Congratulation Trudyla!!!! Wow, amazing news!

Totally get why you're feeling nervous, like mlic i was thrilled with no1 and scared stiff when i saw the positive pg test with no2!

the first 6 months were tough but it's getting easier all the time. my friend with 2 under 2 assures me that after the first year, it's terrific. Her two DDs are very close and play together all the time.

if you search on here for 2 under 2 you'll get lots of helpful posts

how do you feel?

Congratulations trudyla!!! We can hear all about your preg on here, so exciting! Grin

Im not planning on getting preg til next year but who knows with me forgetting my pill all the time.

Hopefully it wont happen before the wedding!

viksam · 28/02/2011 10:30

Trudyla its amazing news but i can understand why u feel concerned!like the others have said, i guess it will be hard but for the children it will be fab. I was thinking about a trip to the docs myself to see what i need to do to produce another before im far to decrepid to think about it but its been so full on and horrid with D that i cant even contemplate it at the moment.
D woke at 2.20/3.15/4/5.30/6.30 at which point he came into my bed and settled till 9.20!! so i dont feel too bad now as i thik i went into a coma for an hour then too.
mylife if its teeth what can be done, i cant see anything at all but continue to give him teething powders.
TSC nursery!! defo!!
DH hows D?

HotGiggity · 28/02/2011 10:48

Congratulations Trudyla

CakeandRoses · 28/02/2011 11:22

wss do you know anyone there who has used peke moes for their baby to sleep in? I've just put A down for her nap in one for the first time to test it out before tonight. I've got the regular weight cotton one but i've no idea what tog it is and therefore how many layers to put underneath.

her room gets super cold at night and she now works her hands free from her arm swaddle and gets v cold hands (and scratches her face to bits) so i'm hoping this might help her sleep better.

we could have had almost a sleep-thru situation last night had she not scratched herself (12amish til 5amish) as she didn't seem desperate for a feed when she woke up, just unsettled.

i was wondering if some of the other non-sleepers on this thread might do well in a peke moe too. they're very well regarded, especially as a transition from swaddling (which is why we got one)

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 28/02/2011 11:22

the reason i asked wss is that they're made in NZ, btw

DesperateHousewife20 · 28/02/2011 11:28

vik D is asleep in the mei tai sling I bought, it took nearly an hour of swaying but at least I could make a cuppa at the same time!

CakeandRoses · 28/02/2011 11:33

well that's a good sign... she's just gone straight down for her nap in the cot without needing her arms swaddled. she normally can only sleep without arms swaddled in the pram or car.

trudyla congratulations! Grin I hope it all goes really well for you and you avoid the ms. Like mlic and cake said, the 1st 6 months were the hardest but it's so much easier already - 20 months between my two (well remembered mlic :) )

tsc did you take her?

viksam fwiw L starting teething symptoms around 8 weeks but didn't cut a tooth til 10 months. Sometimes it just takes a long time. S has no teeth and no sign of any but lots of dribbling/hands in mouth/red cheeks etc.

Oh, and we're back on 3 feeds a night...lucky me

I'll be back in a bit once L's in bed, I've had my parents and then bro and sil round this weekend hence my lack of posting.

Trudyla · 28/02/2011 12:13

Thanks for the kind words everyone and for not shouting that I am mad. It's nice to hear that ther are others who've done it. I am expecting not many positive comments in RL. My mother always comments on how hard mothers with two (or more) small ones have it (I guess there was a reason for her having me so late) so I'm expecting more worries than joy, which is kinda sad. So it's great to get the full excitment here. Thanks!

I'm feeling heaps better already, but still quite nervous. But also excited.

MLIC I forgot that there are a few of you one here with a smaller age gap. For some reason I thought that it's all 2 years or more...

DH We were gonna get married in August but we're probably gonna have to do it earlier now, cos A) I'm gonna be a fatty and B) I couldn't fly to England anymore at that point, I don't think.

Thanks for having a Wine for me WSS, you are too kind Grin

Chulita No MS yet. I can't remember when it started the last time, but I do remember that it was ES, evening sickness.

Hope it's OK that I will keep you all updated constantly talk about every little symptom as I'm too shy to contribute to the antenatal thread yet. The October one looks soooo full and busy. Will have to lurk for ages...

Right, I'm off for now.

Trudyla · 28/02/2011 12:14

kkfairybrains · 28/02/2011 13:19

Oh congrats trudyla!!! brilliant news!
Ellie is crawling backwards and sges getting suprisingly quick already!!

Dylthan · 28/02/2011 14:23

trudyla congratulations Smile

Just got a letter from work and they've agreed to my part time hours not on the days I've asked for but I'm so relieved. They did put in their letter how "I'm sure you can appreciate how difficult it is to accommodate part time hours for you as a rotational technician" I think I'm ment to feel slightly guilty but I don't Wink although I know they'll all be bitching about me for doing this Sad but I have to put my family first.

So I'll be working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from the 1st of April.

Chulita · 28/02/2011 14:31

trudyla post away! I'm looking to start working on DH to ttc as soon as I've shifted this last stone of baby weight so all baby stuff is welcome :)

stac I really want to stretch ourselves and make a slightly higher offer but DH says he's got a funny feeling that the house is 'too perfect' and that we don't know enough about the area etc. I think he's a bit scared of actually putting all his money into a house so I'm working on him. I'm going to phone my grandad too cos he said if we were a bit short to let him know...we'll see.

kkfairy go E! Once they start they get quicker before you know it.

cake how's the potty training going?

Man alive my sil winds me up. You know the sort of person you would never talk to if you weren't related? well she's one of them, very 'nice' but just drives me round the bend. She had fruit and fibre for breakfast and left all the raisins...bro said she always picks all the fruit out - that kind of thing just gets to me though. She also always knows best cos someone in her NCT group said it even though they've not got children. [sigh] like I said, she's lovely but this family holiday later this year is going to be an exercise in patience!

Chulita · 28/02/2011 14:32

cake isn't that just a glorified pillow case? Grin

Chulita · 28/02/2011 14:36

dylthan glad you got the hours you want, and yea, don't feel guilty!

DesperateHousewife20 · 28/02/2011 15:50

2 weddings this year on this thread! trudyla you'll have to keep me updated with any plans Grin

Ive finally got Dylan's passport form sent off, I had to come home and grab his birth certificate so it took an hour in all!

Woodlands · 28/02/2011 15:57

congratulations trudyla! I was wondering how long it would be before someone on the thread got pregnant again! 15 months is a perfectly normal age gap, you'll be fine!

CakeandRoses · 28/02/2011 19:38

ack dh birth cert?! i just sent off A's and didn't include hers, should i have??

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 28/02/2011 19:48

who else is doing the next book?

OP posts:
Dylthan · 28/02/2011 19:48

cake oh dear you need to put their birth certificate in from what I remember of doing dylans. You should of done the post offices check and send. It's such a pita filling in passport forms I'm not doing it for bethan until I really really have to.

How is all the wedding planning going ladies?

WhatSheSaid · 28/02/2011 19:49

Trudyla I bet you'll find the second pg goes much quicker than first time round - you'll be so busy looking after the first one!

cake I have heard of peke moes but had never really seen one desite them being a NZ creation, they look quite cool, I like the stripy rainbow one. Not sure about togs etc though. Have you tried socks taped on hands to stop the scratching - seriously, a mum at work used to do this to stop her dd scratching her eczma.
