Pox! In 6 years of parenting I have yet to experience the joys of that! Are you having to use much calamine lotion? I hope it's mild for DD3 - and the others if they've come down with it too.

How long do you have to wait for the result of the exam, Loopy? That bit's worse than the exam itself, imo! I'm glad she seemed to enjoy it! How's the chickenpox?

Greedy - how was the birthday tea? A happy belated birthday to Adam!

I've had a productive weekend, in that I bought a beautiful new pair of shoes and got 25% off the price too, did a bit a Christmas shopping and took my mum, sister and DD to the theatre to see White Christmas, which was cheesy but good fun. DH has been working hard on the bathroom and has painted it (bare plaster for a mere 3 years!) and put the plinth on the cupboards so it looks nearly finished now.

Glad the pox aren't too bad Loopy! DD (and I) are terrible pickers. She would be a nightmare if she were to catch it!! I dont even know i'm picking at stuff half the time so i know where she gets it from..... Blush

Happy birthday William!!

DD's birthday on Monday (and Loopy's DD3 too!). We are having a party at Monkey "Costs an Arm and a Leg" Bizz on the Sunday and on Monday DD is very much looking forward to dishing out some sweets to her class mates after pre-school (which is the birthday tradition there). For her birthday dinner, DD has informed us that she would like to go to the pub (Blush) and have some Heinz Tomato Soup and garlic bread, followed by some cake. I have no idea why she wants to go to the pub. She loves it there but DD and I only get to go there maybe once a month, if that (whereas DP goes there every week lol). She's not having any of my wine tho!! I'll draw the line at that!! haha!! :o

Happy Birthdays to RG's DD, Loopy's DD and LOM's DS!

AM trying to get the house sorted out as I don't want to put decorations up until there's room for them! I also don't like putting them up really early, reckon we'll go for midweek next week, we have a busy weekend with school fayre, a strictly party and and a birthday party next weekend.

RGPargy · 05/12/2011 23:09

Thanx Jet :o Happy birthday to Loopy's DD and LOM's DS too!! :o

Despite it being DD's birthday today, we crumbled and put the tree up today. Blush I dont like putting it up too early and especially didn't want to put it up on her birthday but DD has been under the weather with all these cold/cough bugs going around, plus all the excitement of umpteen parties she's attended and was a bit miserable today (she even had a snooze on my lap!! Shock) so we ended up putting a smile on her face with the tree. We were going to take her out for the afternoon to our local christmas fayre but she didn't want to do anything and just wanted to stay indoors bless her. Most unlike her!

Right, best go and "help" DP with making his sandwiches for lunch tomorrow as he too is now whinging pathetically about how he hates making them...... Xmas Hmm

Blimey Loopy!! You've certainly got a pox fest going on in your house!! I'm not sure if DD has officially had it or not. When DD was a week old, DP came down with chicken pox (!!) and was banished to the bedroom (probaby too late by then) but all i found on DD was 2 or 3 little blisters so not sure if that would have been enough to count as DD actually having chicken pox..... Hmm

Hope all your DCs get better very soon!! (and dont pick the spots!!) Wink

DD is under the weather again. It wasn't too long ago that she was poorly with a high temp, a cough and a cold and now it seems to have returned again. She is such a hot child anyway, poorly or not, and i have had to resort to putting her summer duvet back on her bed as the winter one was far too hot for her (didn't realise, but it's 13.5 tog!!! Xmas Shock). I am supposed to be working til 2am tomorrow night/Friday morning and we really need the money so i really really hope DD is well enough to go to school etc tomorrow. Xmas Hmm

RGPargy · 07/12/2011 23:13

Loopy - hope your DD's get over the worst of it soon. I had the pox when i was 26 (ish) and it was bloody awful. I felt sooooo ill with it! I think kids dont suffer too much with it tho, do they? Hope not! I wouldn't wish the pox on my worst enemy! (well, maybe one or two.....) :o

Loopy and RG - hugs for your poorly girls! Hope the spots are clearing chez loopy and that DD is feeling much brighter now, RG.

Where is December going?! Work is hectic, SLT are now convinced Ofsted will appear in January and have gone full on into panic mode bringing all the mid-January deadlines forward to the end of term. So I have been busy doing assessments so I have relevant data to input and re-writing schemes of learning onto the new school pro-forma. A task which isn't too taxing in terms of planning, just very time-consuming.
I still have presents to purchase and have only posted the overseas cards. I haven't written any yet and normally try to get them done in the first weekend of December. At least so far I haven't been hit with any bugs that seem to be doing the rounds at the moment.

William and DD have had 2 parties this weekend (their social lives are better than mine!) a birthday party and a strictly come dancing party, which they loved. Consequently they are both exhausted, which made bedtime very easy tonight Grin

Considering our little ones are starting school in September Shock who's up for a get-together at some point before then. Not sure where the best mid-point would be, but I think it would be cool Smile

I didn't feel Jason was his best on Saturday, think the winner will be between Chelsee and Harry, I fear the female vote might be split between Jason and Harry though. I lliked Holly, loved her figure Envy and think it's a shame she didn't get through, but the standard was very high. Looking forward to the final on Saturday.

DD went to a build a bear party - she was one of just 3 guests because of the cost, of course she wants one now and I'm hoping she'll forget by the time her birthday comes around in August!

Bought William some new shoes today, and a pair of boots for winter. Couldn't believe how much I had to spend just before Christmas. Thank goodness I am getting my backdated payrise in December. Was promoted to UPS2, so it backdates to September. Not ££s but enough to make a little difference each month.

jetgirl · 14/12/2011 11:17

Just have to share a proud mummy moment with you! DD was meant to be a snowflake in the school nativity last night, so imagine our surprise when she appeared on stage dressed as a wise man! At the last minute she had to replace one who hadn't turned up (must have followed the wrong star) and had a line to say too.

Yes, I cried a little bit, and I'm not ashamed! Two years ago she wouldn't even stand up in assesmbly to collect her raindrop, and yesterday she performed in front a hall packed full of parents. We were allowed cameras yesterday too as there were no children with child protection issues so we have a record of the event.

Hope DD's Nativity goes well today, RG.

Hi everyone :)

How's the pox going, Loopy??

Jet - am deffo up for a meet up!! Just tell me when and where and i will be there! :o

DD has only just started to feel better today after being poorly for so long. Took her to the GP on monday and she gave me a prescription for amoxicilin but told me to not give it to her for 3 days as it may go by itself. This is after 10 days! Anyway, DD then complained of a sore ear so yesterday i had no hesitation in getting the prescription from the chemist and chucking some down her! Since then she's improved ALOT, athough still complains of an earache now and then but hopefully the meds will clear it up. Anyway, she has her preschool xmas party tomorrow, ballet and a birthday party on saturday, and the panto on sunday so she simply hasn't got TIME to be poorly!!! :o
