....thought i'd better start a thread as there are currently 4 of us, with several more to follow!

Joey is now 4 days old (where did the time go?!?), and is doing really well. He actually managed to sleep through with just one feed last night, though i must confess i cheated and had him in bed with me (at my MW's recommendation!) as he was so fretful the night before.

Looking forward in the coming days and weeks to welcoming the other members of the Oct 05 antenatal group to this post-natal club, so i won't feel like Billy No-Mates, talking to myself

DH is coming back from his course this afternoon must try to find more time for us if you know what I mean...

Piggiesmum · 13/12/2005 08:57

Just popping in to wish everyone Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Our house move has been brought forward a week and we are going on Thursday!!!!!! OMG I am nowhere near ready. Fortunately we have arranged for the movers to do the packing and unpacking. We had a skip on the drive over the weekend to get rid of any junk, me and dh are both terrible hoarders. I ordrered an 8 tonne builders skip and when it arrived I though id gone OTT and should have just got a little one, but I still can't believe it... we filled to overflowing and still haven't finished chucking

Anyway ds is a little more settle, still not sleeping through, he had just started going 5 hours at night, then got snuffly again and went back to 2-3 hours. We are loosely following the baby whisper - E.A.S.Y which ds is happy with as long as he can dictate how long each cycle is. Works ffor us at the moment.

He is another one who suddenly decided he liked his chair after all. For ages he wouldn't sit in it and id started thinking it was a waste of money. Now he loves it and can almost reach the toys that hang down from the rail.

Poor little fella has his immunisations this morning.

Well better dash, i will be offline till 9 january, don't know how I'll cope lol

Have a lovely christmas everyone.

YOKEFLEET · 13/12/2005 09:22

PIGGIESMUM - I hope you have a lovely christmas too. We are moving house mid January - we only moved last when I was 34w pg so we haven't had that much time to accumilate too much junk this time round, when we moved down from Yorkshire it was countless trips to the charity shop with stuff! Hope all goes well with the immunisations this morning.

Elf1981 · 13/12/2005 10:23

Evie slept from 11:30 last night til 8:30 this morning! I did panic when I woke up at 7:00 and realised the time, she usually wakes at 6:00, and rushed to her moses basket to make sure she was okay!

Redtartanlass · 13/12/2005 12:34

Piggiesmum, good luck with move!!

ds2 got bronchiolitis, and hasn't slept for 2
days, as every time he falls asleep his coughing wakes him up!!

So he's lying on the couch intermittently coughing, crying, moaning and getting a couple of minute sleep!

On top of that, we've all got a stomach bug, so I've changed about 100 stinking nappies while running to the loo myself.

Hopefully wii be ok for hoiday in 9 days!!

So feeling pretty crap......(no pun intended)

Elf1981 · 13/12/2005 13:15

I really sympathise RTL. When did your DS2 get poorly? Evie got poorly on the Friday, the Monday was the worst day. The hospital said that day 4 or 5 is usually the worst, then they start to get better. Evie's almost fully recovered now.

Redtartanlass · 13/12/2005 14:31

elf - sat/sun he started with the coughing and wheezing. Mon he started on medicine. Hope dd doesn't get it!!!

Elf1981 · 13/12/2005 14:45

Our doc wouldn't give Evie medicine! Told us to just keep an eye on her and let her ride it out!

Redtartanlass · 13/12/2005 14:53

steriods for airways
ant-biotics for chest infection
Asked if baby gets it, what to do. Doc said no medicine, 'cos I'm breastfeeding wil get antibodies from me.

YOKEFLEET · 13/12/2005 17:26

Hope all your babies are feeling better soon.

ponto · 13/12/2005 21:49

Just caught up on thread, sounds like most of the babes are starting to settle a bit more. Alice has been going to bed at 8pm for the last week, then waking at 4 for a feed and sleeping till 7. If only I could get the 8 hour sleep to be between 11 and 7! Have tried waking her for a feed at 11 but she still wakes at 4 anyway.

I used Gina Ford with dd1 and I remember a lot more crying than this time round. Am too busy taking dd1 out and about to set a strict routine for Alice, so we're using the E.A.S.Y. baby whisperer method. She still feeds every 2 and a half hours during the day but as long as she goes to bed in the evening I do not care!

YOKEFLEET · 14/12/2005 09:45

Another good night here, we put Thomas in bed at 10.20(when we went to bed) he woke for a feed at just before midnight but only took 1/2oz then slept til 8.15!! I can't wait for him to give up the midnight feed, I have tried giving him abit more on the 9pm feed but he still always wakes for that little bit more at midnight!! DH home last night from his course and he is back in the bedroom with Thomas and I yippeee (mind you I did strip the spare bed and didn't remake it!!

Redtartanlass · 14/12/2005 19:43

Hi ponto, nice to see you back...

Had a great night with the baby, shle slept from 9pm to 6am [shock However, did not get a chance to enjoy is as ds2 was up every hour crying, coughing and being sick

He had a mega temperature in the morning, so did on the usual to get his temp down, and phoned the doc. She said she'd come out if I wanted, but basically I had done evrything, and all we could do was wait ti out.

Today was awful, thank goodness baby was an angel today, she must have known I had no time for her. Had to spend the day carrying ds2 around like a baby, to try and nurse him to sleep. Not easy with a 2 stone child.

Figures crossed he'll have a better night tonight.

YOKEFLEET · 14/12/2005 20:09

rtl hope you and your son have a better night tonight

Elf1981 · 15/12/2005 07:43

Had a run of a couple of good nights, I think Evie has given up the 3:00 feed and is going from around 11.30 til 6.00ish. Bliss.
I count my lucky stars.
I know that no doubt baby no 2 (whenever we decide to make them!) will be a nightmare baby as a punishment!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 15/12/2005 07:53

Well after such a god few days, we have had the nightmarechild from HELL these past 3 nights!

Last night was the wrost by far.... been up pretty much all night.... bloody kids!!!

If only i could get her to go down later i think it would all be ok, because she is sleeping from 5pm til 2am no problems!!!

If olny it was 11pm - 8am!!! That would be BLISS!

YOKEFLEET · 15/12/2005 08:08

A good night here which was a suprise really as Thomas had slept loads through the day. We put him down again at 10.20 when we went to bed and we gurgled at about 5.30 but didn't wake for a feed until 7.20 - 9hrs Bliss He missed his midnight feed for the first time so fingers crossed for tonight!
We watched the film "9 months" last night, I had seen it several times before but DH hadn't, it was so different watching it after having a baby, smiling just thinking about it!!
elf my niece was such a sweet baby and slept through the night when she was 6 weeks old, I was sure our child would be a demon child! but maybe that's saved for next time too.

Redtartanlass · 15/12/2005 10:08

Oh wow, some of us seem to have reached a turning point with the sleeping. Baby slept from 10pm until 4am, not as good as the night before, but at least poor wee ds2 slept through.

He seems a lot better today, still not eating, and coughing and wheezing like an old man on 50 woodbines. But at least he doesn't have to be carried everywhere

However the baby now has a cough Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
Hopefully it wont get any worse. Away on holiday a week today.

Haven't been out all wek, except for the docs on Mon, am starting to go a bit stir crazy.

pogface · 15/12/2005 11:53

just found out that ds has been on a course of antibiotics for over 2 weeks when it should only have been for 4 days !!!! im so angry! he hated it, we had to force it down him, and towards the end it really upset his tummy, as you'd expect since it would have killed off all his gut bacteria ...poor little mite. bloody doctors!
he has also decided to refuse to be put down any earlier than about 11pm and will scream and act like he's in pain if i try - yet he's exhausted and sleeps like an angel on me! hmmmm...on the plus side, he was so tired last night that he slept from 11.30 to 3 and then til 7.45 - not so impressive as some, i know (Elf!) but its good for us.
p xx

YOKEFLEET · 15/12/2005 12:07

pogface that must have been awful for you. Thomas wouldn't go down before midnight-ish until a couple of nights ago (he is 10weeks old) and still now it is only just after 10pm, he had a few nights with a 3am feed but that (touch wood) has now dropped out. I'm sure your son will be joining the club soon!!

mummygow · 15/12/2005 13:59

Hi everyone, how many mums on here, I wish I had time to read through to see what you all had and whats been going on - I just feel that I'm never going to catch up with you all. I think I will just have to read from now and hope I catch on, so if I ask stupid questions about anything that you have already mentioned please forgive me.

Anyway how are you all doing today - Cameron not been well for couple of days so all he has done is sleep, so trying to get him back into something resembling a routine today. He woke at 5am then 6.50am went back to sleep 9am woke 9.10am and trying to get him to go for a nap at lunchtime was a task, he finally nodded off at about 12.40 so hoping he goes to at least 2.30 for his next bottle. He has been sleeping from about 11.30pm - 5am the last couple of nights so hoping we are creeping towards 7am!! (I wish)

mummygow · 15/12/2005 14:00

sorry meant he went to sleep 8.30 woke 9.10am
