I liked the CRESH acronym more than FESH so have used it. Welcome all ESH to your final stop on the journey. Rest your aching lady bits, try one of the many gin based cocktails, and try to molest the gorgeous waiting staff.

fanny Well if you've ever been to any of the Aussie bars/clubs in London you'll have hears this : - n.b., don't watch/listen now if you're feeling a bit weepy. Confused Makes me feel homesick and I don't even want to go back to Melbourne! Wink

cossie Oh I'm sure they don't mind. I'm from Scotland, England. Wink

FannyPriceless · 13/04/2011 14:26

alps Most self-respecting antipodeans (of any flavour) would not be seen dead in an Aussie bar in London! The crowds there are precisely the type we are trying to escape from.Wink

And I may have been born down under, but I am firmly of proud Scottish and Yorkshire stock. (Scotland, England too, obv.)

When were you in Melbourne? I lived there 2001-2.

CluckyKate · 13/04/2011 14:46

Am enjoying some blissful peace & quiet - LC is having a nap & BC has dozed off in front of the Baby Channel.....don't blame him really, is truly awful TV.

The only Aussie song I know is . Makes me laugh every time I hear it Grin

Silv - I just kept shovelling the stuff into LC until she'd had enough.

LC gets juice and even, sometimes fruitshoots Shock. She has taken to calling squash "beer" which can be embarrassing when we're out & about "I want my beer Mummy" Blush

Presumably the stroppiness will wane when the cough and associated pukiness goes Curl

AlpinePony · 13/04/2011 14:49

haha fanny - I never thought of it like that before! But yes, akin to going to "Shirl's & Dave's Fish & Chips" in San Antonio! Grin

Oh I didn't mean "back to Melbourne" as in wanting to go back (1994) but rather that the singer does. But it makes me miss "home" - wherever that might be. Hmm Being at my mum's the other week made me realise how much I miss the views. But there are downsides too of course.

AlpinePony · 13/04/2011 14:51

Kate!! Grin!! Loving it, even in April. Btw, as for fruitshoots - I've seen them in the supermarket and figure I'll hand one over at some point - I mean I presume they sell them because kids will do anything for one.

Backinthebox · 13/04/2011 15:49

Fruitshoots are not a problem. Not compared to, say, handing TT a Starbucks Cake Pop - the one with the pink sugar coating - while trying to keep her happy round Sainsbury's. Never again - tis baby speed! She sprinted round the store shrieking her head off, trying to climb into freezers, throwing armfuls of random stuff in the trolley etc. She is usually boisterous, but this was a whole new level of frantic!

'Beer' is hilarious though. She does shout it a lot, too. I blame the parents. Hmm

Silv I am going back to work in July, and need to pull my finger out about expressing. A was able to feed a small African nation with my spare milk last time, but have not really bothered expressing this time. Having one child already means my social life is completely dead anyway. I have no idea how I am going to express at work, or even if I will need to. When I went back with TT I took a breastpump to work with me, but obviously had nowhere to express until I finished work. I forgot to take it once on a 3 day trip to Ghana, and on the flight home I had to stand in the loo spraying milk into the sink. Not one of my more glamourous moments. I will need to express twice a day to keep my milk up, but then throw it away. So I need to get storing, ooh, about now, I think!

Cos I'm worried about LG's milk intake too. He is just far too busy to BF, but guzzles food and water down like they are going out of fashion. He only has a big feed at bedtime.

Cosmosis · 13/04/2011 16:04

Box you are welcome to my somewhat redundant freezer stash Grin

CluckyKate · 13/04/2011 16:21

Did you see the freezer stash that woman had on the "Is Breast Best" programme last night....whole drawer full of 10oz bags all arranged in date order. That takes some doing, non?

Cosmosis · 13/04/2011 16:52

I won?t be far off that soon, I?m expressing 10oz a day which isn?t being used!

CluckyKate · 13/04/2011 17:58
Sad If Artie definitely won't have it have you considered donating to your local hospital???
SilverSky · 13/04/2011 19:03

Kate yarp!!!! V impressive!!! Your thoughts on the 5yr old being bf'd and shouting "booby"?? I don't have an issue with long term bfing but I do think 5yrs is too much. For me. No wonder her boobs were nearly down to her knees!!

MB had me us up at 330 this morning. Think he was cold. Today has been a write off and we've spent the day on the sofa.

SilverSky · 13/04/2011 19:04

cos wot pump plz?

CluckyKate · 13/04/2011 19:49

I'm with ya Silv. Was interesting to see that she used the boob to calm her boys....in less than 10yrs time it will have the opposite effect.

SilverSky · 13/04/2011 20:37

Can you imagine if their mates find out in years to come? Not to mention having to make them promise to come off the boob when she asks!!!! Get the feeling they refuse!!!

Cosmosis · 13/04/2011 21:06

I can't kate you have to have registered before they're 6 months. I'm thinking of signing up to that mother to mother donation thing instead though. Seems stupid to waste it all.

silv Ameda Lacteline. They're pricey new but I got it for £50 off ebay and by got it's good!.

Muser · 13/04/2011 21:53

I cannot fit expressing into my day at the moment. I should make more of an effort.

Today has been nearly perfect. Massive long sleeps in the sling. Happy all day long. And then she started screaming and we couldn't get her to stop. It was horrific. TBG finally calmed her down and she's now feeding. It was so weird, she went from cooing and smiling to full on howling in seconds.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 13/04/2011 22:07

Aha! I wondered why you were all so quiet....

AlpinePony · 14/04/2011 08:21

What's new in VAG world?

SilverSky · 14/04/2011 09:27

T Tippee was good but not so much anymore tho no idea if it's me/my supply or the pump. When do you pump? I'm worried about pumping and leaving MB with nothing!

Cosmosis · 14/04/2011 10:03

Well just now I?m pumping at work and it?s replacing feeds so am doing 11 and 3. to get freezer stash I was doing it at about 8am, as I knew he was full from his morning feed and if I took him for a walk for his nap he wouldn?t need feeding again till he woke up at half ten or whenever.

It?s best if you do it at a regular time of day as your body then thinks it?s a regular feed so re regulates your supply to incorporate that apparently. I had the Tommy Tippee one too, and it was fine, but wanted a double for efficiency at work, and it?s soooo much better.

It is all a bit of a faff though, so a lot of people don?t bother and just give some formula cos it?s easier, which is fair enough, I'm all for an easy life.

SilverSky · 14/04/2011 10:24

I hear you. I'm never sure when is best. I'll try 8am too. Tho once I start work that time will be an arse. So do you leave in fridge or do you have freezer at work?

AlpinePony · 14/04/2011 10:27

Oh christ no. Shock I wouldn't leave anything in the fridges here I didn't want tampered/licked/stolen! Although I'm sure if you put a big label on it saying "Silv's Breast Milk" it'll be left alone. If it's not, start charging the dirty little fetishist! Grin

I brought in some Marmite & black pudding today for a colleague. I don't fear anyone would steal that though. Why would they?

FannyPriceless · 14/04/2011 10:31

Mmmm... marmite and black pudding.

AlpinePony · 14/04/2011 10:43

What is wrong with you SODOMISER?

Cosmosis · 14/04/2011 10:48

I fridge it in the HR kitchen as they know I?m pumping and no-one else uses their kitchen and it?s near where I pump ? although it will keep for 6 hours at room temp, or a lot of people use insulated lunch boxes/bags with freezer ice blocks in, in fact am thinking of doing that.

You won?t need to pump at 8 when you?re working though will you as you can pump at lunch or during the day if you want? Or not, I think I could get away with not pumping and not be engorged after a couple of days. The first day I was leaking all over and rock hard after about 2 hours here, now not so much, so I think supply settles down pretty quickly.
