Well, it seems as if the big guy upstairs has been listening. The doctors have redaignosed Dad based upon the fact that he has been showing improvement over the last fortnight. They now think he has something called ADEM (previously it was PML they diagnosed). They think, because of his MS and lymphoma, it will take a year to recover, and even then they don't know how much cognitive recovery there will be. It's like one of those miracles you never believe can happen. He seems to have forgotten his job - he told my mum that he is the captain of England! But he knows who we are. Grin

Loopy - wow, 34 weeks! In a purely selfish way, it would be lovely if your DD4 is born on 26th April - my birthday! But the first day of term would be a little inconvenient I guess! William was breech until 37 weeks - the day before my appt to book in for a CS if he had still been breech. I think subsequent babies tend to get into position later, or so I've possibly read somewhere. Hope your DD4 sorts herself out. Have you got names sorted? I think I would really struggle to come up with 4 girls' names that I liked!

Greedygirl · 23/03/2011 21:06

Hi everyone

Jet - that is good news! Nice to hear some positive news in these doom and gloom times. Must still be difficult for you all but sounds like you have a lovely family.

Loopy - didn't realise you were so far on! How exciting. An Easter baby! Hope you are getting some feet up opportunities.

Well we are knackered here in sunny Hull. Adam is fully potty trained but seems to have forgotten how to sleep through! I suppose this happens, one step forwards...He has a tickly cough too so that is not helping. He is so full on at the moment. The energy and the noise! Work not helping. Looking forward to some of these bank hols.

Jet - What wonderful news !

Loopy. I didn't realise you are due so soon ! I hope that baby get itself in the right place soon , I know how much you want and HB.

Greedy - Glad Adam is toilet trained. No such luck here and it is getting quite frustrating. It's battles and tantrums every step of the way. Even chocolate bribery was unsuccessful, " You can have my choc Mummy." At least it is good to know he's uncorruptable !

Patch is doing well. He really is poppet. We are starting weaning and I'm beginning to wind down the breast feeding.

We got a freind of ours and his two children from Tokyo coming to stay with us soon. His wife is staying but wants the children away from the radiation. He sounds emotionally battered.

Loopy - I have just had to read up on positions and now I know why you are Grin - brill! I was OP which is why I was Shock by the time he came out!

LOM - he has his moments still. T is going to go far. Adam would sell his own Grandma for a chocolate button. When do you guests arrive? I am sure they will appreciate a piece of rural heaven after everything they must have seen. The world has gone mad. Love to Patch and T. x

A day at the park, a picnic and some sunshine has put me back on the right track. Also Adam woke up about midnight but I took him to the loo then popped him back with no probs. I wonder if he is just waking up needing a wee. He does have a tendency to drink half the bath!

Greedygirl · 27/03/2011 21:42

Yep nighttime dryness here but don't know if it will last - everyone keeps telling me these things tend to backslide?!

My DD was just like Loopy's - didn't slide back but wasn't dry at night until 5 anyway. William is pretty much dry at night, just not during the day, however he has been really positive about the potty this week so we're going to grasp the opportunity while we can Grin

Loopy - it's so exciting getting ready for the new arrival, I loved this part of pregnancy for the anticipation, but hated the waiting, especially was both kept me waiting for so long!

lom- what a brilliant friend you are having your friends to stay from Japan. I can't begin to imagine what it must be like there at the moment.

Greedy - I didn't realise you were in Hull (Idon't know how this passed me by) DH's aunt and uncle live in Lincoln, next time we're that way I'll let you know!

I took William to visit Dad on Sunday, he complained that he hadn't seen Grandad for a long time, bless. He found the hospital a bit scary, but Dad looks much better which made things easier. However, he is very muddled - thinks John Major is prime minister, likes chocolate (after not eating it for 30+ years), and while he knows our names, isn't entirely sure who we are. He is happy though, which makes it easier for us! William told FIL on the phone 'Grandad is very poorly, but Granny is looking after him', so sweet.

Loopy - how did your meeting with the mw go? Had my fingers crossed for you!

Hope you all have a lovely relaxing day tomorrow Smile

Oh Loopy, that's rubbish. Sad Surely your mw can see that the rest of the team is satisfied with the decision, and presumably that includes consultant. What is her problem? Is DH back soon? If I were your way, i'd be bringing you tea and cakes Smile

Greedygirl · 06/04/2011 20:06

Hi guys

Rubbish Loopy! There's always one! I had a MW who was grimly determined to send me to hopsital with high blood pressure even though I had nothing of the sort. I hope you manage to get somewhere with it, totally sympathise with the whole too exhausted to complain feeling.

Jetgirl - you must let me know any time you are up in Lincoln again! We love Lincoln and there are some lovely farms in the area for kids. Would be nice to meet up in RL.

Well I have spent the day in a state of shock as my college has just advertised for a new vice principal and the salary is circa £75k!!! Is it just me or is that obscene?! We are hardly a big college. God knows what the principal must be on.

Has anyone done zumba? I went for the first time on Monday and it was a bit mental but very enjoyable and my waist aches - didn't know a waist could ache apart from in a full of cake kind of way! Trying to get in shape for summer but those creme eggs are my downfall. Send multiple choccy eggs and cups of tea your way Loopy. If you don't like them then I am sure you could find a use for them with that awkward MW of yours Wink

We're potty training William as of yesterday and it's going really well. He is asking for the toilet, not stressing and had just one accident yesterday. Not even having to resort to bribery, he just wants to do it. Hooray!

Dad is being transferred to the rehabilitation unit today so it was my last visit to his ward yesterday. I took the staff some homemade biscuits as they have been so wonderful. He's been there over 6 weeks so we've got to know them really well!

How are you feeling about things this week, Loopy?

I'd forgotten about afterpains, I had them so much worse the second time round. I had voltarol, I think, though not as effective as it was first time round. Nothing wrong with a bit of CBA, I think you're entitled to it at 37+ weeks Grin
What is Dance Juniors?

Dad's treatment has been the regional centre for neurology, they take patients from as far afield as the channel islands. It really is incredible what they do there. I dread to think how much his treatment has cost so far, the 3 mri scans will be thousands. He's definitely got his taxes' worth!

Well, I never though I would say this, but I'm quite enjoying William's toilet training because he's just got it this time. He took himself to the toilet 9 times today, made it up the stairs and to the toilet each time without.wetting himself, just one accident in the garden this morning. Let's hope he does as well at nursery tomorrow Grin

lol Loopy!!! Can we officially start clucking around you and getting ready for some new baby cooing yet? Not long to go and you have timed it perfectly, before it gets too hot.

Jetgirl - that's great! Clever lad. You obviously did the right thing in backing off before and letting him think it was his idea! Adam still has the occasional accident at nursery but a lot better than going through 3 sets of clothes as he was doing. It annoys me when people say it is because he is so busy there - he is busy(ish!) here too!
