allowed at night. Sorry that was not a complaint I know most mums would kill for that . God don't want to sound like I'm showing off either .

Skyler · 19/11/2005 17:36

OK where are you all???
Good job we have the newbies to join us or this thread would have died lol.
Katz - Well done on winning the competition! Very exciting hey?
I feel I have had a tough couple of days. Dh might as well not be here when he is on nights, in fact I might be better if he wasn't as then I wouldn't have to feed him and wash up after him lol. DD2 has been up ALOT and dd1 is a bit confused about it all as Daddy was away then back and then away again....so she is playing up a little too. Just tired that is all and that of course makes everything seem worse. I know I am lucky really as I have no real worries, but do feel worn out.
As such I am going on line shopping!
Take care all.
P.S. Well done on the Xmas shopping Giddy. All mine have to be posted by next Friday so I have mine too, but still have to wrap them and parcel them up.
Oh I forgot a good thing. My friend who used to live here (you might remember the one who I wanted to look after dd1 when I had dd2 but who got posted back tot eh UK) had a baby girl yesterday. I am so thrilled for her. It is her third but has been a hard pregnancy with lots of stresses along the way. Fantastic outcome though ]

have not yet started present shopping but have made lists.

later making new batch of mush.
dd been having 1 or 2 tastes of solids a day, she really likes it but i wish i had waited the full 6months. still i plan to go on breasfeeding for at least the first year so not too bad i guess.

I am going to get that advent calender then. I like the idea of the finger puppets. I want a nice wooden one with little ornaments really but they are £50 and will not yet be appreciated by the dd's so that will have to wait.
I am buying pyjamas for dd1 now. Nice traditional button up ones from Jojo.
