i though it was your bday thurs tsc?

off out to the gig you disapprove off soon Grin

mlic that's so naughty using jars. try my tomato sauce recipe - tis basically the same as the one i gave you for pizza sauce but use tin tomatoes instead of the puree. use whole ones and break them up with a fork at the end. You can chuck basil or whatever in at the end.

I've made pasta bake for dinner too - mine has evolved over the years but I make a basic tomato sauce like the one I described for pizza, then add whatever other veg are around (broccoli, a leek and some mushrooms today), plus I grill some sausages and peppers together, then take the skin off the roasted peppers and add them and chopped up sausages too. I add some chilli powder and some creme fraiche if I have any. I then cook the pasta, mix it all together and put cheese on top, then stick it in the oven and job's a good'un.

I have put a bit aside for J's lunch tomorrow, hope it won't be too spicy for him (we haven't eaten ours yet, DH has a phone conference at 8pm so we'll have it after that).

I feel like such a terrible mum - I was running J's bath, then took him through to the bedroom and got him changed, and left him naked on his changing table (about the same height as a sofa). I then stupidly ran back through to turn the bath off, leaving him there as I've done tons of times before (though would not admit as much to my mum on facebook!). Of course he chose that moment to roll off. Poor little love, he was crying more in shock than in pain, and he seems fine (though I think he might have a little bruise on the side of his face tomorrow), but I felt dreadful. I might get myself a glass of wine now...

Chulita · 22/02/2011 20:22

woodlands you won't be the only mum who's been caught out by rolling lo's. Have a good glass of Wine and rest easy knowing that J's a good healthy wriggler.

mlic tut tut, using jars of sauce... I only make my own cos I can't stand the jar stuff [bleugh] I tend to make a mammoth batch and freeze it so it's ready to go when I'm feeling lazy!

tsc is F off solids cos he doesn't want them? or because you were told not to give him any?

S is a bit like mlic 's W in many ways it seems, he can't get enough food and is really not overly fussed about milk. Methinks stopping bf at one won't be so hard.

I must try humous, never made it so might just stick to the pre-made version.

mlic, I normally use a tin of tomato soup and some salami... and I'm a trained lazy person chef. However, I was doing the sainsbury's meals for £20 thingy and the spinach, bacon and tomato pasta is actually really nice, and it's literally just spinach, tomato, bacon, garlic and creme fraiche.

I went to library today, it was quite depressing. Walked in and plopped Jacob down, letting him crawl off and do what he likes, then realised that all the other mums are there with their children having pretend cups of tea and fetching teddy's etc. Made me feel like a totally inadequate mum as I wasn't teaching Jacob anything, just letting him play by himself.

In my defence, he seems to prefer it that way, if you go to play with him, he often just takes the toy off you and puts it next to him, repeatedly.

memphis83 · 22/02/2011 20:48

oooh mlic i normally make my sauce but do keep jars in incase im back late dh can make one, its the only thing he can cook!! but never seen a gordon one that sounds lovely!! my brother is so fussy about everything that my sil shops every day to get what he fancies that day, im lucky dh loves everything i make, i ask him what he wants and he really doesnt mind or ever say oooh i fancy ... strange man!! Grin makes my life easy though!
woodlands poor J he will get over it i bet your worse off than he is!!
L is a wriggler now, past 2 days he has spun over and tried to slug away (as its the fastest way he can escape) as soon as i took off his nappy, its like freeeeedom!!!!! hes also found his wink the past few days he keeps trying to pull it off!!!

Dylthan · 22/02/2011 20:57

Memphis Aaah boys and their winkies I don't know when they grow out of the playing with it phase D is 4 and still yanks it about if he's sans pants.

woodland I think we've all been there Smile

viksam · 22/02/2011 21:07

Evening all,
woodlands good job it wasnt any higher, mine is on top of the cot(keep having to take it off now he flumps around the cot!) i must not leave him on there now!
mylife i use shop sauce too, dont let the clever clogs on here make u feel bad....hehe, seriously it is simple lazyness on my part, im sure its easy to make ur own, and freezing it sounds like a good idea too. I want to batch cook up some bolognese too but cannot be arsed atm.
I managed to go to the shop and buy some humous, Devon seemed to like it on a bread stick, good call cake thanks.
People who are BLW what sort of stuff are u giving, Devons hands get so horrid that he struggles to pick stuff up and what about an over stuffed mouth and storing food, i checked in his mouth just before i put him down to sleep the other day and there was some carrot in there, not good at nap time. Well it doeant bode well for a good night already, devon has been awake twice since he went down at 7. He wants his dummy but is too bunged up to keep it in. DH is going in the spare room tonight, he's shattered but says he feels better since we talked, so thats good. Right im off to catch what little sleep my beloved boy will let me have tonight, sweet dreams everyone and thanks for the support, im so needy at atm xx

viksam · 22/02/2011 21:11

hot ur not a bad Mom, u have a little boy who is great at playing by himself which is a talent a lot of kids these days dont have. U should be proud that he is so independant, its great.

viksam · 22/02/2011 21:12

night xx

Dont chat too much, i struggle to catch up!!

Stac2011 · 22/02/2011 21:36

wow ladies you have been busy. I have read everything but its so much i cant comment lol.

Your pasta sauces sound fab, so does gordon ramsays sauce mlic. Dp is a pain with pasta so i dont ask what he wants and just make it.

woodlands dont worry i'm sure he's fine. R fell off the settee last week.

viks are you going to the docs?

tsc have you decided what to do about the gossiping bitch woman?

Great news about A's tooth cakes

How much more have you to do for the wedding dh? What happened with the website for bridesmaid dress? Oh forgot to answer about tattoos and peircings, i have 2 tattoos, base of spine and my shoulderblade. My ears are peirced twice on the lobe and once at the top of my right ear. I had a belly bar but took that out ages ago

what about cakes suggestion to get a friend to say it tsc?

HotGiggity · 23/02/2011 06:52

Morning all,

tsc I would probably just start line of gossip about how there's this woman who takes things completely out of context and is really spiteful. However, I am childish and petty...

What's everyone up to today?

viksam · 23/02/2011 08:10

Morning all,
Hi stac, im gona ring at 8.30 and try and get an appointement, mainly for Devon as he is weezing badly now and i want his ears checked out too.
tsc im so out of the loop about bitchbags but is it possible to rise above and ignore? I probably wouldnt say that if i knew what happened but usually its best not to sink to their level. What was ur night like? mine was marginly better with only three wake ups 7.50,11.50 then 1.50 at which point he was up for over an hour whilst i tried calpol, snot sucker, nasal spray and milk. Then he came in bed with me and slept till 6.30. I just worry that he will get used to all this attention at night, become dependant on it and forget how to selfsettle.

CakeandRoses · 23/02/2011 08:23

why didn't anyone remind me of the folly of having a 'late' night?

Had a great night out, father and step-mother babysitting but got home to find both children up (am slightly suspicious about this as it seems to almost only happen when they're babysitting and desperate to see them-- Wink)

by the time, we got everyone in their relevant places and rella roo fed, it was 1ish.

probably no coincidence that F is annoying the life out of me this morning.

and today, i'm back off into london to meet a friend for lunch. hopefully i'll wake up a bit by then.

anyway, re your willy stories - F provided me with a great one this week which i kept forgetting to tell you:

he was in his bed having his quiet time before his nap, i went in to tell him it was time to sleep and saw him sitting there, nappy off, legs akimbo and squashing his willy between his thumb and finger and using it to press the buttons on his calculator Grin

pleased you're feeling a bit better vik - keep posting

oh and for the record, i LOVE pasta, in pasta bake or anything really.

tsc (gosh, nearly typed your actual name then Blush) it doesn't taste all the same if you put stuff in it!
