i was starting to worry that everyone vanish on here and i was talking to myself!!! so glad ya all back.

does any of your babas likes playing with other babas or do they play on their own cos they dont know how to play together? as baba likes to play most of her time on her own...

jbad - glad your baba is getting well

maisie - hooray the boiler is fixed

kathh- have you been on the holiday yet??

well i was supposed to take baba to have her MMR yesterday but she is full of cold - again - as she had it the day after her birthday and was getting better, then 2 days before she was due to have her MMR, we went to my friends house and it felt like a boiler.. so i think our bodies went into shock when we came out of the house into the MILD weather as i was shivering.. the following day we were both full of cold. (its not good for the friends baba as i didnt have the heating on full blast when baba was in but make sure she had her little hat on and mittens...)

baba just about to fit in 12-18 months old clothes BUT in bodysuits and sleepsuits she is better in 9-12 months old (dont ask me why!)

hi guys ... been trying to get dd to sleep since 7:30pm and she is not having any of it!

i did leave her to cry for a bit and did the controlled crying thing but she got herself in such a state she threw up everywhere ...

have tried numerous times but as she isnt grouchy i've let her carry on playing and will take her up with me

dp is away this weekend so i'm putting it donw to that. althought her sleep has gone a bit off track lately - any one else having this problem - dd seems really clingy and doesnt want to be left in a room alone!

spookylips · 14/10/2005 22:57

my baba had only just gone to bed as she was flat out at 7pm till 7.30pm in her cot till she heard her sis came in at 7.30pm and was wide awake till now!!! her sis had already gone to bed at 9pm!

oh and baba headbutted (back of her head) poor DP's mouth so he got a split lip atm and is looking ill too (he wasnt a happy chap!)

im still trying to put baba in bed when i want her but its working a tiny bit!! (but im not patience!!)

spookylips · 14/10/2005 22:58

slave - did she have any sleep today? as my baba only had 1 hour sleep (i wont let her sleep more than 1.5 hours in the day but she is having 9 - 10 hours sleep thru the nite)

Happy birthday to all you october babba's. Ds was on the 5th the day after mine. My dh took me for the birthday meal that I never actually made it to last year as my waters broke just has we were heading out the door ds was born 00.04! Ds had a lovely quiet birthday just very close family.I cant believe how fast it has gone. I really want to try for a little girl now although the thought of coping with two young children seems quite daunting. Has anyones babba just started walking yet ds is still just cruising.

Slave2Babe · 14/10/2005 23:04

spooky - she had about 1.5 hours in total, which is what she normally has. and i've stopped her sleeping after 3pm (tip from the hv to get her to sleep better at night - worked a treat on dd).

she's sat on my lap now trying to press keys ... awake as anything and not even rubbing of eyes or yawns!

gonna take her up now i think

spookylips · 14/10/2005 23:05

dd's walking is coming along brilliantly - she sometimes gets over excited and breaks out into a bit of a run (the momentum usually gets too much and she crashes forwards into things!) ...

one of the lads i work with caught her on camera the other day (5mb)

spookylips · 14/10/2005 23:10

so its gonna be a busy weekend then

same here as my DPs is on the 24th Sept and baba is exactly a week later (her due was 19th sept) and mine is on 8th nov (im gonna be skint! )

Moley!! Yes, did you go to the Canaries yet? I'm dreading a flight with nutty boy. I think Moley sounds very like Alf (a curious child - that drives mummy wild). He empties all the cupboards and drawers in the kitchen and reaches up to winkle things off the surfaces with his fingers.
Spooky (I sound like Scooby Doo) I think at around 12 months babies are involved in parallel play, where they play alongside other babies. Apart from when they are trying to cuddle them ala Alfie the extremely over-affectionate baby.
That baby is so funny slave, she is certainly whizzing around, maybe she will be a runner when she grows up.
We were supposed to start parent/baby yoga this week, but I put it off in case I had to pay for the immersion heater.
as anyone been to this?
I think it sounds highly implausible, can't imagine it occupying nutty boy for long. I reckon it will be lots of new mums with 3 month old babies except for my little heffalump, who will probably tromple all over the babies and climb up the instructor's leg.
I might go along next week to try it out??

Slave2Babe · 15/10/2005 01:05

thanks maisie ... she's a real bubbly, happy baba ... has to be involved and always trying to 'help' me with everything

i used to go to a baby gym session but dd got too mobile and didnt like being kept still while i stretched her legs and arms around! she wanted to go and see what everyone else was doing

yoga might be good tho!

spookylips · 15/10/2005 13:06

maisie - let us know how it go on (i can imagine that your baba be squashing all those 3 months old baba as mine would)... mine is affectionate to us esp me as DP had to ask again and again for his cuddles and a kiss too, but most of the time she prefers to cuddle me (maybe ive got soft breasts and DP got solids one that is not comfy for baba!!! )

also is still after that poor child in the play centre as wanting cuddles off her (the poor child) as baba wont leave her alone!!.. also this little girl had a phone that baba got at home but baba probably got confused thinking it was hers and was trying to grab it off the little girl - the girl looks like this -

maisiemog · 15/10/2005 13:30

Hi Slave and Spooky, I think you may have a point. I don't think Alfie would be that keen on lying still for the class. The woman that runs it said we could come along to try the class before booking a block, so I think we might do that. See how it goes...
Alfie 'helps' me with his nappies. He wears cloth nappies, so when I put a poopy nappy in the loo to wash it off, he tries to grab it and swoosh it about. AAAARGH! He is still obssessed with flushing the toilet, he stands there pulling the handle, but he can't do it hard enough yet for a full flush.
I'm so glad I got rid of my toilet brush - I think he would have loved that.

spookylips · 15/10/2005 14:15

at maisie - mine is taking her nappy off when she can and she sits there with a naughty smile, looking at me, knowing that she shouldnt be doing that!! lucky you got rid of the toilet brush as your Alfie might get confused with his toothbrush and the toilet brush (yuck!)

yesterday my mum told baba "No" 3 times as she was trying to get the nappy off... then a minute later when i came downstairs she had taken them off again (a dry nappy) but weed all over it and her toys!!!

cazzybabs · 15/10/2005 19:53

Oh god - I think Grace has weed in all rooms and done other things!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (you won't want to come round to our house now!) Am supposed to be studing for my OU exam on Weds - but Grace makes it soo hard she is soo cute (well and the alore of Mumsnet).

Am really tired this week - hope I am not pregnant then I would never fit into my dress! Am slightly concerned as my AF seems to have disappeared. Had one - decided to go on minipill as still BF and haven't had another one since!

geogteach · 16/10/2005 19:13

Well Louis has had his first birthday, we ate chocolate cake in his honour while he had to make do with his allergy proof carrot one. He got loads of clothes and cars. His hair is now as long as his sisters! He seemed to be unphased by the 10 adults and 7 kids who came to help him celebrate. He is going to Madrid to meet his spanish relies on Thursday

spookylips · 16/10/2005 20:55
