....thought i'd better start a thread as there are currently 4 of us, with several more to follow!

Joey is now 4 days old (where did the time go?!?), and is doing really well. He actually managed to sleep through with just one feed last night, though i must confess i cheated and had him in bed with me (at my MW's recommendation!) as he was so fretful the night before.

Looking forward in the coming days and weeks to welcoming the other members of the Oct 05 antenatal group to this post-natal club, so i won't feel like Billy No-Mates, talking to myself

Elf - Thanks for the link.
We aren't following gina ford or baby whisperer, just going with the flow at the minute. We don't have a bedtime for Thomas he stays with us until he feeds usually between 10.30 and 11.30 then we take him up with us. Had a good night again with him, put him in cot at 12.30 and he slept until 7.30 this morning, took 3oz feed then went back to sleep until 10
Better go as we are going out to a chinese for lunch. x

I can't believe my luck - baby slept for 7 hours last night! :-o Such a shock, I was not expecting that at all. I think it was because I had put her in her sleeping bag and THEN swaddled her as well to stop her hands from freezing! It's weird, she is sleeping better than my 3 year old!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 10/12/2005 11:41

MP - im with you there! Rebecca fell asleep at 7pm, we dream fed her at 11pm she woke herself at 3.30am and that was her til 7am! Best night in AGES, but her BIG sister was having a NIGHTMARE! Oh well.... if it isnt one its the other!

Elf1981 · 10/12/2005 11:51

Evie seems to have turned the corner with her illness. Mind you, even though she was poorly, she was still sleeping from 12:00 at the very to 6:00. Last night we went from 11:30 til 8:15 - bless her! Mind you she has just screamed herself to sleep after I tried to get some of the snot out of her nose!
Does anybodies babies do that - scream and cry so much then just suddenly fall asleep? This is the second time she's done it, I think she wears herself out as she hardly ever cries so it's loads of effort for her to scream!

Redtartanlass · 10/12/2005 14:33

Well it sounds like most of us had a good night, last night. My baby slep from 12 until 6.30 Yipee!!!

What was in the air last night!!

nervousmum · 10/12/2005 15:46

SusiS - we went to Center Parcs, and will be going back there in January. Very baby-friendly. Mind you, DP has booked for us to go to Greece in May. Joey will be 8 months old. Not sure if i'm looking forward to it or not!

After 4 fabulous nights of Joey sleeping soundly in his cot from 10.30pm till 6am while we were on holiday, he was a little so-and-so last night and refused to settle, cried himself to sleep, and only managed 4 hours once he actually was asleep. Consequently, i feel like death warmed up today!

Oh yes, and i'm pretty sure Joey's teething too - cue lots of fist chewing, drooling, red cheeks, and crying. Ahh, the joys of motherhood

Here's for another peaceful night tonight girls.... well, i can wish!

Feel good today though, have been baking biscuits all afternoon, put the Christmas Tree up tonight and planning on chilling out at my Dads tomorrow while he cooks lunch!

YOKEFLEET · 11/12/2005 10:01

Another good night here! Midnight til 7am then a 10min feed and back to sleep until 9am. DH is going away this afternoon for work and is back late on Tuesday, it will be the first time he has been away since Thomas was born The worse thing is that the course he is going on is a complete waste of time as the company he works for is in the process of being bought out and once that all goes through by early-mid January he won't have a job their as the new company doesn't do any design "in house" they send it all out to consultant engineers instead!
I wish this fog would hurry up and lift as I want to go for a nice long walk with Thomas after lunch!

Redtartanlass · 11/12/2005 10:15

Glad you had a good night yorkie, has your dh got a job after feb?

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 11/12/2005 10:57

Another good night here too... Jessica slept from 6.30pm - 7.30am... BLISS.

Rebecca wasnt too bad, woke for feed at about 3 and again at 6 but she had been asleep since 7pm!

Elf1981 · 11/12/2005 11:30

Evie fell asleep at 7:30 last night, I dream fed her at midnight and she woke up at 5:00 for a 10 minute feed and that was it til 9:00. BRILLIANT!

YOKEFLEET · 11/12/2005 17:13

RTL - DH has been offered a job for more money then currently on, but no company car or fuel. He currently works in Cardiff which is 40 miles away and this other job he has been offered is in Bristol which is 80 miles away! Not great as he gets home at about 7pm now and once Thomas is a bit older and is in more of a routine DH will hardly get to see him but the new company doesn't want him to start until Feb so dh can keep looking in the meanwhile.
It seems like we are all getting more sleep at the minute now just waiting for the teething to kick in.......

Redtartanlass · 12/12/2005 09:41

Nightmare night!!!! And not with the wee baby, but with the big one!! ds2 has never been the best of sleepers but at the moment he is not very well so woke up about 5 times last night!! Poor wee soul.

Now he is the most bad tempered baby in the world 'cos he so tired and not well!! Ahhhhhh

Anyway off to the docs.Hope you had a better night.

YOKEFLEET · 12/12/2005 10:04

RTL - sorry to hear that you had a bad night, how old is DS?
ELF - Is Evie feeling better now?
3rd night in a row for us with Thomas going down at midnight-ish and waking for a feed around 7-30
I didn't sleep properly though with dh not being here and feel more tired then when Thomas was doing 2hr feeds!

Elf1981 · 12/12/2005 11:30

Hi Yoke. Evie is feeling much better, thanks. She still sounds a bit chesty when she's breathing, but her nose is mostly clear now and she's hardly got a cough so I'm sure she's on her way to being a lot better. I've got a pic of the little en here

Elf1981 · 12/12/2005 11:31

Oh and my sympathies about your DH being away, I sleep terribly when mine is not around. He had to have an op two years ago and spent two nights in hospital and I don't think I slept a wink!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 12/12/2005 12:03

Latest pic of Becky here

Rebecca at 6 weeks

danishmummy · 12/12/2005 12:08

Latest pic of Martin is under Danish baby Martin -- 8 weeks.
J&BM: Rebecca is gorgeous!! How do you make a referal to click directely to the pic?
RTL: sorry to hear about your bad night... hope ds2 will feel better soon.

Redtartanlass · 12/12/2005 12:09

Back from the docs, she's given himsteriods and anti-biotics. He sounds terrible! Poor wee thing.

I've just put him to bed as he's shattered, yorkie he's 22 months.

I would love dp to go away for a couple of nights...think it's because I was a single parent for so long. Mind you I've been with dp nearly 9 years!!! Bit I still love a bit of peace and quite, able to play on the computer without any guilt!! Ahhhh

Anyway here's a link to my babies as well, elf - she's a beauty.

Redtartanlass · 12/12/2005 12:18

Danishmummy's Martin

danishmummy · 12/12/2005 12:19

RTL: wishing ds2 a good sleep of recovery. Bless him. Can you help me on how to make a link to pics?

Elf: Evelyn is soooo sweet!

Martin having a bit of a restless day... keep waking up. Lately has taken a 3,5 hour nap from 12ish, but woke up after only an hour today, not settled by dummy back in, not wanting a feed, wriggling about and hard to settle back to sleep. Maybe the broccoli I had last night? Thought it was supposed to be out of the milk after 4 hours? Sometimes it would be nice if they could talk already!!!!!

danishmummy · 12/12/2005 12:21

Oh, RTL, reading my thoughts, while I was writing them!! Thanks, honey! Your babys are just gorgeous -- and mine is waking up again now!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!

Redtartanlass · 12/12/2005 12:22

Has anyone else noticed that their older kids are starting to realise that the baby is staying and acting up accordingly.

Whether it's a coincidence, as he is nearing the terrible 2s, but Ds2 is a lot more hard work and clingy and just not the happy jolly wee fellow he used to be.

I know he's not all well at the moment, but he had started before that!!!
