I BF dd1 till she was 2 and 3 months so I know I shall be sad when I come to stop feeding Gracie, atlhough it is less fun at the mo when she comes over and pulls my top up.

On another random aside that I couldn't dream of telling anyone in real life I started my AF today - since having Grace I had one in August and then none until today - not that I am complainning, but it is kind of reassuring to know I am not having a baby and I will still fit into my wedding dress - now the big question if when can I trick dp into trying for another one!!!!

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 12/12/2005 22:20

oh eye.. youre thinking about having another one! as i want to have another one but gotta find job first and then hopefully everything settled by the time baba is 2.5 yrs old

maisiemog · 14/12/2005 19:26

Ooo Reibee, you must be feeling extremely tired. Have you run your own business before?
Poor old Chimpy not getting a feed. They are very persistent aren't they?!
I am forming the impression that the girls on this thread are developing in different ways to the boys. First of all the girls all seemed to be walking before the boys. They also seem to be bonding with dollies and doing grown-up things. AND pulling up their mummies tops for feeds.
I reckon boys are a bit slow. Mind you we all knew that didn't we.
The most advanced thing Alfie does is play with his shape sorter and flush the toilet.
He's not sleeping at all at the minute. Last night he woke at around 10:30 and had a few 30 minute naps between then and 7am, when we had breakfast. He won't have naps, he just wakes up. I think he is getting molars - he has 2 bottom incisors and four uppers. Do babies have canine teeth?
He also has an upset tum and smells of eggs. Is this teething?

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 14/12/2005 19:37

Ooh maisie - make sure you give him 2 5ml of calpol as before i put my baba to bed, i give some to her and she sleeps thru the nite , not sure on the egg smell thing but then again my nose had been blocked for ages - cold

went to nans today and she told me that her dog bites little ones!!, before i know it, the dog bit my baba's finger... my tummy did a somersault and i felt sick after that.. i felt sick till dp reassured me that its ok ... mummy gives loads of kissys on her finger!!

florenceuk · 14/12/2005 20:31

Cazzybabs I'm still bf, and my DD pulls my top up as well - cheeky thing. So we pretty much feed on demand during the day, luckily she is sleeping from 8pm-6am now, yippee. She seems to be a good eater so not too worried on that front. However was planning to give up before the summer purely from a selfish point of view as am sick of breastfeeding bras (having worn one for 4 yrs now) and how they restrict what you wear - not very PC I know.

Maisiemog the egg smell thing sounds bad - I had eggy burps when I had giardia (tummy bug) and it sounds like your poor DS has something wrong with his tum. In which case calpol won't make much difference, but if he is not well within the next few days maybe go to GP esp if egg smell persists. His next teeth should be the two matching bottom teeth, then I think it is the molars.

Hope all the sick babies feel better soon! DD is getting a little shopping basket and some plastic veges and fruit for Xmas - as she likes putting things in and out of boxes. This postie game is actually quite fun too: pop it in the post not that DD does the matching, she just puts them through the slot and pulls them back out again!

maisiemog · 15/12/2005 00:24

Florence, I think you're right about the tummy thing. It has really only been bad today, so I'm hoping it settles tomorrow. He has had two bananas and some scrambly egg, so I'm hoping that lot will bind him.
He usually has 5mls of medised at bedtime if he's teething. He's a bit of a pickle just now though and not himself at all. Might just phone the gp tomorrow and pop round with him for a bit of a checkup. He's been hot and clammy too, but on and off. I keep thinking 'Oh he's alright now' and then later 'Ooo he's a bit hot' and so on. I hate taking him to the doctors, they never seem to do very much and it seems such a faff. I suppose that's better than them gasping and saying they are booking us into the nearest hospital.
I like the sound of the veggie basket, Alfie would love that, he would sook all the veggies and then put the basket on his head.
I don't think that dog sounds very good. Is it trained to discriminate about the it's victims, so it only bites people under 2 feet high. How do you train a dog to bite only little ones. It must take months. I hope baba's finger is back to normal, and she isn't put off dogs.

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 15/12/2005 12:35

well just came back from the Xmas party for baba and she loved it (as usual centre of attention showing off!! ) BUT there was a boy who was dressed up as a Dog and baba went over probably thought it was a real dog till the kid turned round and said "Woof Woof" to baba, baba went all and started to wail!!! but she kept on following it and getting all upset!

i woke up early this morning about what had happened yesterday at my nans - still feeling sick every time i think about it!!

maisie - my baba loves her foods but she put nearly everything in her hair !! so her hair goes all stiff and raised up like a fright!!

KathH · 15/12/2005 19:48

Biglips - hope dd is ok and not too traumatised by dogs for life! Knowing my luck it would be the other way round and moley would take a chunk out of the dog!

Masiemog - hope Alfie's ok. Moley quite often has phases like this when he's teething - he's got loads of teeth and is permanently teething. I'm sure by the time he's done he'll have about 50!

Put the Christmas CD on tonite and Moley was grooving to it but he cant work out how to move his legs to dance and only dances from his bum upwards.

Hope everyone's ok.

maisiemog · 16/12/2005 00:38

Haha! I can just see Moley grooving. I bet he's quite a little mover.
Now Alfie's got a rash, but he is right as rain, bur tired. He was all smiles today, just like normal. It was weird before, he was like Rainman. 'Uh Oh' 'Charlie Babbit'. He just stared at me blankly and was eerily quiet, when he wasn't whinging.
I think it might be Roseola or something - read about it on Babycentre. Has anyone's baby had that?
His tummy's fine now though.
Alfie is jealous of baba with her luxuriant food hair style.

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 16/12/2005 07:11

ive never heard of it maisie- hope alfie is ok??

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 16/12/2005 07:12

kathh- awww poor moley as my baba got her tongue permantly sticking out as its probably to get the cool air to go inside her mouth!

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 16/12/2005 07:13

thanks everyone as i feel better today - naughty doggy!! (little shit!!)

KathH · 17/12/2005 20:26

Biglips - just read your other thread, how's things?

Riebee · 18/12/2005 19:02

Hope everyone ok...sick babies, nasty dogs and all.

Well bad news on the shop front...the council decided to let the unit it to the other party after apparently opting for the more traditional approach . I just think its narrow mindedness but hey ho the search continues for the perfect shop < sobs quietly in the corner>.

The chimpster is doing well. I am very impressed with his self control over the christmas tree. I was convinced he would rip it to shreds but he is very gentle with it. I do though have to repeat what the decorations are as he points to each in turn.'thats a star, icicle, bauble, star, icicle bauble' I am begining to wish I had more variety on the decoration front

Im counting the days down until Friday as thats when my lovely dh gets home from Kuwait... yay! I haven't been able to talk to him much as it's so expensive and considering he works from home most of the time I'm having severe husband withdrawal.

Right of to make a holly wreath for the front door...ooh how festive, think I'll scoff a mince pie or two while I'm at it

KathH · 18/12/2005 19:53

Riebee - moley has no self control when it comes to the tree and dismantles it on a regular basis, at least ten times an hour. Enjoy your mince pies - quite fancy one or two myself!

maisiemog · 18/12/2005 19:55

Hi all,
Sorry to hear your pooey old council are rubbish at making good decision Riebee. I'm sure you'll find a much better shop. What shop is it? Are you opening a branch of ChimpsRUs, with lots of chimp accessories.
We were supposed to be making decorations from twigs and stuff, but dp has lost interest. His mum brought us some pine bits for a wreath, but not enough, so we might have to sneak out at night and cut some bits off a tree.
Alfie is totally not sleeping!! He's in bed going 'Aaahaahaaaaaaaaaaah' I think it's his teeth. Plus when he was having dins, he saw a roses chocolate on the floor and picked it up. When I removed it from his had he went WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! So I gave him the sweetie - I felt sorry for him. Then dp gave him a bit of sweetie too, so that he would like him as well. Now I think the sugar is contributing to all the noise from the bedroom.
Go to sleep Alfie!!!
I'm off to watch The House of Tiny Tearaways AKA Teeny Tiny Tums (in my house).

maisiemog · 18/12/2005 19:59

Mince pies! Yuck! That's not a jealous face, it's a 'feeling sick' face.
Our tree is on high, on the dinner table, can't find a star small enough to fit on top without making a hole in the ceiling. I don't think our upstairs neighbours would want a star sticking through their floor. They are very conventional.

maisiemog · 18/12/2005 22:09

Right I've just watched teenytinytums and I'm feeling sorry for the eldest children. There's a little boy of 7 who is scarily articulate, in the most unpleasant way. I hope Alfie doesn't get too cheeky (yeah right )
Can I just ask unrelated to babies, but did anyone see X Factor? Any opinions on Shane? I loved Andy's voice and thought he outsang Shane, but thought Shane outperformed Andy. I think Shane had a lot more confidence.
But I really don't like Shane, it's strange, but I feel he is totally disingenuous and weasly.
Is it just me that watches sooo much TV since Alfie was born?

Riebee · 19/12/2005 13:57

Maisiemog...my shop is a smallish cafe for parents and their under 7's where poor old Mummy's like us can still enjoy a civilised coffee in starbucks atmosphere whilst the little ones crawl about on a small softplay area Just something to keep them entertain for a bit while you stuff your face with cake and latte...ooh how decadent. The council didn't seem to keen and opted for 'a more traditional cafe operator'..arses. Obviously not had any children rampaging through their latte recently

jinglebadbells · 19/12/2005 19:16

Hello,
Hope everyone is organised for xmas, I have finally sold my flat but we are still waiting to hear about our mortgage for our house so we are "homeless". Luckily we have been able to move in with dp's mum. bit of a pain but at least i get on with her!!!

Still no results from ds's tests at moorfields 6 weeks ago! Have been trying to chase them but the person i need to speak to is never there!

He is doing really well though, he is 14 months old today now weighs 16lb! He has been doing a couple more rolls too and his head control is really coming along. So pleased with him, he has gone back to sleeping through and he is in his own room round here too!!!

jinglebadbells · 19/12/2005 19:20

Just added a recent pic of ds "my lovely little cutie" taken at nursery when the photographer came.

geogteach · 20/12/2005 19:33

So is DS2 the only one not walking for christmas then? Seems quite happy to crawl / cruise around the place. He seems to have become much harder work recently as he is obsessed with cupboard emptying and is less content to sit in the buggy or car seat than he used to be. His first words are 'get out' which he uses whenever he wishes to be released! He is also mince pie obsessed, I haven't bought myself to look at the label as i'm sure he shouldn't be eating them but he would kill for the sight of a foil wrapper!

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 21/12/2005 08:41

hiya everyone - ive been so busy shopping (dont wanna shop anymore!!)

just a question - how often and how many ozs does your baba have for her milk per day?

geogteach · 21/12/2005 10:14

6oz twice a day

florenceuk · 21/12/2005 10:28

JB very cute pic! He looks very alert.

Biglips, DD is BF and is feeding lots at the moment - I am not too worried as she seems to be eating (solids) OK, well, apart from rejecting all her veges. I think two bottles a day is about the norm, or maybe one more in the pm.

Is anyone else's DD/S demanding the spoon and refusing to eat if spoonfed? DD now refuses to be fed her breakfast or yoghurt (lunch and tea are finger food stuff now otherwise it would all be a nightmare).

We got a Xmas tree in the weekend. DD very interested, but all the decorations are up at the top of the tree - looks a bit weird but stops her from grabbing them. After a few initial tugs at the lights, she seems to returned to more interesting things like the CD rack and the kitchen cupboards.

Riebee, I'd go to your cafe! Where are you? There is a soft play centre near us in Earlsfield called "its a kids thing" which promises good coffee and food AND soft play - we've been there a few times. The coffee is not fantastic but a vast improvement on the competition.
