Aww poor old dd kept crying in her sleep while she was sleeping on us earlier, actual crying with bottom lip out, having flashbacks to her jabs I think! Was tres cute (to borrow a ledkr phrase Grin) so dosed her up on calpol before bed and hopefully she'll sleep ok.

reastie are you a Rebecca?! I am going to check out these baby einstein dvds, we said when I was pg "no telly for baby" and bow she cranes her neck looking at the tv when she's on her playmat Blush Although my excuse is I have progs like the blue planet on so she's learning haha.

deb I agree S sounds well cute, Confused about the sicking but I suppose as long as she seems well generally thats the main thing?

ILovePonyo · 11/05/2011 21:38

Now not bow Hmm

hubbard86 · 11/05/2011 21:48

we had such a good bedtime i managed to get both tom and freya into bed and asleep by 7.30 and i managed to do a healthey tea of leek and bacon pasta italiano which both dh and ds ate and asked for seconds which is strange as i normally have to make 3 different meals.
freya is being so clingy i left her with her dad so i could take ds out for lunch and she screamed the whole time until i got home. i felt so guilty for leaving her that she got so upset and angry not sure what she's going to do when it's our anniversary in june and she's staying with her godmother so dh and i can go for a meal and get drunk

ledkr · 11/05/2011 22:42

Rosemary East angels? That sounds like a teachers name.
deb you know what if she is happy then i wouldnt worry shes just a sicky baby, will go off when weaned. Dilly defo has reflux but is loads better on the meds but never really cried with it,just unsettled, that is unusual tho,i think she has dh's laid back nature, she never ever cries now apart from if you are slow with her bottle.
delias gaviscon does make for solid poohs and i aggree with the clean nappies and i hardly use any wet wipes. Try to get her to take alittle water daily.i give her a syringe or two after ive used it for her meds.I have afeeling D is growing out of it now tho.
I took her to see my Nan today who is 89,she is so frail now and loved seeing D who performed beautifully squealing and chatting.
D has been really sleeping today,do they sleep when have a growth spurt?
I am ashamed to say D is the latest of ,my brood to go swimming,i took them all early.I am too scared to put my fat body on display but am going to buy a nigela style burkinimore flattering cossie and take her next week, dirt is going well,i find the less i eat the less i want to eat,and ive had no wine all week,
hubbard D doesnt seem bothered who she's with yet as long as they have milk.
bensmum hows my favourite little limpet today?
wiggles Ella does all the running around here and is often on pram pushing duty, she loves it.I also use the tv,Dilly loves the night garden btw.

wigglesrock · 11/05/2011 22:54

Ledkr Ooh Nigella's cossie was bad, wasn't it, I took dd1 and dd2 swimming over Easter, wasn't too bothered about the costume but have really let the old personal grooming go a bit. Really need to spend some time tidying up Grin

I think I can remember reasties' first name from Zoes Sands page, but I am giving nothing away, not without bribes, weighed myself today and am less than I thought so am still happy enough.

ledkr · 11/05/2011 23:25

well its rebecca then. My personal grooming is fab,im waxed and tanned all in a desperate attempt to detract from dimply size 16 figure.I love the m and s ad for their hold your belly in costume-modeled by Lisa Snowdon,oh yes i can see its a miracle!!! Morons. Now if it could hold this belly in id be happy. Can reccomend Davinas post natal tummy exercises,i can see a difference already!

hubbard86 · 12/05/2011 06:42

we have had our 1st through the night, freya went from 7.30 - 6, she fussed a bit at 3 but i just shoved her dummy in gave her a dummy and she soothed. Am now gonna attempt another couple of hrs sleep as dh has ds and f might sleep in my bed night night

reastie · 12/05/2011 07:29

ponyo it's not rebecca Grin
ledkr it's not rosemary Grin

I was all about not letting alice watch any tv when I was pg too....just don't see how I'm going to manage it so may as well give her something I can class as educational Wink . we had an all singing all dancing areal put a few months ago but can't pick up cbbc/cbeebies - sure that will be an anoyance in a couple of years Confused . Today I need to do super good clean as have all DHs family over for lunch at week end so am hoping baby einstein works well again today so I can get on. Sad alert - I've finally got my hands on black leading and can't wait to make all the fire places look lovely and clean Grin

ledkr I read up on growth spurts a while ago and apparently it can affect different babies differently but some go really sleepy for a day or so to conserve all the bodies energy to grow.

lol at noah ( bensmums ) being a limpet. It reminded me when my sister was little she used to grab onto my leg and not let go so I had to drag her around the floor to get anywhere and she'd say 'i'm a limpet i'm a limpet'

ledkr I thought exactly the same thing about that m&s advert. If it really works so well why don't they get someone with an actual stomach in need of using it to show how well it works Hmm

big big Grin to hubbard for the sleep. Am very Envy . Been up since before 5 here AGAIN . Yawn.

ledkr · 12/05/2011 07:51

Wow Hubbard, thats good news, hope you are sleeping now.
D slept 8-6.30 so really good,i keep waking up with a headache i think cos ive got black out blinds firmly shut thus no fresh air.
I have never been stressed about tv-where else can they see animals in their natural habitat etc.None of my dc's are tv addicts and Ella hardly ever watches it despite me trying she would rather play or do dancing.
reastie what are your issues with pil? I have imagined one day getting into convo with dh's brother or sisters partner to compare nores-i have afeeling they feel like i do,but probably wouldnt risk it.
When i met dh his sisters bf was disliked as he didnt go to the family "do's"
This was before id realised there was a do for every single event and that in the mean time pils felt i their right to visit often with no or short notice regardless of their dc's partners. I have a feeling im not alone, They havent tried to come for ages and dh is working most weekends now so dont know when we will see them,I will have to start planning for half term soon, dont mind afew days but am not having them here a week waiting for meals and hogging my bathroom.

reastie · 12/05/2011 08:01

ledkr my PIL issues are nothing compared to yours so can't make much of a fuss but it is really frustrating/annoying/concerning me. Tbh I'm a little scared of giving details on here incase she hunts me down to this thread and finds out what I've written. Since I've got rl piccies of alice up on my profile I feel a little like somehow she might find me and despite my stresses want to keep everyone happy in the family. Is that a bit insane?! It's a shame we can't just lock in thread members and keep it all private so we can really let rip about things/people. But, suffice to say there are issues and I'm getting really fed up as, amongst other things she's quite manipulative (whether she realises or not) so they way she puts things/goes about her business means I can't discuss this with DH without me seeming like I'm the one making a fuss over nothing.

ledkr · 12/05/2011 08:21

Gosh i never thought of her looking on here!!! Tbh id love to be able to put on here how she has made me and dh feel in a non confrontational way and hope someone does it to her daughter one day. Feel free to pm me if you do need to sound off,i will give you an honest opinion,im good at that. I felt a tiny bit bad the other day cos i think i probably have suceeded in making them feel like they dont want to come here but then i thought about the night i bought Dilly home and thought "nah,it was her fault" if she had done as we asked and respected my feelings then they would have it easier,I had abig heart to heart with dh a while back and told him their behaviour had contributed to my depression and that even MY OWN mum didnt intrude like they had,he aggreed and i felt better for saying it,i know its hard for them but I have 3 ds's and they all tell me if im in the wrong and i respect them more for it but then im not defined by my chidren

Has anybody's baby got strawberry marks? Dilly has a small one on her head and 2 big ones on her body,im not concerned as they go as they grow but if one more person comments on it before they say how pretty or sweet she is i will drop kick them Grin

ILovePonyo · 12/05/2011 09:06

Morning all, congrats on the big sleep hubbard :)

Seems our days of good sleep are getting less and less, dd was waking and fussing from 1.30am onwards Hmm

ledkr dd has a strawberrry mark on her side, it was white when she was born, then went bright pink then all raised up. She's also got blue spot on her bum, i love it think it looks so cute. doc and hv's always ask if its been made a note of in my red book incase anyone thinks I've been dropping her on her bum and bruising her Shock

I can't think of any more names beginning with R reastie!! Rhianna?! Grin I've felt a bit worried about PIL or anyone else tracking me down on this thread, but then think (hope) for me its pretty unlikely, hope I'm not proved wrong!

Grin at Lisa Snowdon in M&S advert, I've been watching old episodes of britains next top model as its on in the day, god she's an annoying bint isn't she.

Deliaskis · 12/05/2011 09:09

Ledkr C has a strawberry nark on her thigh. they said it would fade so I'm not worried, and it's quite hidden anyway. The funny thing is, I'm sure she didn't actually have it when she was born. I only remember noticing it mid week 1 when she had nappy rash (silly MWs telling me not to use cream), and it looked the same, but that bit didn't go!

Debkr C has acid reflux which is painful as it burns their throat. It's called 'silent reflux' as it doesn't involve loads of chucking up. However, normal/non-silent reflux babies are often referred to as 'happy chuckers' as they vomit all the time but don't seem to mind. If she is otherwise fine and happy, then it's just a laundry issue for you. If it means she is not gaining weight etc. then it might be something that needs managing.

reastie I have my own MIL issues this morning. She had her overnight last night, because I had a singing engagement that I had committed to and DH was working late. It's not the first time and we're really grateful she can help out, but I just rang her this morning to discover that all her feeds are messed up as she had to wake her and feed at 6 because she was taking FIL to the airport. So poor C got woken up and hauled out of bed, fed, and driven for half an hour to the airport and back again, when if I had known, I could have picked her up on my way home at 10.30 when she is in a deep sleep, got her home, done her dream feed and put her to bed here. It's annoying because she didn't mention anything about it. Grrrrr.

Anyway, DH has today and tomorrow off work because he's going away Sunday for a week to an exhibition, so we're off to try and enjoy the day and get C back on track! Actually we have second jabs this morning so I'm not sure C will enjoy it so much...

D

MizK · 12/05/2011 09:35

agree with the Lisa Snowdon thing... ooh look at our magical swimsuit that an make a size 10model look good...impressed much?
reastie is your name Rumpelstiltskin?
ponyo let me know if baby massage is good, think a sure start near me does it but actually there is a waiting list, need to know if its worth the wait.....
Cass was invited to her first party yesterday, a friend at baby group is having a garden party on Sunday and theyve invited loads of us from group. I kind of dont want to go as although I like them I havent exactly clicked with anyone as yet...still on best behaviour if that makes sense! Do any of you get that sense that its all a bit of an effort with other mums sometimes? Not on here though obv!
We are attempting to go to baby sign language in a min, will report back!

wigglesrock · 12/05/2011 09:41

Morning all, ledkr don't you dare start to doubt yourself re pils, their behaviour when you brought Dilly home was awful, especially when you were so worried and she was so ill. How very dare they?

reastie you can set your profile pics to mumsnet mates only, you type in the usernames of those you allow to see them, I use it, you just have to remember to add names or if anyone changes their username you need to amend the list.

All 3 of the girls have little strawberry marks, dd1 and 2 on their legs and Anna on her bum Grin

deliaskis have a lovely day, good luck with jabs, Anna definitely better with the 2nd ones

wigglesrock · 12/05/2011 09:52

mizk god yes, dd1 has been in primary school for 2 years and I would see mums at pick up times etc, still on best behaviour with some of them. Some of them were a bit Hmm when I told them I was pregnant with Anna, lots of inappropriate questions like "oh was it planned?" Shock

We have the school fete this Saturday and I am praying dd2 doesn't start on her latest obsession, willies, "mummy, did you know boys have willies?", "little boys have little willies, big boys have big willies" etc

ponyo Annas' sleeping not great at the minute, up a lot, looking fed!!

reastie · 12/05/2011 09:54

alice wide eyed staring at baby einstein shakesphere dvd Grin - very well educated she is - learning shakesphere already Wink

delia Angry at your pil. i hate how other people don't realise how important routine is. even my dh doesn't get it.

wiggles might do that re: private profile. Did you write out everyones usernames from this thread then?

It's not rhianna whoever suggested that and it's not rumplestiltzskin
(although that would be rather Grin if it was )

mizk completely understand what you mean re: not clicking and feeling bored of polite chit chat. was talking to a friend yesterday about this as we both can't be bothered so much to make polite conversation always. It's always the same thing too - aww isn't she sweet, what's her name? how old is she? does she sleep all night? is this your first?

Just sent ledkr and excessively long message re: my PIL - think it will take her all morning to read Wink - be glad you all were spared the agony :)

hubbard86 · 12/05/2011 10:00

i've just woken up and freya is still asleep so i'm getting lovely cuddles. Bloody dh has turned the wifi off so i have to use my phone. My fil still hasn't seen freya as he refuses to apologise. His loss not theirs.

wigglesrock · 12/05/2011 10:27

reastie just use everyones name from the last stats list, that's most of us on this thread and then you can add anyone else you want.

If we're on the subject of in-laws, think bil might be back to huffing again, I assumed that when they came to the christening etc, it was all behind us but we have been making a real effort to keep in contact and have had no word back at all. Not really sure how someone can stop huffing, then re-start, mind you its been almost twenty years since I left school Grin

Ps - reastie I like your real name, it was always a sneaky favourite of mine Smile

Deliaskis · 12/05/2011 11:00

reastie LOL at DH not even getting the routine thing. Have just got in from jabs having marched back at some rate to get bottle for C, and DH (who has today off work) was stopping and meandering and reading adverts on the village notice board etc. I confess I am a bit anal about routine only because she has been sleeping through for ages and it's the one thing that has helped me feel sane.

D

Deliaskis · 12/05/2011 11:06

Also understand about not clicking with other mums. I was a bit Hmm at first but am starting to click with a couple of the girls a bit now. We have just swopped numbers and are planning to meet up next week [yikes]. Meeting other mums is a bit of a doubel edged sword though, because sometimes it helps to know you're going through the same thing, and sometimes it makes you feel much worse if they're so much 'better' than you. It's completely unscary on here tho!

Dx

Bensmum76 · 12/05/2011 11:22

Ledkr, my little limpet is fine thanx. Last night wasn't too bad. My alarm went off at 11pm to feed him but I went back to sleep instead then he woke at 11.40 and gulped down 160ml! He then was stirring at 2.30 but I left him as he was sleeping on and off then went into him at 3.30 and 4.30, and ended up with him in bed with me from 6. Not too bad. Ben is staying at in laws tonight so m going to try leaving Noah to moan for a bit longer as I not have to worry about Ben being woken up.
Reastie, what is your rl name?!

reastie · 12/05/2011 11:30

shall I give a clue then? Well, you know it begins with an R. It's a biblical name and I think there is some kind of chocolate bar in america called 'baby r-(my name)-'

delia hope you have a good time with the other mums next week. I haven't met any new mums that I've clicked with enough to want to invest time with. That sounds utterly terrible doesn't it? Hope C is OK after jabs. DO they give 2 again?

Cleaning going slowly as baby einstein has reached the end of excitement for now Hmm

wiggles your BIL sounds very odd. Best leave him to his own strop I'd say.

hubbard86 · 12/05/2011 11:41

i found it really hard to get on with other mums when i had ds. I started talkin to a girl at the hv who looked a similar age and we are now the best of friends. I was maid of honour at her wedding and she's godmom to ds. Talking to her gave me the confidence to talk more to other moms and start doing the playgroups.

janedoe25 · 12/05/2011 11:42

I have just read all the posts i missed and have'nt taken anything in, so sorry for not replying to anyone Blush!

reastie i love your real name too, but i am bias as it is Zoe's middle name!

Hope you all have a good day, im having a sofa day as the rain is bouncing off the ground here!
