Doctors was fine. I already knew I wasn't anemic as I had bloods done at the hospital on Monday. I am having further tests and my blood pressure was a little low. I've got to keep my fluid in take up and rest a lot to see if that makes a difference. I think it's stress related but need to make sure.
Re feeding during surgery, I've talked it over with health visitor and nurse at hospital. There is some, but not enough, expressed milk in the freezer and we have follow on formula on standby. The hospital have fridge space and a microwave for heating and will help if they can. R likes petit filous which is equivalent to a 3oz feed and discovered pureed melon today - it is almost liquid enough to put in a cup. Our main aim is to prevent dehydration. We expect it to be really tricky especially overnight. She usually sleeps with me but won't be able to the first night as I will be woozy from the anaesthetic. DH is prepared to take her out in the pram or car and will sit it out. I'm probably going to just have to sleep. As long as I keep expressing I can start feeding at about 3pm on day two. I'm then expecting R to be quite demanding and to feed constantly. This will be tough with a sore tummy and the tiredness but will keep my milk supply going. I'll be very glad when it is this time next week.
Someone asked about holidays - we are driving to France (mad I know!), quite a way down nearish La Rochelle in May. Our new car was supposed to be here in time but has been delayed so we have to hire one. What a faff!
Weaning is going ok, R doesn't like breakfast foods particularly but is enjoying lunch more. I'm really weaning so that she can gave some food over the surgery period. I think she would have been happy to wait a bit longer. How are your babies managing swallowing with blw? R hates any lumps going down and gets panicky.
I'm stopping now, this has been a mammoth post!
