Today has been good, the girl I went to see today seemed to really appreciate me coming round, I dont think shes got many mum friends and she cant drive.

Did I even say I got D weighed on Tues? Hes 19lb 10 now, put on less than a pound in 5 weeks.
Hes also getting his first tooth!

i've looked at her book and there's a 7-9 month check.i'll wait til she's 8 months and if i haven't heard anything then i'll get onto my hv. she never got in touch with me for her 3 month check i had to chase her up for it so i'm kind of expecting the same this time.
is dylan having much bother with his tooth coming through dh?
E's top gum is really swollen. even my mum commented on it today. she reckons she's going to get alot of teeth together with the way her gums look.

memphis83 · 18/02/2011 21:26

mlic dont worry im here, been reading when i get in from work but with getting house cleam, food done, Lwashed fed and to bed not had tome to post, having an awful day, its been so cold at work and dh and i argueed big time yesterday, we sat down tonight and talked about what we are going to do i cant cope with shouting anymore we cleared the air and everything seems a bit better, maybe the talk cleared the air!?
cakes L can pick up the tiniest bits off his highchair so pincer grip is working here, although it takes a while staring it out before his hand goes near, he is soooo lazy!
i havent took L to the hv in 4 months!!!! i think i better make an appointment!
cant believe the stuff your babies eat, i makee broclli cheese with past and curry and past sauces for L but with baby pasta he loves houmous but wont actually eat toast just lick it!! tried scrambled eggs he hated it but loves beans, he has a massive bowl of porridge the a bowl of steamed fruit mixed with baby rice, then lunch is vrocolli cheese or something like that followed by a alpor soya yoghurt as dairy still flairs his skin up then for tea roast butternut squash and swede with pasta and tomato sauce followed by yet more fruit, the had 5 6oz bottle today too, all that fruit and he still wont poo much!!!

I'm no good on recommending slings, a friend bought me one when A was born (a ring sling) swearing it was the best thing she ever had for her baby - I just couldn't get on with it. Always felt uncomfortable. Used a Babyu Bjorn a little bit but not that often.

We have a 7 mth check here too, A was 9 kilos at hers, that's about 20 lb I think. I'm guessing G will be about the same, they are very similar on weights/lengths at same ages (they are my clone babies...they were exactly the same weight and length at birth)

Woodlands · 18/02/2011 22:03

We don't have an 8 month check round here, we have a check at 1 year old. Not sure why it varies so much?

I took J to the HV last week and he was 9.36kg, 20b 10oz. Despite that I still carry him in a Kari-Me sling (actually haven't for about 3 weeks, must do it again soon or else he'll suddenly seem too heavy!). It's similar to a Moby wrap and I'd recommend either - easy to tie once you get the hang of them, far more supportive for both you and the baby than the Baby Bjorn, and you can tie it in a few different ways.

Stac2011 · 18/02/2011 22:03

R was 20lb 1oz on tuesday so they were happy that she's still gaining since stopping the ranitadine and carobel.

I've never used a baby sling mlic soz

I wonder if we get a check up? I'm sure they said a year was the next one

Dylthan · 18/02/2011 22:38

We have bethans check on Tuesday can't wait to see how much she weighs Grin

mlic I've been using a moby sling I had really bad spd in pregnancy and my back is still fecked but this sling has not really had any bad effect on my back I love it. Bad points though it is a complete faff to tie although once you get the hang of it it's fine. She is beginning to get too heavy for me now so I've been trying to practice the hip hold tie but she just dosen't seem as secure in it then Confused I think I need a little more practice in the mean time it's still not to bad carrying her on my front.

CakeandRoses · 18/02/2011 22:47

mlic i've had a few slings but my fave is this Rose and Rebellion one (and not just cos it has rose in the name Smile. You can use them on your front and then move to your back when they're older - they last up til the child is 20kg if your back lasts that long. i've tried F in it a couple of times and it was fine. they come in pretty fabrics which reverse to black.

CakeandRoses · 18/02/2011 23:19

oh and had A weighed yday at last and she was 16lb something or bang on the 50th %tile in other words.

your babies all sound huge! is it just cos they're a bit older or are they high on the chart?

Dylthan · 18/02/2011 23:25

I haven't had bethan weighed in ages but I've just started to pack away her 3-6 month clothing today. Sad

So I think she'll be little like A cakes.

Stac2011 · 19/02/2011 00:34

R has always been on the 91st centile as she was 9lb 12 at birth due to gestational diabetes

DesperateHousewife20 · 19/02/2011 07:48

We have an 8 month check here, its to check they can sit unaided and are basically plodding along nicely.

kk- no I didnt even know he had teeth coming, it was a surprise when the hv told me. He'll prob be in pain when they cut I imagine.

One of the mums at my baby group had a moby when her ds was a baby but when he got bigger she had to buy a mei tei as she found it so much easier for carrying an older baby she loved both and always gets really nostalgic seeing me carrying B.

She would still carry her ds in the mei tei the only thing stopping her she says is the fact that he's 2 and independently wants to walk and not be carried.

On her reccomendation I would like to get a mei tei but dh is digging his heels in and saying I should persevere with the moby or start using the pram ( but he's not the one that has to carry a big baby or struggle to get the pram up everytime we go out Angry )
