Envy of Elle at Cadbury World!

Right heres that poem -

Baby Song

From the private ease of Mother's womb
I fall into the lightened womb.

Why don't they simply put me back
Where it is warm and wet and black?

But one thing follows on another.
Things were different inside Mother.

Padded and jolly I would ride
The perfect comfort of her inside.

They tuck me in a rustling bed

  • I lie there, raging, small, and red.

I may sleep soon, I may forget,
But I won't forget that I regret.

A rain of blood poured round her womb,
But all time roars outside this room.

I didn't have a sweet tooth at all until DD1 and it has stayed!

I like that poem Ponyo especially the "small, raging and red" bit!

ElleB1980 · 07/05/2011 21:26

ponyo Don't be jealous...feel sorry for me. I'll be looking like nine months pregnant when I get back to work with all the choc round the office!

wiggles You're in NI right? I wonder if you get Irish CDM or British. The recipe is different. I LOVE the Irish Boosts.

I've never tried crisps and chocolate but can recommend McD's fries dipped in McFlurry courtesy of an ex. And when we got taken over by Kraft I suggested Dairy Milk pieces dunked in Dairylea as a new product. It was probably one of the first signs I was pregnant...

janedoe25 · 07/05/2011 21:43

debka im so sorry you are having a rubbish time of it, I don't have anything else to add, the other girls have said it all. I am here holding out my hand to you if you need it.

Well my diet and health is out the window, i just drove to the shop for some chocolate and it was FAB!

ILovePonyo · 07/05/2011 22:00

Thats the bit I liked wandering! Made me smile.

Elle but I am jealous, I've been averaging an easter egg every couple of days until recently Blush Interesting about the different recipes.

Good for you jane, no guilt just yummy chocolate! Grin

ledkr · 07/05/2011 22:14

Oh Elles.brum is my old stomping ground, best mate lives in Frankley and we were regulars in broad st at one time. I get all nostalgic when we go there as soon as i hit the hagley rd i start "oooo we stayed there we went there" etc etc. We are having a big weekend in glos in October for my b'day. Went to cad world when D was 2 wks old,we only had 3 peices of chocolate and could had had a small holiday for the price to get in,i am a galaxy fan myself.
What a boring saturday night, nothing on tv,sober as a judge what is the world coming to?

ledkr · 07/05/2011 22:14

not glos brum of course

wigglesrock · 07/05/2011 22:27

ElleB Think we get pesky British chocolate Grin, know that when we head down South, we stop and get chocolate the minute we cross the border, well not so much a border more a road!! When my mum and dad used to go away for the weekend, they used to stop at the shop and spend the rest of their money and bring us back loads of chocolate - well we deserved it, we used to spend the weekend with my granny, snoresville when you're 14 Grin

My sister used to work in a bar in Broad Street, small old world Ledkr.

Right I'm knackered, paying the price for Anna being up at 5am, Mr W is on Anna duty tonight Grin

ElleB1980 · 07/05/2011 22:29

ledkr Would you believe me if I told you'd I'd never been out on broad St? I've been here nearly 5 years as well! Obviously I've been out round Brindley Place and the Mailbox although Snobs is my favourite! I keep saying I'll try Gatecrasher on Broad St though - I'm from Sheffield and that used to be my club of choice as a youngster.

Sorry to the rest of you for the boring Brum ramblings...maybe we should all crash ledkr 's birthday bash now you all know about it!

Grannyapple · 07/05/2011 22:37

Hi ladies...lots of posts..so will try to surmise best I can!

Jane I guess you have some more questions than answers now....but at least you have some answers now from the hospital...

slow N still not going thru the night...is tres annoying as most of the nct group have had theirs go thru the night from about 6 weeks...damn them! Tho someone said boys take longer then girls...hmmm not sure about that one.

ledkr yeah N has been inhis own room since 8 wks (now 10wks old)...we all sleep better as a result (quality..not quantity it would seem). Main reason was the hot weather the other week, but also meant me & dh got some bedtime action...at last!

debka I know u r considering the girls first & foremost, but u also need to think about u. My parents divorced when u was 13,after years if violence between the 2. Was bloody difficult at the time & I remember my mum having no money & having to borrow food from a neighbour for dinner...cos my dad didn't pay the maintenance on time. I have no idea how mymum did it or managed..but me & my sis are so thankful that she had the courage to get out of the relationship & maintained a bit of dignity in the process...she too didn't want us to see that that is how marriage is/was. Mum died 16yrs ago & dad 17 yrs ago...only found out when she died that dad didn't really want kids (was in divorce papers)... I have an amazing Hubby who dotes on me as I do him,but I do think things may have turned out so differently if mum hadn't taken the action that she did...

Sorry for the long story...but just wanted to let you know..as others have said, he needs to be aware of how you are feeling & that things need to change ... If he wants the relationshipnto work...equally he too is going to have to open up about it...

ledkr · 07/05/2011 22:40

ooo yes we will be at miss money penny;s but will start at roccoco.i have had some very funny happenings in brum,we were in the mailbox once and a bloke asked if i wanted a drink,of course i said yes,he then asked what was in it for him?I replied sarcastically " a smile? a thankyou? " he didnt get me the drink but my mates were in stitches cos it was a very very famous footballer who fancies himself a bit-i felt so cool haha
My sister lived in brindley place too.

ledkr · 07/05/2011 22:46

Envy at grannys bedroom action.D woke up last time we tried and im far too house proud to be messing up my nice sofa haha Sorry to hear about your parents granny. My boys are staunchly proud and protective of me since i booted out their excuse for a father,i have never slated him they made up their own minds. New and improved dh is a great step dad to them helps them with jobs and moving house etc. I would never again stay in an unsatisfactory marriage but also appreciate how hard it is to leave and stay in some cases.

MizK · 07/05/2011 22:50

Wow what a busy day on here you've all been chatting loads, can tell we all stay in on a Saturday....
debka your DH sounds v much like my ex. I spent 8 years trying to get him to be nice to me (his idea of love was to buy me presents when he upset me... Needless to say I have a good shoe collection and lots of bad memories). It was only when I ended it that he woke up but it was too late. Sounds like your DH is used to you crying and getting upset if he can ignore it, so maybe you need to take a different approach? I know its so hard when you love someone and they take you for granted, big hug for you xxx

On another note, I hate you all for talking about chocolate. Had a tuna steak and salad for dinner and am actually starving, but need to accept it if I want non chafing thighs and/or a waist ever again.
ledkr I think you should invite us all to your lost brum weekend and show us brummie virgins what were missing.... Actually I bet a weekend on the lash with you would be too much for a delicate flower like myself ......!

ElleB1980 · 07/05/2011 22:58

ledkr Watch yourself love - I'll be stalking you round Brum! I haven't had a night out dancing for years! DP is out in Manchester tonight and I'm well jealous. Spent the evening trying to organise my social life over the summer. I was very nauseous for my 30th last summer so planning to have a few nights out this summer now I'm able!

granny I'm officially on a diet but have forgone most food today so I could have a couple of glasses of vino this evening!

Right, off to bed for me...fingers crossed for sleepy babies

hubbard86 · 07/05/2011 23:36

ledkr i used to go clubbing in brum, broad st occasionly but mostly the gay village as i was a huge fag hag Grin
My netbook is still yet to arrive Angry and my ceiling is leaking double Angry Angry am sitting listening to the plonk plonk of water into a bucket.

Deb kick the plonker up the bum, let him know what you need.

Glad you enjoyed your choccie jane, i am a little bit addicted to classic magnums at the moment yummy.

ledkr · 08/05/2011 07:09

hubbard-i was a fag hag too,D's gf is a drag queen i cant wait to see pils face Grin
All most welcome to join me on my birthday-if you can keep up that is Grin
Nice to know im not the only one still blobby-oh the inner thigh chafe ouch,i wore shorts under my dress when hot. i have been quite good this week no wine or choc bit of davina and gym looks like ive dropped a few pounds but i hope it wasnt just dehydration from being sick.cant wait to be thin again, d awake at 6am is sat in bed with me,on the opposite side,no cuddles ha.geadache still lingering like an old boyfriend.

tadjennyp · 08/05/2011 07:13

Blimey, I haven't even made it into bed yet and you guys have got up already! On the fat front, I would like to get out of my maternity jeans and wear something normal for a change! S is 13 weeks old, fgs! Grin Night all!

WanderingSheep · 08/05/2011 07:33

Had a teensy tiny lie in this morning! L went from 8.30 till 6 instead of her usual 9 to 5.30 Hmm. When I woke up she was just lying in her Moses basket kicking and grinning, so cute!

Debka hope you have a better day today! Smile

WanderingSheep · 08/05/2011 07:36

Hope you get some sleep Jenny!

Has anyone seen Needto recently? She hasn't posted in a while. Hope she's ok!

ElleB1980 · 08/05/2011 07:45

Well, R has just has breakfast and now I'm sorting mine and her bottles for the rest of the day. She slept quite well again so I'm wondering if it's her daddy that's waking her up early ;)

I get the leg chafe too and have several size 14 clothes that don't really fit. Don't feel like I'm dropping weight even though I'm sticking to the plan. Think I need to up the exercise but that's so much easier said than done!

Bensmum76 · 08/05/2011 07:50

Debka, I can only echo what the other ladies have said. I really hope you are ok. Most men, my dh especially, are blind to any kind of upset or emotion that they need it spelt out.
I'm chuffed this morning as Noah discovered his thumb last night! We swaddled him in his new pod and he managed to get his left hand out and was sucking away from around 4am! So cute to see!

tadjennyp · 08/05/2011 07:58

Am going to bed now, was just chortling at the weird things dp does thread! Hope you have a better day today Debka.
That's really cute Bensmum.

debka · 08/05/2011 08:17

Hi everyone, thanks for all your thoughts and wise advice- think hubbard summed it up with kick the plonker up the bum! I was thinking about the letter idea, I'll have a go at writing it today and see how it goes.

S woke for a feed at 3.30, then 5, then 7, although she wasn't really hungry at 7 I fed her best I could anyway. I'm happy to feed her for obv reasons but I can never properly get back to sleep, it's too hot in our room and I have a snoring plonker in bed next to me Grin good job it's a big bed!

I am doing NOTHING about losing weight, in fact I made a batch of coffee cupcakes yesterday entirely for ME. I might let my 2 yr old have one. Might.

All you Brum girls I'm jealous, would love a night out with you. We should definitely gatecrash ledkrs party, we'll know which one is her, there'll be a trail of disappointed celebrities behind her! We run shows in Hagley and Himley but we are always too knackered and child-ridden to do anything but just go back to the hotel and bed at the end of the day, so all I've seen of Brum is the inside of a Premier Inn Grin.

Think I might take S with me to church today and leave DH with DD1. Be good for all of us I reckon.

BM I knew you'd end up with a thumbsucker like mine :)

tad I'm glad I'm not the only one still in mat jeans - I felt a bit Blush and alone

ledkr when you said you were in the mailbox for your birthday it took me a while to work out you didn't mean the red boxes where you post letters Shock Blush Wink . I'm a bit slow today -I blame lack of sleep.

deb just to reiterate what others have said re: DH. Does he know how much it upsets you though? IME men really do need these things pointed out and to be told what your needs are as they seem incapable to work these things out Confused . If he knew you were crying and ignored you that is inexcusable though.

hubbard poor you for the leaks :( I love classic magnums too Grin . I keep wanting to try this new choc coffee one they advertise but must resist...

wandering hugely Envy or your lie in - I've been up since 5. Alice just not settling and seems constipated/in need of a big poo. I'm in contact with needto but haven't heard anything for a couple of weeks which is unusual - am getting a bit Confused - hope she's OK. Will let you know if I hear from her.

It's my 30th later this year - maybe we should all have a big mn party Grin (or at least an online one with lots of Wine or Brew , and of course a crate load of Biscuit.

ledkr · 08/05/2011 09:49

ladies-step away from the mat jeans, i was still wearing mine until last week but they look terrible, too soft to hold in the flab,i bought some size 16-grrr-primani cheapies and feel much better in them.My theory is that psychologically if you feel thin you will eat thin.
Wandering-my shred hasnt come, apparently they r out of stock must be all us fat mners buying it.What is it like?
