biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 02/12/2005 22:08

baba can now say "peek a boo" "thank you" and "wha!" (in her sounds of words of course as she does the same pattern as the grown up words)

maisiemog · 03/12/2005 00:31

I love that picture of baba with her top on her head. I hope you got it off. Or is she still wearing it?
I put on a photo of Little Alf in the bath
here
Alfie say Ta! Ta! Ta! Ta! for hours on end, even when you're not giving him something - he practices.
Hope everyone's ok?
We're making a Christmas wreath, is anyone making decorations?
What are you all doing for Christmas?
Has anyone been watching "House of Tiny Tearaways" this week, it's been rivetting. I'm off to watch the last one now, stayed up specially.

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 03/12/2005 10:03

yeah maisie - ive been watching the programme too (just summat to learn) did you see the 4 or 5 yrs old boy who lives on jars foods for 4 mths and 7 months old babies??? and the blonde mum (who used to be a druggie) was forever fussing over him every time he was trying to eat.. i felt sorry for that kid!

yeah im making cards for this xmas as its my hobby (and to keep me sane too )

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 03/12/2005 11:18

doesnt your alfie sit in a baby seat?? as mine does its crap as the suck bits underneath the seat doesnt stick onto the bath and poor baba fell out of it last nite !!

maisiemog · 03/12/2005 19:24

Hi Biglips, I think that little boy was about three, as I remember them saying that all the boys were around the same age - between 2 -3.
I was crying all the time watching HOTT last week. I did feel sorry for the little boy, but I also felt sorry for his mum - she had been through such a rough time.
It's amazing how a baby's first few weeks of life can totally affect how they are treated by their parents.
Alfie just sits on a (stinky) bath mat. Sometimes he moves off it and slips all over the place, but I'm always there so he's cool.
He went back to swimming again and once again was the most crazy, splashing around maniac baby of the bunch. He was so cold when he got out, his peepee was blue.
We have just got out the tree, but no decorations as yet.

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 03/12/2005 20:30

havent taken baba swimming for a while as while we are trying to shift this sodding cold since oct (As baba had 3 and i had 1 since oct!!) so will be taking her back as she loves it as last time i took her was before the kids went back to school and baba was going round in circles like bonkers!!

is anyone dressing their little ones this year? as im not sure but last year she had a santa dress on that her aunty had bought her

geogteach · 04/12/2005 18:54

No bath seat here either, he always got stuck in the damn thing, by the time he has one or both of his siblings in there there isn't much room to fall over!
Swimmimng is a regular feature here and he is the most laid back baby in the class, just lies there floating on his back, teacher reckons he's going to fall asleep one week
What are you putting in your 14 month old's stocking, i'm a bit uninspired, he'd be happy with a kilo of satsumas but not sure I could face the trauma in the nappy department

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 04/12/2005 18:59

geog - as he probably sunbathing in the swimming pool!!

im not bothering the stocking as yet but ive also got her touch n feel books as she is obessed with books!! and baby dolls too!!

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 04/12/2005 19:00

geog - have you got any piccys of your little one?

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 05/12/2005 09:32

yawn!!!! baba woke me up 3 times last nite as i think she is teething badly as 3 of her molars are coming thru and a 4th one is coming thru too.

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 05/12/2005 09:34

as all weekend she was clingy and whingy to me and dp and looks really sleepy! (poor thing)

maisiemog · 05/12/2005 18:31

Alfie isn't too bad with sleep. He only wakes up once or twice between 7pm and 9am the next day, and I'm up anyway, until about 12:30.
He had to get an eyetest, to see if he had a squint (dp's brothers both had them), and was completely beserk in the opticians office, which was probably down to being tired.
Anyway, they kept talking about him getting glasses, and I was thinking he would look like an owl, but he escaped with a return visit in 6 months.

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 05/12/2005 18:33

aww poor alfie as i remembered mine when she had a hearing test when seh was 4 mths old and couldnt keep still or be quiet!! so i had to returned all the way back the following day..

maisiemog · 07/12/2005 19:03

Hellllooooo!!!!!
I'm still struggling to get the broadband, have pesky dialup!!
UKOnline, so far it's been 'please press 2 if you want to listen to some horrible music and then be cut off'
I actually got through the other night and recording said 'Please phone tomorrow as we are experiencing technical difficulties tonight'
Then I realised it was a person. There was a big silence and then I said.
'Oh! OK!' and hung up.
I bet I never get my connection fee back.
Please press 3 if you never want your connection fee back...horrible music...
Hope you're all well.
Riebee where are you??
biglips, well done you for never giving up despite the complete silence

geogteach · 08/12/2005 19:20

Lack of pictures is due to 'technical difficulties', desk top hasn't worked for months and laptop so ancient that can't connect to camera. Have got broadband though masie though perhaps I wouldn't waste so much time on here if I didn't!

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 10/12/2005 14:28

here is a piccy from last nite - baba havin a bath!

cazzybabs · 10/12/2005 21:30

Hi ladies - hope you are well...god I have missed Mumsnet ..I have been so busy that I haven't read it for ages )not that anyone missed me ).

We are getting 2 kittens - am very excitited and have spent lots of money buying beds and bowels and a litter tray - very excititng.

That and getting ready for Xmas - wondering what on earth I buy from FC to go in Grace's stocking and what to buy an 18 year old.

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe that photo is soo cute.

Grace also loves her bath and cries when she has to get out!

How many of you are still breast feeding? When are you planning on giving up? I shall have to have stopped by the time I get married because we are going away without the children .

Hope you are well and are avoiding colds and flus etc.

geogteach · 10/12/2005 21:47

Don't kittens come with their own bowels?!

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 10/12/2005 22:18

bowels!!! - sorry cazzy couldnt resist that!

yeah mine had recovered from her cold but now ive got it! but thats the joy of being a parent!

cazzybabs · 11/12/2005 10:19

OHH our kittens are extra special - w has to buy them theior own internal organs!

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 11/12/2005 10:25

cazzy - ... let me know how you get on with them? - Have fun! and im surely your little one will have fun too (let hope she wont be pulling their little tails)

i went into babas bedroom to take her downstairs this morning and her cot had sh*t all over as she had a runny poo this morning and had taken off her sleepsuit- what a pong!

time to dunk her in the bath!

huppa · 12/12/2005 08:50

Cazzybabs - kittens - you must be mad, but I´m sure you´ll have loads of fun with them.
I actually gave ds his last breast feed yesterday. I had only planned to feed him for a year, but didn´t get round to stopping until now. There was no real reason for stopping - I just felt it was the right time for me. He didn´t seem to notice at all, which was good really, but I did feel a bit sad that he didn´t seem to mind at all. Maybe by the time you get married you´ll be happier about stopping and a break without kids will be brilliant.

Hope everyone´s o.k and looking forward to Christmas.

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 12/12/2005 08:52

well done Huppa as stopped BF...some women cant do it as they cant seem to break that bond, iykwim!

maisiemog · 12/12/2005 13:05

How lovely, stuffable kittens. They might make nice pyjama cases too, if there's any space left.
I'm still breastfeeding. I read that two years are the current WHO guidelines and American Pediatric Soc guidelines. Not going to argue with them.
Alf is still feeding at night and two or three times during the day, plus cups of water, Oh, and cow's milk when I'm at work.
I wouldn't want to stop before he is ready, so will let Alfie dictate. I imagine he will cut down himself, over time. It will be nice to wear a proper bra again.
Very cute bath piccie biglips. She's very cute.
I don't think Alfie could care less what we buy him for Christmas, he would probably be happy with an oatcake and and old mobile phone.
18 year olds I think might be tricky. I would post over on the teenagers bit of mumsnet, to see what those parents advise?

Riebee · 12/12/2005 17:56

Hello all.

I haven't been on for ages......my life is just mad at the moment.
Right where to start.....The most important thing is that the Chimpster did 3 steps today. he walked from his Daddy to me and we were so surprised we didn't register it for a few seconds. Then we made him do it again.
Well life has been hectic with me. I rent out my old two bed house and I have a new tenant moving in on 22nd so have had to redecorate the whole thing and put a new bathroom in all the space of a week as my dh flies off to Kuwait tomorrow until 23rd Got to clean the house next and clean the carpets then I can start to think about Christmas...thank god I've bought most of my presents early this year.
The other big thing is I've put in an offer for a retail premises for my business project and I'm waiting to hear if I've been sucessful or not. Apparently it was between me and another in a head to head and it all depends who the council opt for....yikes! not heard anything yet so hoping for the no news is good news scenario.

I'm still b/f. Have been thinking of calling it a day as I've think I've done it for long enough but it appears the chimp has other ideas and is showing absolutely no sign of giving up. I have been trying to sleep train him the last couple of nights as I am sick of only having about 4hrs sleep a night. I refused to feed him from 11pm last night until 5am this morning. He was not a happy chimpster but I feel really pleased with myself as I have always given in before now. Maybe we will have a sleeping baby when his daddy comes home

Sorry for the long post...nice to be back on line.
