Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes I have got a sling, good idea, she has been on calpol but she keeps writhering in pain :( If she is still ill monday ill take her to the doctors.

NoHunIntended · 16/04/2011 23:51

Was going to suggest a sling too, Tyson. Hope she is better soon, poor little poppet.

ft, first stomach bug at four and a quarter? Wow! That is amazing! But sorry he is poorly now, and hope it passes soon.

Tribble, I would say it is any nut butter - in most health food stores (or indeed, make your own!), you can get cashew butter, almond butter, peanut butter, um, a few others I think! I haven't got a book - any tips? We are just giving DS what we are having. I know to not add salt, of course. Seems to be going great, quite a natural process.

All good here. Had a mini-reunion with some university friends yesterday, one has a two-year old boy, one has two boys ages three and four, and one friend has yet to meet the right man, so anyway, four little boys playing together, DS trying to keep up with the big boys, mega cute.

TribbleWithoutACause · 17/04/2011 07:35

Ty Oh poor thing, I hope she's feeling better today.

Nohun Urmmm tips, they suggested toasting only one half of a slice of bread and then on the other half putting purees on it as a kind of spread. I used a puree yesterday as a pasta sause as well. Parsnip, pear and pea; it didn't go down as well as I thought it would. DS doesn't seem to like brocolli either. They also had suggestions such as using bread sticks for dippers, using rice cakes as an alternative to bread.

I've started a thread in weaning with quite a few questions, if anyone has any clues I'd be grateful. Here, thanks!

HarrietJones · 17/04/2011 18:46

I did your thread tribble.

Anyone having trouble feeding out & about? Dd3 happy to have solids but not bf. It's ok in the car but not pizza hut or the park

tiredfeet · 17/04/2011 20:28

Good weaning questions tribble its a helpful thread

hj ds won't bf anywhere with any distractions, so quiet bench in park ok but not if people around. Solids on the other hand he is fine with company, he ate well at every meal we had at the hotel and wedding these last few days. Letting him feed himself has been brilliant as well as meant I still get to eat too Grin

Hi Everyone Sad

Surgery tomorrow and feeling very emotional. Quite a lot of tears and generally a bit scared. R still hasn't drunk from a cup or bottle and I'm not going to be able to help her when she cries. I don't want her to feel abandonned by me Sad.

HarrietJones · 17/04/2011 20:39

Don't tell anyone but ((((((Spring)))))))

tiredfeet · 17/04/2011 21:29

Oh spring Sad big hug from me too.
Hopefully though it won't be as bad as you fear.
Will be thinking of you tomorrow!

HarrietJones · 17/04/2011 21:32

Spring, clarify everything with the anaesthetist at your pre op as there may be something they can do & will give you all the right info from the horses mouth so to speak

NoHenIntended · 18/04/2011 00:49

Good luck, (((*SF))). Thinking of you and your LO.

SpringFlowers · 18/04/2011 09:03

Thank you for your kind messages. I feel awful and just want it to all be in the past.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 18/04/2011 11:07

Thinking of you SF.

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 18/04/2011 12:31

Thinking of you, I hope it goes well :)

SpringFlowers · 18/04/2011 14:10

Due on theatre in about 30 mins. Backless gown while naked is a delight. And then there's the surgical stockings... Also found out can't bf for 48 hours rather than 24 as I had been told. It's going to be a long couple of days.

tiredfeet · 18/04/2011 14:15

Sounds like a glamourous outfit Grin

Gosh its a bit much for them to tell you that now! On the plus side at least it will all be over soon, sometimes the worrying about it can be the hardest bit.

Will be thinking of you (and dd)

HarrietJones · 18/04/2011 14:33

(((Spring))) I don't get the anaesthetic problem & was hoping it would turn out not to be a problem , hope it all goes ok. Keep pumping & post on feeding here for advice if you need it.

TysonSnowflower · 18/04/2011 14:53

Oh Spring, you are prob in theatre atm, hope all goes well and will be thinking of you and baby spring (((hugs)))

TribbleWithoutACause · 18/04/2011 14:59

HJ I don't get it either, what do they do in the case of an emergency c-section. Mums feed after those don't they?

Anyway Spring I hope it all goes ok and that it all works out. (((hugs)))

sam12 · 18/04/2011 15:01

Spring hope everything is going ok. Thinking of you. Baby spring won't even remember this in a week so try not to worry too much. Easier said than done I know.

HarrietJones · 18/04/2011 15:03

I had 2 GAs & sections & fed both times. I assumed the anaesthetist would know about that & spring had been given advice by someone who wasnt aware. Maybe it's something to do with the op rather than the anaesthetic

SpringFlowers · 18/04/2011 19:46

Am ok. Feel beaten up and exhausted. Staying in as just feel awful. Opiates in general anaesthetic mean no feeding for 48 hours. Anaesthetist really seemed to know what he was doing. Cyst was twisted although I had no pain and ovary was at risk. All organs however in tact and good shape when I'm ready for dc#4. Silver lining there but distant! Thanks for being lovely all of you. Too tired and sore to express milk. DH having tricky time - R will not take milk as yet.

TysonSnowflower · 18/04/2011 19:53

So happy to see you are ok spring, thinking of you x

HarrietJones · 18/04/2011 20:39

That's good spring. Didn't realise you were only in for the day, enjoy your rest. Thought of R at teatime when dd3 had melon, it might get some fluid in via the fruit?

tiredfeet · 18/04/2011 20:39

Glad you are ok spring. Hope you feel a bit better in the morning. Really sorry to hear about dd not taking milk yet, must be horribly stressful for all of you.

HarrietJones · 18/04/2011 20:42

Oh & get peppermint tea for you to drink as it helps with trapped wind when your stomach feels rough from the poking about
