I liked the CRESH acronym more than FESH so have used it. Welcome all ESH to your final stop on the journey. Rest your aching lady bits, try one of the many gin based cocktails, and try to molest the gorgeous waiting staff.

curly when JB flew klm with bear we read t&c, bear was entitled to hold baggage and also parents entitled to changing bag on top of normal hand luggage. As he was carrying bottles they made him taste, jar too big but security ignored in light of unbroken seal.

Cosmosis · 03/05/2011 09:12

Mostly it is Drom, but it doesn?t work for everyone. I think it depends on how many night feeds you do or summat.

muse imo you are doing the right thing. She will naturally decide when it?s time to sleep earlier. Artie certainly did. Clusterfeeding is good, as like you have discovered it tanks them up for the night. You just need to get him to run around after you while you sit on the sofa watching telly. And become an expert at eating one handed!!

Muser · 03/05/2011 09:44

I am already an expert at eating one handed. Although she does usually let me eat my dinner now. Since we got her a highchair she likes sitting with us at the table and watching. As long as I don't leave dinner too late that is.

Right, I am meant to be going to the local park to do some buggy fitness class. Assuming it does actually exist, I didn't get round to checking.

Morning y'all,

Have had a lovely weekend with HI and MB. So nice. Looks like things are on the up. Let's hope they stay that way. Had three full days of dining in and out with friends and generally enjoying time together as a family.

MB still stuffing his chops and is now into toast and had Weetabix and banana today which he was not too fussed about so will try with apple or pear next time. Wrt to junk/fast food aka Ella's pouches and Shiz I reckon he should be on stage 2 which includes meat and is textured but the packs say not suitable before 7months. He is 6mo and one week. WWYD?

Cosmosis · 03/05/2011 10:59

do it, it's just the texture and if he's ok with fingerfood etc it will be fine. TBH they're not much more textured anyway!

CUNextTuesday · 03/05/2011 11:40

Do it. Rastus eats the 12 month+ ones. Tis only a guideline. They don't have massive chunks in anyway.

AlpinePony · 03/05/2011 11:44

I was wondering about the salts rather than lumps - anyone know? Most of the time he gets homemade and am blending less and less.

Cosmosis · 03/05/2011 11:58

What sort of texture are the 12m ones CU? The stuff we make Artie at home isn?t as runny as the 7m stuff we buy.

Certainly for the 7m, the salts won?t be any different to the first stage stuff, not sure about the 12m

CUNextTuesday · 03/05/2011 12:08

Actually only a bit lumpy, nothing dramatic. Rastus has 5 teeth though, which he loved to rmploy at any opportunity . I made him a lightly spiced biryani last night with basmati rice - went down an absolute storm Grin

AlpinePony · 03/05/2011 12:20

I gave him broccoli last night, he gave me pretty much the same look his father does when I smuggle it in to food. Hmm

Broccoli, mash, bit of browned mince, spoonful of low-sugar, low-salt baked beans. Trumptastic.

Anyone having booger issues? We have two green rivers of snot - was wondering if it's pollen related. 'Tis truly a beautiful site.

We resumed relations at 2.5 weeks I think it was, despite my cervix/vagina playing no part in the birth - it did feel a bit "different" inside at first from my pov. Felt like things had moved. Everything back to normal now though.

medee You're the expert - if I were to buy the cbfm from amazon, does it come with a thermometer & bits or do I need to go and buy a load of other kit seperately?

SilverSky · 03/05/2011 12:39

Fanks peoples! Stage 2 it is! I've also got him some DNA my stuff like the carrot puffs which look like wotsits and Ella's cookies. They also say 7mo on. Only finger food he has had so far is toast. Gonna try cucumber later - how thick should the strips be?

Off to baby massage again. Let's hope it actually runs today as only I pitched up last week!

CurlyCasper · 03/05/2011 12:50

Squeaks has no teeth but happily eats all sorts. Last night it was a home made sausage casserole thingy: Balls of sausage meat, diced carrot, spud and parnsip. She scoffed the lot using her fingers, then nabbed some pitta bread.

Cherry tomatoes and grapes also go down well. I honestly don't know how she does it.

And yes, alps the snot taps are well and truly on constant. I've stopped looking for reasons. Could be pollen, could be bog standard germs. She's also dribble tastic (the raspberries are back) so I am covered in slime most of the time. She wakes up in the morning* with a face/head covered in snot crust. Yuk.

*morning, night, middle of... coughing again and sore gums

Organix carrots sticks are a clear fave here. And whole banana. silv Cucumber never really gets eaten, just gnawed on.

Cosmosis · 03/05/2011 13:17

Artie loves cucumber, but mostly it just gets sucked to death (no teeth)! I just do the stips so they fit in his fist iyswim.

Okiecokie · 03/05/2011 13:23

Alps from what I remember the cbfm monitor comes with a pack of sticks to piss on. They you have to buy additional packs if you don't get a win. Cheapest place was Amazon.

Medee · 03/05/2011 18:15

b alps
no thermometer with it. I think Okie is right, it comes with a pack of sticks, then you buy extra packets. And yes, Amazon def the place to buy it. Sometimes comes up on Ebay too.

CurlyCasper · 03/05/2011 19:37

sorry alps, forgot to say thanks for the travel tips. Ours states explicitly that infants do not have a hand baggage allowance. But do get 10kg hold allowance that you don't pay extra for plus two of pushchair/travel cot/car seat for free. All her stuff for during flight can go as SFFs hand luggage. Mine will be full anyway with all my drucks etc! And on the thermometer front I got a Baby Mad one for v little on either Amazon or Ebay.

Medee · 03/05/2011 20:17

Lost Ebay auctions, but had just ordered sling- looks like we are in for another evening of constant soothing.

SilverSky · 03/05/2011 21:01

Anyone else following Annabel Karmel weaning guide? Some of the recipes are mad! Talk about corden bleu!! I'm going to attempt to try the meat recipes and make them thicker than the previous purees I've done.

When you cook and then freeze meat stuff, after I defrost overnight can I microwave the food ? If so for how long? The book doesn't tell you.

CUNextTuesday · 03/05/2011 22:09

Well i always did, but make sure it's piping then leave to cool.

CUNextTuesday · 03/05/2011 22:10

Betweem 30 and 45 seconds

Cosmosis · 03/05/2011 22:12

yes I do, um just till it's hot! about 30 secs?

AlpinePony · 04/05/2011 08:16

How long is a piece of string? Confused Depends on the strength of your microwave, size of portion & temperature. I just shove it in and touch the bottom of the pot, stir, shove it back in until it's steaming, then squish it up high around the sides of the pot so it cools quickly. Don't let him see it in preparation - your life will not be worth living! Wink

Tonight he's having mum's homemade bolognaise (need to get rid of all the slighly limp veggies in the fridge), I will not blend any of it. He's also having pasta swirls rather than spaghetti - he sucks them in and then chomps until they're dead. Grin

I ordered the Shag Dictator from Amazon. I see they also sell the male testing kits for concentration and mobility. (Given his father's attention span, concentration may well be an issue! Wink). Did any of you manage to get them to JIAP for a home test?

Okiecokie · 04/05/2011 08:56

Alps the threat of having to JIAP micraculosly resulted in a win for me. Funny that...

Cosmosis · 04/05/2011 10:50

lol, it did for us too!

AlpinePony · 04/05/2011 11:08

Horsey ESHes - am I hopelessly out of touch or would you spend 75 cocking quid on a polo? Hmm Joules
