mlic does he drink water? poor E, probably from being ill and he will pick up the training once he feels 100% again.

CakeandRoses · 14/02/2011 22:02

does your gp surgery get a doctor to speak to you on the phone if you call out of hours so they can ascertain whether you do actually need to see a doctor? ours does that. might be worth a try if so mlic.

CakeandRoses · 14/02/2011 22:03

We got a diody cup and DS drinks alot better from it... half of it goes down his chest cos he has a chewing action when he drinks...

kkfairybrains · 14/02/2011 22:36

just a quickie as i'm off to bed. i always say go by your instinct if there's something not sitting right with you to get checked.E is down to 3 bottles a day. she'll generally take 6-8oz first thing at half 8. then weetabix at 10 or half 10 then lunch at half 1 or 2. then bottle at around 3 normally between 3-5oz dinner at 6 then half 7 bottle 3oz-7oz and the odd occasion she'll finish the 8 oz. so between 12-20oz a day. don't really know if this is good or bad as i havent checked as i'm just going with her cos she won't take anymore or any less than what she wants.
slimming world weigh in in the morning Confused. dreading it as i've been very bold..

Spirael · 14/02/2011 22:40

About to go off to bed, but quickly before I do...

M is currently on 3 meals and 1 (fruit) snack, drinks about 1floz of water with each from her sippy cup, and has 4 6floz bottles of milk between meals. HTHs!

Stac2011 · 14/02/2011 23:21

mlic R has about 3 to 4 8oz btls per day, on top of her solids. She will drink baby juice and water but prefers milk

Off to bed will catch up tomorrow

CakeandRoses · 14/02/2011 23:48

is it just me, or are you finding the mess from weaning a real pain? i remember it doing my head in the first time round but this time it's killing me. A's now usually having 3 meals plus 1 snack, she's not eating tons but there's so much mess - on her, on her clothes, table, floor, chair and often on me too.

i can't remember when this starts to improve but i'm worried it's ages away yet (F isn't that tidy an eater even now)

what bibs are you all using? i've always used the tommy tippee pelican bibs, still do even for F, they're great and so easy to keep properly clean. The downsides are that they don't stop all the mess down their arms and often let food in round the neck too. i do have some 'armed' ones but the arms are always too long and get in the way or they're made of towelling or wetsuit stuff and i have no idea how to keep them clean.

OP posts:
WhatSheSaid · 15/02/2011 01:25

Re weaning, having a dog is great. Anything dropped on floor gets cleaned up by him.

I use these bibs, they are great, have a backing so liquids don't soak through, never stain, mine are about 6 years old and are going strong.

Chulita · 15/02/2011 07:51

cake L is pretty tidy now, not much gets on the floor so I just need to wipe the table down on her side. The mess does get to me with S (hence the thread title suggestion) I should mop the floor every day because the food all over it is just disgusting (but I don't cos I'm a lazy cow). I use the same bibs as wss but the sleeved ones and they're very good. The sleeves are long but I roll them up.
mlic how's W today?
I need to try and get S to drink, he's only having a few milk feeds now but I give him solids around 9/10 and around 4 so he's only having 2 meals.
Oh, and our offer was rejected Sad but she's got 2 other interested parties who both need to sell their houses first so I'm crossing my fingers that they can't sell theirs and she gets desperate!

CakeandRoses · 15/02/2011 08:14

I proclaim that Mr F slept through the night til 7.15am in his own huge bed for the second night in a row!

and A only woke most of the evening-- at 3 and 6 and she's teething to the max right now.

i'd done a bit of research on bibs after i posted last night and those silly billyz ones were raved about so it's good to get personal recommendations on them. will buy a couple.

i'm confused about the material tho - how on earth do you keep fleece clean? sounds worse than the neoprene of the one i have.

also, do you miss the pocket thing of the pelican ones as so much gets collected A's (and F's) and thereby doesn't end up on the floor.

what kind of dog do you have wss? don't think i've seen a pic

am so annoyed, dh is away overnight this week - tomorrow! my book group night Angry. i'm trying to get a babysitter but don't really want to pay for one just for me to go out for an hour or 2 on my own. grrrr. just as well we're doing the book on here too!

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 15/02/2011 08:18

chulita so sad about your offer. she must really need the full asking price or not be in a rush at all to hang on for the other buyers. was your last offer your maximum?

does S just not want to bf other times? would it be worth upping the solid meals but make them 'watery' ones like porridge? could you give him water with a flavour like diluted fruit juice?

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife20 · 15/02/2011 08:21

Ahh missed loads again, I really shouldnt disappear in the eve.

We've never had contents insurance, now I feel bad that we dont!
Apart from my phone I have nothing of worth. DP has his kinect and games consoles/tv but apart from that not much.
I cant imagine anyone trying to break in, we're on the first floor and they have to get through 2 locked doors which dont have windows.

Oh I have a completely diff question, we're sorting out Dylan's passport, how do I get a photo of him to fit the requirements?
Even if we sat him on the chair in the booth theres no guarantee he'd look at the camera for 5 secs or whatever it is.
Has anyone else had to get one for their dcs around 7 months old?

CakeandRoses · 15/02/2011 08:30

dh look at your flat again and think about what you'd lose if you had a bad fire (carpets, sofa, pictures, beds etc) - it's all that stuff too, not just what could be stolen.

if you have a snappy snaps or similar they'll do baby passport pics - similar cost to a booth but they'll make sure they get a shot which meets requirements. babies can smile in their pics btw.

will probably get A's done today funnily enough

F's was taken when he was about 4 months old so he bears no resemblance to it now - other than the huge grin Smile

was it a special one, he'd saved up, mlic?

c'mon - it wasn't that great a night here but surely i deserve some acclaim for having a non-cosleeping toddler for 2 night in a row? Grin

the weird thing is, he did it on his own - normally it takes one of us to go in there and tell him to stay in his bed for a couple of nights. the only difference is that the cat has suddenly started going in there/sleeping in there so not sure if he's had words or is pinning him down or something!

and what bib do you use then woman?

and how're you feeling now?

OP posts:
Chulita · 15/02/2011 08:49

cake it was our maximum but I think because she's got 2 others looking interested she'll hang on to see if they'll offer closer to what she wants. I know her job moves in April so she'll have to sell by then or commute so we might hang on and see what happens, there's nothing else we like on the market at the mo. Still frustrating though, before christmas we were rejected in favour of a lower offer so I'm just feeling really unlucky at the mo!
wrt to liquid S really doesn't want to bf unless he's going off to sleep so he'll feed right before naps and during the night but if I try in the day (even if he's starving) he won't have any of it. I'm giving him broccoli apple and pear that he can suck water out of but I must work on him taking a cup!
Also with bibs the fleece just doesn't stain, don't ask me why not but it doesn't. Like cloth nappies, the fleece seems to repel ming Grin just shove the bibs in the machine/handwash and you're good to go. They dry really quickly too. As for the pocket the bibs are quite long so the food tends to collect on their knee, you just have to be careful when you take the bib off.

dh have you stuck your ipod in the freezer?
with passports we got L one at about 4 months and they're a lot less strict about photos for them. They don't have to look directly at the camera, L sat on my knee but they took it so you can't see me at all (I went to Jessops rather than a booth, they'll also retake them for free if the passport office rejects the pic). The funny thing is it'll last her 5 years and she looks sooooo different obviously!

mlic hooray for a wet nappy! but not so much for the stink... you feeling better?

L used to be horrendously messy but cleaned up her act recently, mind you she eats next to nothing - think half a weetabix for breakfast, a mandarin for lunch and 3 pasta twirls for tea and that's not an exaggeration...

Chulita · 15/02/2011 08:53

cake hooray for F
