Cake glad petty training back on track. Well done for sticking with it.
Feel slightly more human as dumped L on Dh at 7 when I'd fed him, and told him I was going back to bed. He brought him back to me at 8.30 as he thought he might be tired (after trying to give him breakfast and disturbing me trying to find nappies) we both slept til 10 after a short sleepy feed :-) He hasn't had another nap as keeps waking screaming, although is.asleep on me. Must try to get him down as need to make tea for dd who will be home soon with Dh - they've gone out on the bike and trailer bike to the gingerbread shop! Hope ur all having ok days and good evenings
Ouch re bitten tongue - they don't learn though

mlic it was £8.95!! i said oh it may give me ideas of extra stuff i put into mine, but mine is a lot better, i usually have fish pie there as its the best fish pie ever but they didnt have it so i just picked quickly and the pudding was £5.25 and it was tiny!!! when we went to centerparcs i tried L with a jar there it was mums own butternut squash and sweet potato, read the back it had 44% veg and the rest was god knows what so i threw it away! Ella's and the Plum ones are the only ones L will eat he firmly clamps his mouth shut!

CakeandRoses · 05/03/2011 20:26

arrrrghhhh, A has just properly wire-stripped my nipple Angry

F only ever did this once after he got his teeth so i was hoping she'd follow suit. not sure how long i can put up with it if she carries on.

talking of teeth - i think F might be finally getting his molars - kept saying his teeth hurt and crying earlier, saliva rash on chin, drooly and then he had blood in his mouth earlier which he's always had with his teeth arriving. think i'll throw a party when these last 4 all come thru.

F has been a total potty star and went earlier in his portable potty in sains loo (the actual loo was ming) so i reckon we've cracked freestyle wees now.

i feel the same about eating italian food out mlic despite loving it. i only bother if its a really good restaurant or if i'm stuck for choice as i think i can cook better cheaper.

talking of which, A just gobbled up masses of spirali pasta in a mushroom, cream and asparagus sauce with banana and ground almonds in yoghurt for pud.

memph why not try out mlic's method? sounds fool-proof

cakes i was sayinf the same about Italian food that you can do it at home I don't know what posessed me! my friends husband owns an Italian and he cooks for us but I hate going there as he is Albanian and they tend to make a night of eating and chatting and pasta in a sauce when its stone cold isnt nice, he puts his fork down between each mouthful for anout 5-10 mins it drives me mad as you feel like you have to follow suit!! good on F with his potty sounds like he has cracked it!!! at least when they are toddlers thay can tell you what hurts that what I hate about L he is in pain but you cant tell where from!

Chulita · 05/03/2011 20:45

I just made these oh.my.goodness. They taste sooooo good!

cake good old F, well done! I'm still not risking L just yet even though she emptied her pant drawer yesterday and tried to wear them. No point if we're off for a week in 10 days time.

mlic I make a huge batch of lentil soup and freeze it as well as mounds of banana pancakes. That way there's always something that only takes a couple of mins to defrost. (Saying that S had yesterday's porridge and a banana for tea cos I was too busy cooking peanut butter treats for DH)

Evening all. Cake go F with the potty training!

I like eating Italian food out; yes I can cook it myself but it's my favourite type of food and restaurant food is always nicer than home-cooked mainly because it's less healthy - they use more fat etc!

I'm so tired - last night we had friends over for dinner and some of them were staying over. J woke for a feed at about midnight and some of them were being loud just outside our room so it woke him right up, so he was awake till 2am. I woke for a wee at 3.30, then J had a long feed at 5am, then he woke at 7 and we dozed till 8am. Not enough sleep!

Needle · 05/03/2011 22:39

ARGH! All this talk of food- I'm completely stuffed. I made chicken with sundried tomato and basil stuffing, and then a huge tray of cinnamon rolls. My belly feels like it's going to split. And somehow I have to find the energy to do Shred (have missed the last two days). Urgh.

What are everyone's plans for tomorrow?

CakeandRoses · 05/03/2011 22:46

thanks all re the congrats for F! and thank you tons too
for the moral support with it last week. It really really helped to be able to come on here and moan about it and get a pep talk to keep going Smile

tis funny mlic, i think you knew all along that he was ready even tho you don't really know him, iyswim?! crazy how much we've learnt about each other and our children on this thread isn't it?

we're ready with the helplines and pompoms for when you 'do' L next chul

altho it didn't totally go to plan due to putting it on hold for a few days after his sickness bug, i do rate the '1 day' method we used. i would do it again next time with A.

Sounds like a crappy night woodlands. bet you felt like dumping J on your friends the next morning at 7am Wink

oh, i'm not at all shy with the olive oil when i cook italian. i properly glug it in like it's water

banana pancakes recipe purlease chul. in fact any banana recipes are always welcome over here! do you freeze the batter or the 'made' pancakes? if the latter, how do you defrost and warm them? what do you have them with?

Evening needle. what are cinnamon rolls?

we're meeting some friends tomo and splitting up so the boys can watch the football and the girls (and children) can do something - not sure what yet, maybe pictures or shopping and coffee. Then either all back to ours for a roast or will all go out for a meal somewhere.

i really like my children at the moment Smile Feel very lucky.

Cake Cinamon rolls are a bit like Chelsea buns, but breadier, without raisins. You make a bun dough (very, very sticky and a nightmare to knead) then prove it for a couple of hours, then roll it out to a large rectangle, spread with melted butter and a mixture of cinnamon and sugar, roll it up, chop it into rounds and place them flat in a baking dish. Prove again for an hour or so, then bake and drizzle over some glace icing. They're sooooooooo yummy! I used this recipe:

CakeandRoses · 05/03/2011 23:36

They sound lovely - but what freak would weigh eggs?!

I just had to upload to the fb group a snap of F i took earlier . He was in his 'training gear' at my step-mothers. I thought he looked like a new member of the Scissor Sisters doing a remake of one of Kate Moss's old shoots Confused Grin

but just look at those big boy pants! My baby is no more [lip quivers]

Stac2011 · 06/03/2011 00:06

just saw it cakes i have pics of j when he was F's age it does make you sad. Not looking forward to R potty training, i'm already upset she is getting older x

CakeandRoses · 06/03/2011 00:21

i know, i can hardly bear my babies getting bigger stac [dramatic emoticon]

the worst bit is, despite taking millions of photos and a fair few videos i can't really remember them how they were, they always seem like they've always been the age they are currently.

it's odd how things change and you can't put your finger on when it happened. for instance, F used to always snuggle up withme in bed in the mornings to spend ages poring over his word books whereas now he's usually in his room playing with brio just popping in to me now and then to show me a train or ask a pointless question.

Ouch cake on the biting. L has been doing it too. S friend suggested that maybe he didn't actually want the milk when he bites. I'm offering a bit less and he's biting less. Sounds like u have a nice day planned.

Weaning seems to be back on track again although he isn't eating as much as some. Maybe I need to give him more. He seems to prefer finger food, or bought stuff to my homecooking.Hmm

Dh out with his friend in the morning so i'll take the children to church. Then no plans for the rest of the day.

Those recipes sound delicious, am starving now! Banana recipes always welcome here too.

mic it is so frustrating watching them struggle with crawling isn't it? L manages one knee forward the pushes both legs back! It really is 1 step fwd and 2 back.

Another unsettled night here, but took L into spare room. Whilst he's still waking quite a lot, he is settling quicker. No idea how many times or when as have been too sleepy to check. At least I'm getting more sleep. Hope everyone else has good nights

Oh another bad night, not because of Dylan though.
I didnt get to sleep til 2 again (it seems to be when we have sex) I just cant get comfy and Ive got a cold so I cant breathe properly.
At least its Sun so I can sleep later if I need to.

D is trying to crawl too, when hes sitting down he goes to the side so hes on his hands and knees but then his legs slide out to the sides every time.

Needle · 06/03/2011 08:28

cake, I have to confess to being one of life's egg weighers. My life changed when two chicks brought out egg whites in a carton- no more weighing, no more maturing... god i'm a loser.

Sorry you've had a bad night mlic. I wish there was something helpful we could do.

melissa I have to applaud you, we've not got ourselves together in time for eucharist for months- we're an evensong only family nowadays!

Has anyone heard from nixter recently?
