hello all long time no posting.

Well it's all been a bit of a nightmare here. Ive had 2 funerals (dh's uncle and grandad) and my sisters marriage break up all in the space of 10 tens. I 've been diagnosed with depression which is no surprise really as I have been struggling since chimpy was born but guess I was in denial...but the good news is I'm on the tabs and starting to feel much better and waking up looking forward to each day again. yay!

Maisiemog my dh has been working near Edingburgh this week and he has been sooo cold. wearing three t-shirts...he is a southern softie

Chimpy is still happy crawling and walking around the furniture. He has me in stitches most of the time. He is just so cheeky. He had taken to hiding behind the chair when he's done a poo and refusing to come out and be changed. Thank god he's not in to taking his own nappy off like some of the babas here. We also have two top molars through which makes ten teeth in all...full xmas dinner for the chimpster to chomp then!. ]

Well better get on

hope everyone ok.

superblastofflips · 19/11/2005 12:11

riebee - sorry to hear about you having a crappy time.... ive had depression for years - unknown the cause - and since baba was born its seems to be spiralling downward as i think ive got mild PND but i dont want to be on tabs incase i be addicted to them - ive start taking st john tabs, im gonna finish them off but it doesnt seems to be working!!! ive out my name down for counselling so gotta wait for 6 mths - im gonna put a complaint in it cos ive waited altogether for over a year and the counsellors cocked it up as they thought i didnt need counselling but i havent even been yet!!!!

i feel so worned out and knackered and my mood changed like that as i can be all happy and had a gud day and one slight thing it triggers my bad moods off! - i hate it!

Riebee · 19/11/2005 17:39

well we've just spent a pleasant afternoon in A&E!
The chimpster decided to throw himself backwards and dh grabbed him by the arm to catch him and the doctors reckoned that chimpy might have pulled his elbow out. by the time we were seen though it had appeared to corrected itself, the doctors says this can happen quite easily. He seems to have recovered now as he's just removed every single tissue out of the box with his bad arm

Super...this will be the third time that I have
been treated for depression. Each time I have been prescribed tablets and the longest I have taken them is for six months and I have always been able to come off them without any problems. The doctor always tells me that you take medication for just about every other illness and depression is just another illness but having said that it always takes until I am really low before I take myself off to the doctor. If I am honest I should have gone right after chimpy was born but I guess better late than never.I find that the tablets just keep me on an even keel on a daily basis instead of big highs and lows and always trying to drag myself from the depths of despair....ooh thats sounds a bit dramatic

maisiemog · 19/11/2005 21:35

Hugs to Riebee and Biglips. I'm so sorry to hear about all your losses Riebee, but I'm glad to hear you are feeling better about getting up in the morning.
I think having a baby is such a shock to the system, with all the worry and lack of sleep, it's surprising that every mum doesn't suffer from PND. I certainly feel I have changed since having Alfie, much more inward looking and withdrawn. I think focussing on all the everyday trivia helps me get through bad days, apart from the days when I just end up lying about and achieving nothing much. Apart from bringing up my son.
Now is Chimpy doing the poo behind the sofa and hiding or is he just protecting the poo in his nappy?
Alfie would not sleep last night, despite no nap all day. Finally we checked his nappy at around 3am, despite no smell. His poor peepee was all puffed up and red with a sore on it. Ow!! DP looked horrified.
The minute the nappy was off, he was happy again, but walking like John Wayne.
He is on the mend now though, so he may still have a family.

superblastofflips · 20/11/2005 15:31

riebee - ouch!... i remember it nearly happened to baba as she was happily sitting on my knee facing me (she was 5 mths old then) and DP was talking to me, as i wasnt looking at baba she decided to do a somersault off my knee when i was still holding her hands but lucky i wasnt holding her hands firmly enough to twisted her both arms - Dp was mortified!!

superblastofflips · 20/11/2005 15:32

riebee- which tabs you on? and did you wean off them slowly or just stopped taking them?

superblastofflips · 20/11/2005 15:56

oh the baba can now walk backwards - michael jackson impression !!

Riebee · 21/11/2005 12:19

Super..I am on 20mg of fluoxetine (prozac) I have been prescribed these 3 times and take one once a day and then after a few months I cut down to every other day and then a couple of times a week until I wean myself off all together. I've never had any problems with them. I have given up trying to work out why I get depressed the first time was due to an abusive relationship but at the moment at face value I have absolutely no reason to be but I have found there is no rhyme or reason to it. It happens I treat it and I get better

Maisiemog..no chimpy is not leaving poos behind the sofa THANK GOD! I do think he likes a little privacy when he's in motion so to speak hence the hiding.

Had card through to take him for mmr this morning I've got to make appt for week of 27th! In a bit of a flap I thought I would have more time. I think I will go ahead though and get it out the way...Yikes!

maisiemog · 21/11/2005 17:50

Alfie's MMR reminder came today, it's for the 27th, he won't even be 13 months then, so I'm going to put it off. I like to put his stuff back because he was early and he's a bit little.
Did anyone see the House of Tiny Tearaways last night, there is a little boy on it called Taro, who is 1 apparently - he is HUGE! He looks about 6 inches taller than Alfie.

hotmama1 · 22/11/2005 13:32

Afternoon girls.

Trumpet call - dd did her first unaided step yesterday - so she should be running nicely when dd2 arrives after Christmas.

I'm putting off the MMR until after Christmas as dd is a bit snotty at the moment - and if she is feeling a bit crappy when she has the jab - I will be on maternity leave so she can stay at home.

Got my physio appt for my back - teach me for having 2 pregnancies close together.

Snap with the tantrums! What a noise if she can't get her own way - you would have thought she had been stabbed with pins. (However, dd hasn't reckoned with mummy being a hard cow - so I know who will win - hurrah for Supernanny!)

at the moonwalking baba!

cazzybabs · 22/11/2005 20:09

Hi Ladies - good to hear from some of you. Grace is currently sitting on Dady asking him to play with her toes - strange child. She has also developed a squeak when she wants something - its quite horrid!

All you preganant ladies - I am quite jealous! Inspite of back trouble etc.

At least it is warmer today - our house gets soo cold - our central heating is crap. Grace has started to wake up up at 4am ... but (terrible mummy confesion) I just ignore her as it is too cold to get out of bed!

mum2sam · 22/11/2005 21:53

hiya everyone, at this rate all the baba's should be walking by xmas Sams had two haircuts already and is already long overdue for another but he runs away everytime I come near him with the scissors Sam is also into cd's, dvd's and anything with butttons. He has turned my freezer off twice Should I get a letter through the post about ds MMR he was 1 in october? I prob will have it done but theres still that little bit of doubt about how safe it is. I nearly cried when he had the first lot of jabs

superblastofflips · 25/11/2005 12:00

heelllloooo! everyone

well baba should've had her MMR yesterday but docs advsd me to cancel it (for the 5 th time) as baba is full of cold AGAIN!, but she is quite tearful today and her appetite had gone out of the windowmso trying to give her her bottle and plenty of water

feel sorry for her atm as she got 3 molars coming thru at the same time too so she is looking like this - plus a bright red nose to match!!

glad everyone is ok...

riebee - glad youre feeling better as ive gotta wait for my counselling as there are couple of things that i need to get it off my chest and one of them is my ex who used to mentally abused my head!! so gotta learn to forgive him and let go!)

mum2sam - what is he like your baba!!

maisiemog · 26/11/2005 00:21

Hi all,
yay! I'm getting broadband next week - or so they say. I've gone for UKOnline, which is supposed to be unlimited downloads and 1mb for £9.99. Sounds too good to be true, but we will see. Does anyone else use them?
SO hopefully I'll be able to become a sad internet newsgroup mummy again.
Alfie is getting two more teeth, so that's 6 teeth. Our MMR is Monday, but I'm going to phone and put it back, hopefully they won't have another date until after Christmas.
Still no hair?!
Poor baba, kisses to all the sick babies, hope they are all on the mend soon.
Alfie has been waking up early with a sore willy, he seems to be getting nappy rash a lot more recently. Poor old boy, it looks all puffy and red. I've tried all the creams and all the nappies, but it looks like he will have to get through it.
We bought a potty/seat thing at an NCT sale last week, so he did a pee on that, but no luck since. Worth a try though, at least it gives his bits a rest.

superblastofflips · 29/11/2005 15:17

glad youre coming back on maisiemog...

mine is recovering now from her snotty weekend and is alot better today.. for the past 2 mths of the cold that she had.. she had gone thru a whole bottle of calpol which is a miracle for me

still no hair.... my dds hair is still growing but in a sssllllloooooooowwwwww pace!! - hurray up i wanna put a cutie clip in her hair or put hair in bunches..

riebee- im gonna talk to dp about me having a go on the ads as i was offered 3 yrs ago but i never took them so fingers cross.. see what happens.. hope youre ok btw?

AND everyone else

cazzybabs · 29/11/2005 20:34

Superblastofflips I m putting dd2 MMR off too...she seems so young.

She is play eating a cake to avoid having her nappy on..she is so wize she won't be conned to coming to you if she knows someone is going to get her to put a nappy on. She stands just out of reach. She has just been giving me huge snooty dribbly kisses - YUCK! And now dp is putting her happy on =- ohh its all fun in the cazzybabs household.

maisiemog · 29/11/2005 22:31

Well, we haven't sorted out the broadband yet, so I'm still on dialup slooow...
We have been iiilll! I started to throw up yesterday and was burning up, then dp was boiling. No sleep at all, but Alfie was alright. What's that about?
Now I'm like a wrung out cloth, and have just had my first meal today - of chicken soup.
Alfie is such a baldycoot as well Biglips.
His latest things are putting things inside other things, even if one is obviously too big to fit. He has started playing on his own with his shape sorter and his stacking hen, without me going 'look Alfie, this goes on here'
What do you guys feed your babies in a normal day?
At the moment Alfie is having for brek - one weetabix with milk and some fruit puree and yoghurt (left from the previous night,),
for lunch - either some of our food smashed up, or 1 egg scrambled with some cheese and two or three oatcakes, or one slice of cheese on toast with tomatoes plus some fruit and maybe yoghurt or half a rusk,
then at night he gets either some of our food from the previous night, or a jar plus yoghurt and homemade fruit puree.
During the day he normally has fruit snacks like a couple of pieces of pear cut into quarters, and or half a rusk.
He can still be a bit fussy with stuff and only eat a small amount before wanting to get down from his chair. So half the time I think he's either eating too much or too little.

geogteach · 30/11/2005 18:35

Well today DS2 has had a weetabix with his yukky formula, a few cheerios and bits of pitta bread, more cheerios for snack, curried sweet potato soup and a banana for lunch, fruit bar for snack, mashed potato and left over veggie chilli for tea with fruit puree. I try to feed him the same as the rest of us except when we have dairy or soya. At the moment he is wild foe satsumas and the pastry from my mince pies(which has probably got dairy, bad mummy!)

biglipskissinunderthemisteltoe · 01/12/2005 11:45

geog - i bet he enjoyed better having the same as you.. as ive been giving my baba the same since she was 9 mths old.

last nite baba had fishpie for tea and she loves it (cod fish fillets, mash, leeks and cheese) with beans

today up to now (my shopping had only arrived 5 mins ago so had nothing in) she had a bottle, and a whole banana for now (she got her cold so she aint that hungry atm)

im taking baba to a xmas party in 2 weeks time as she didnt go to the halloween one as couldnt find an outfit for her at thelast min (bad mummy)

biglipskissinunderthemisteltoe · 01/12/2005 11:46

my cold had finally came out properly and im ssssooooo ill!!

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 01/12/2005 22:52

baba is 14 months old today! (eek!) and she got a tantrum and a half esp when she is tired and she start lashing out and grabbing things and flung it on the floor!!!!

i find it quite funny but i dont show it to her

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 01/12/2005 22:54

BUT it was my fault as i was brushing her teeth last nite and then i gave the brush to her.. she was walking around the room with it in her mouth so i decided to take it off her and tried to give her summat yet but all failed

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 02/12/2005 12:38

baba had me laffing this morning as i was hoovering up and i also emptied her playpen to hoover up the broken biscuit, so i did that and baba wanted to do it too, so she hoovered it up too and enjoyed it but 3 times the hoover was stuck on her face - BAD MUMMY!! but i couldnt help laffing at her!!

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 02/12/2005 16:27

ive put 2 different piccys of DD under the member profiles

(ive just got round using the camcorder as getting the hang of it so will be putting more piccys on soon)
