I liked the CRESH acronym more than FESH so have used it. Welcome all ESH to your final stop on the journey. Rest your aching lady bits, try one of the many gin based cocktails, and try to molest the gorgeous waiting staff.

just give it and hover in case he chokes - but remember gagging (noisy) is good and something they need to learn, choking (silent) bad and needs fixing. ARtie has only choked once. He is v funny wiht the pincer grip, he very delicately picks up the raisin or whatever with finger and thumb, and then hoves his whole fist in!

okiecokie · 25/05/2011 21:51

silv, happy to chat. With regard to what mini o eats, you would be amazed at what you can get! Biggest issuse is wheat free bread products as most contain egg and that is a no no too.

FannyPriceless · 25/05/2011 22:01

silv For finger food we tend to do lots of long thin stuff, e.g. carrot batons (steamed until a bit floppy), beans, thin broccoli florets, toast fingers, etc. Well that's the theory. Yesterday Bonnie was having fish fingers so I tried to delicately cut up one for Clyde into thin slices - only the little monkey grabbed the entire fish finger out of my hand and shoved it in his gob!

curls Wahey on Squeaks walking!!Grin Don't worry about shoes - bare feet is best. Next best is Robeez soft leather pull ons. They are fine for a walking baby indoors. We only got shoes for Bonnie once she needed to walk outside. Her feet were very small though so only Clarks cruising shoes would fit. (No such problem with Clyde sdale .)

The Priceless house is remarkably calm tonight given that we made an offer on a house today and it is still up in the air. We went up 5k, they came down 5k, we're still 5k apart. Should we stand firm or give in?

It is an ugly brick semi ex farm workers cottage untouched for 30 years, downstairs bathroom etc. But surrounded by farmland, edge of village, crying out for extension, amazing views, neighbours have just put in stable block and bought 10 acres for horses, there's a riding school across the lane, we may have a chance to buy an acre at the back of the house... wwyd?

Next thread: 'The CRESH spa and creche: we ALL deserve crap ham' ?? Grin

Medee · 25/05/2011 22:06

Definitely, fanny!

FannyPriceless · 25/05/2011 22:14

meds Definitely buy the house or definitely new thread title?Confused

CluckyKate · 25/05/2011 23:12

Can you afford and extra £5k FP??? Can you afford to lose it??? Is planning permission for an extension a possibility??? I'd go up a bit more for the right place but am crap at haggling and ver impressed you negotiated them down.
At the end of the day (oh God, I sound like a footballer) it sounds idyllic - it's only money and you can't take it with you.

Like the thread title. Am drinking crap wine.....I kinda like it Confused

Medee · 25/05/2011 23:59

Oh I meant the thread title, but if you van stretch it sounds too good to miss out on. Then again, if no one else is.bidding, sit tight.

AlpinePony · 26/05/2011 06:42

fanny I'm a bit of a property bear and I'd say hold firm, unless It's been on the market 20 minutes and you've heard excited chitter-chatter in the shop about "everyone" who wants to buy it. It's all well and good saying "it's only 5k", but "only 5k" is a pony + equipment + gin for mummy for over a year (I'm using a third of a bottle per week calculation so could be off). So what I'm trying to say is see if you can hold your nerve, prepared to let them sweat? "Only 5k" is going to go a long way towards the kitchen - although I do realise of course that most people have way more money than me. :) Kate raises a very good point though - is planning permission "in the bag"?

I too was thinking something along the lines of CRESH: For the type of mother who deserves crap ham.

Definitely crap ham.

SilverSky · 26/05/2011 07:04

It's only ever crap ham in this house. Crap wine. Crap bread. Crap crisps. The lot. Still the gin is Hendricks!!!!!!

cokester will call you. Thx.

fp if it were me I'd try hard not to throw the extra £5k at them!!! So my advice would be offer £2.5.

CUNextTuesday · 26/05/2011 08:14

Ah rice cakes! I recall fondly the time they were phthooed all over the living room carpet in disgust. This is despite me forcing it into his mouth and clamping my hand over it saying 'EVERYBODY ELSE'S BABYBEE EATS RICE CAKES AND FINGER FOOD. YOU TOO WILL EAT RICE CAKES AND FINGER FOOD YOU CONTRARY LITTLE SOD'.

If it helps silv Rastus infinitely prefers to be spoon fed - he manages toast n honey and slivets of pizza (kiddie, not dominos) but i could never vouch for his calorie intake as i hoover most of it up. When i think on.

AlpinePony · 26/05/2011 08:24

cunty Rice cakes aren't eaten here either and if you put something "nice" on them it simply means they stick to the floor.

Wasabi peas went down OK. He pulled a face with each every one but ate them.

Cosmosis · 26/05/2011 08:46

He fecking slept through!!!!! now all we need to do is convince him 5.15 is not proper morning

Artie likes ricecakes, the freak.

CurlyCasper · 26/05/2011 08:57

Well done Artie!

I'd hold back on the walking congrats all, I've yet to see anything that resembles steps, and fear SFF might have got over-excited about some "falling with style" Grin

Squeaks got bored of ricecakes pretty quickly. She scoffed an oatcake yesterday though.

fanny love the thread title. As for the house, do you know if anyone else is after it? How long has it been on the market? I guess you have to try to judge how desperate they are to sell. Good luck!

I bought nice ham in M&S yesterday.

Cosmosis · 26/05/2011 09:02

crumpets a favourite in this house too, and scotch pancakes.

CUNextTuesday · 26/05/2011 09:05

Oooo crumpets! Yes, i'll put them on the shopping list. To be topped with crumbly Lancashire cheese.

CurlyCasper · 26/05/2011 09:09

we also do sugar-free home made pancakes, one for Squeaks, two for mum...

AlpinePony · 26/05/2011 09:12

Oooh that reminds me, I have some crumpets in the freezer - asked a colleague who has an M&S in Warsaw to bring me muffins. Close, but no cigar. Bear loves thick butter - the way it should be eaten.

FannyPriceless · 26/05/2011 09:13

Yay Artie!

Yes house has only been on market for 20 mins. I'm thinking this morning we may need to do the extra 5k before the people who missed out on the neighbouring one hear about it.... But on the other hand it is seriously unattractive unless one has 'vision'.

Rice cakes? Bonnie loved them, but Clyde shoves a massive portion in his mouth which invariably gets wedged in the roof of his mouth... gag... vom... etc.

My feeding technique is as follows: Hand Clyde some finger food, wait until he tries to put it in his mouth, then sneak in a spoonful of mush while his mouth is open. I'm sure this is totally wrong according to baby feeding manuals or whatevs - but then I am the type of mother who deserves crap ham.Wink

AlpinePony · 26/05/2011 09:16

fanny Aren't you just setting him up not to be able to determine for himself whether he eats or not, that in addition to telling us his sex. :( What do you all make of that anyway? Letting Baybee Storm grow up "gender unhindered". I'm going to say fucking crackpot who deserves spam.

AlpinePony · 26/05/2011 09:36

Attention: It has just been regaled to me that it's NOT a good idea to go in to the laundry room when the baybee is in the walker outside. You may get trapped inside the room for 5 minutes until the baybee shuffles off. Apparently he thought he was going to be stuck in there until I got home to rescue him.

CUNextTuesday · 26/05/2011 09:43

who or what is baby Storm?

CUNextTuesday · 26/05/2011 09:47

Ok i know now!

CurlyCasper · 26/05/2011 09:51

I frequently employ that feeding method when Squeaks is being a PITA fanny! Give her a bread stick in order to feed the mush. Works a treat. I also sometimes give her "grown up" metal spoons, as they are novel enough to work too. She's currently into perfecting her dreg-drinking mine-sweeping technique. We're going to have to watch out when there's alcohol about Grin

okiecokie · 26/05/2011 12:17

FP I use that technique with finger food and mush to. Works a treat with Peppa. However, I still can't bribe mini O with the "have 3 more mouthfulls and you can have pudding", he just wants pudding and point blank refuses to eat any more.

Cas don't worry about shoes, bare feet best. I have a son whose feet have not grown since last summer saving me a fortune in ridiculously priced kiddies shoes. Although he did piss on his shoes yesterday so I had to hunt out his old shoes for him to wear until the others dried out.

Yes, what is baby Storm?
