Hi all

Jet - glad you have had a calmer weekend and bit of repsite. We had a bit of a family ho-hah here - my poor SIL has found out that her DH has had an affair, I just felt sick for her all weekend.

Loopy - grrrrr indeed! So frustrating when you are all geared up to talk about it!

Bit stressed as internal inspection here this week (of the educational rather than the gynaecological kind!) Talking of which I am recording OBEM for the first time tonight as I am sick of everyone talking about it and telling me how good it is!

A much calmer week here, thank goodness. My sister is back fron Australia so I'm catching up with her next week. William declared that she is 'my favourite friend' which is so sweet! He came to work with me on Monday and didn't like my year 11s at all - they are actually very lovely, but bigger than he was expecting I think!

Greedy - Shock at your Sil, I hope she's ok. Not a nice situation for her at all.

Have a good weekend all!

I went out on Saturday night, and drank, and danced! Haven't done that in ages Grin It was my friend's 30th (the one who lost a baby a couple of weeks ago) It was a surprise party, which we nearly cancelled, but she wanted to go out and somehow we pulled off the surprise element.

Trying to persuade William that he wants to go to the park - while it's sunny, but he wants to play with his trains. Bet when it rains he asks for the park Grin

Hi everyone hope you are all OK and good busy not stress busy. We are a bit of both here - my birthday last week and Ofsted coming next week. I was 35 and on Women's Hour it was on about geriatric mothers (35+!) Charming. Not that I am planning on another mind. All our senior managers appear to have taken leave of their senses and keep making us attend meetings and pep talks to prepare us when I actually JUST WANT TO DO SOME WORK!!! Sorry for shouting.

Jet - I had a night out in Leeds and wanted to go to sleep by the end of the night! But I was with my DH, dancing with the girls is defo the way forward to stay awake!

Greedy - Happy Birthday for last week!
Good luck with Ofsted! We are due and will get 2 days notice and SLT are going mental making us do a ridiculous amount of data analysis and work scrutinies. I am actually a little pissed off with my faculty leader who took 2 of my books from my room on a day I wasn't working to show to the rest of the faculty. She deliberately picked those ones as she knew they weren't up-to-date, but I wasn't at the meeting to defend myself, and she knew why they weren't up-to-date as we had discussed it in my line management meeting. Angry Thing is, we're doing so much of the other stuff, we have no time to plan!

Really busy here away from work too. We've decided we need a bigger house so have started to think about what we need to do before we put the house on the market. I have made a spreadsheet listing all the jobs, DIY, etc and reckon it will take us a year!! The house 2 doors down the road has been on the market for over a year, so I figure we needn't rush into anything.

Greedygirl · 09/02/2011 19:44

Oh I completely sympathise Jet, tis ridiculous the tizz that the managers all get in, which is then all passed down to you. I am actually putting Adam in nursery an extra day on Friday so that I can go into work on my day off cos I have had another day of running around trying to provide statistics etc. that I am sure I have already provided at some point before Hmm and Angry! I will very glad when it is over and then we can hopefully relax and enjoy spring.

Good luck with the house! I hate DIY and decorating but some people enjoy it, do you? Hard with little ones around though I imagine.

Weekend!
William has a cold: 'Are you snotty today, William?' 'Yes mummy, I am very poorly!' Typical man Grin
DD and I are going to see Swan Lake on ice with my mum and sister today, then out for dinner afterwards which should be lovely. Just having a chilled today before I hit the data analysis tomorrow.

Any plans for Valentine's Day? DH is working, but I thought I would cook a lovely meal in the evening, go to the posh butcher's to get some nice steaks, that sort of thing. He has offered to take me on a joint bungee jump! I suppose I asked for that by taking him tree trekking for our wedding anniversary last year Grin

Fantastic news Loopy!!! You must be so chuffed and feeling a bit more relaxed. Blimey - someone listened?!

I am properly hacked off with Ofsted week, been observed once and think will be "done" again tomorrow by a process of elimination then have to stay till 7 to do an open evening. I feel like sabotaging the whole event and telling all prospective student to feck off!

OP posts:
jetgirl · 15/02/2011 23:38

Loopy - that's brilliant news, I can well imagine how chuffed you are!

Greedy - I feel for you! When we had ofsted in 2004 it was the old style 5 day inspection, on day 2 (by which time I had been seen twice) we had open evening. Luckily for me, by the end of the day I had lost my voice and was told by my doctor not to even whisper for 7 days so missed the rest of the inspection! How was your observed lesson?

Our nursery has a new male staff member who is brilliant, the boys love him and William has declared him his favourite friend! When I arrived at 5:30 today he had 6 boys enthralled by paper aeroplane construction, normally they're running around the roon like mad things Grin

Greedygirl · 17/02/2011 12:44

They both went well thanks Jet - I got a good and then an outstanding so finished on a high (well apart from having to stay till 7!) But it is half term for me now and we are giving potty training a whirl which is defo inadequate at the moment!

OP posts:
jetgirl · 17/02/2011 21:17

Well done greedy! Grin at inadequate for potty training, we are giving it another go next week too. Enjoy half term otherwise, one more day to go for me

DH and I are having a weekend away this weekend, can't wait!

Greedygirl · 22/02/2011 20:04

Rescuing the thread from the second page!

Did you have a good night away Jet? How lovely.

Glad to report that potty training going OK with a few ups and downs (telling young and clearly disgusted staff in TK Max that your child has just had a wee on the floor of their shop is never going to be a highlight of the week!) but more than anything is just tiring constantly being on toilet watch!

Been to see LOM today and met little Patch - what a cutie! Nice to see the Nov 07 boys playing together again, it is a strange old world when you think of how we all met.
