A has some sweets too - not all the time but for example I potty trained her by bribing rewarding her with Smarties for stuff done in potty. She brushes her teeth lots and has had one trip to dentist so far (dont' star going till they're 2 here) and all was OK with her teeth. I'm hoping she "inherits" dh's teeth, he has incredibly good teeth, never has fillings.

Btw, what is a fruitshoot? We don't have them here. I have heard them mentioned on MN and they seem to be considered the root of all evil Hmm

memphis83 · 18/01/2011 17:28

mlic what is it with mil's? hope he eats something for you!
wss fruitshoots are like a small waterbottle with squash in them, they try and market them that it is fruit so its good, but on here they are made by the devil, i tried one once they made my teeth hurt!!!
L will have sweets and treats but i want him to eat healthy foods before he starts eating treats, when i was pg i had to threaten my sister with not having contact with him when she said she would ply him with chocolate from 4 months as soon as im out the way!
L is being a nightmare today keeps crying for ages just had to leave him on his mat to cry it out he is asleep at the moment, im so bored, house is tidy no food to cook no dh to clean up after!

it is his teeth his gums are all bumpy like he has a set of pink teeth, gave him the powder stuff and calpol , he wakes at 1 everynight too eventhough he doesnt want a bottle i just cant comfort him when i hold him hes like a toddler thrashing about, so i lay him on floor to stop him hurting himself!

Are other babies having fewer feeds/less at each feed now they're on solids?

I was doing the "bf then solid food an hour later" thing but when G wakes up in morning she's just not interested in a bf (she does have one about 3 am though). She wants to go straight to the toast and Weetabix.

During the day she does still bf but much much less than she was. I'm working on the theory she won't let herself starve (and she's not a skinny thing at all Smile)

I find fruitshoots hard to drink from, the white bit you pull out always goes back in on its own whilst trying to drink it.

Ive given Dylan porridge for dinner so lets see if it makes a difference tonight.

memphis83 · 18/01/2011 19:46

he wont stop crying!!!! he ate his tea had a bottle fell asleep for 2 mins now he wont stop he has had calpol!!! mlic i dont know how you coped!!! he has a bruise on his arm from thrashing about so much now im worried about going to the support group as he will be in a creche!!!!

memphis definitely still go to the support group. They'll be used to sad little people in there so should be good at cuddling/distracting, and they shouldn't have a problem with you keeping him with you if you need to. He may well be fine in the morning anyway. Has he eaten something he hasn't had before that's reacted badly? If so it'll take time for his body to chug it through. I'd still deffo recommend you go tomoz though!

And I lurve frootshuits, I don't give them to DD simply cos I drink them Grin

Needle · 18/01/2011 21:23

Going through teething HELL here. She's been wailing for the last two hours, and nothing is working. I've tried powders, gels, calpol, teethers, and she's completely inconsolable. I'm at my wits end with this- she's clearly exhausted, but in too much pain to sleep and I don't know what to do.
DH, on the other hand is passed out on the bed, filthy boots and all, apparently oblivious to his daughter's agony.
If he ever does help, he gets up and fusses her and puts her in our bed, so it's getting harder and harder to put her to bed at all. Stress and bother.

Urgh, I'm so fed up. We've not had an evening together for ages because he's always complaining of being tired, despite the fact that I'm up on average 2 hours earlier than him and do all the getting up in the night, yet less thatn 12 hours after getting up, he's back in bed. Pissing artists.

TSC- so jealous of your new washer, although God knows you've waited long enough. We need a new oven, the last 3 lots of bread I've done have been burnt on top and raw in the middle.

Memphis- you ok hun?I feel your pain. Hope he's ok xxx

memphis83 · 18/01/2011 21:25

hes asleep but still keeps crying out in his sleep, he hasnt had anything that he doesnt normally eat gone back to basics after the dairy thing last week, i will go to group i just hope he sleeps ok, his teeth are so close it looks like he has pink teeth as they are pushed against gums so much! i cant wait for dh to come home i feel very alone without his support! ive been so stressed ive eaten a whole pack of jammie dodgers in about 20 mins!!

CakeandRoses · 18/01/2011 22:10

hey - we're with you memphis, well as much as we can be. hopefully all the tears mean the teeth are on their way v soon. as chulita said - do go to your group anyway as they should be well prepared to make sure you're both ok.

needle poor you and gwen. you tried the ambesol LIQUID yet? by far the best thing.

tsc feel like we should have a party in honour of your washing machine Grin i feel quite exhilarated by the thought of it arriving!

right - boring saddo question (i've asked similar before but this is even worse)

how do you dry your clothes?

if you use an airer, where in your house is it?

now Aurelia is selfishly claiming my laundry room, i need to resite the airer but can't think where. am also thinking about going against my green principles and getting a tumble dryer, if only to get my thru baby and toddlerhood. if you have a thumble dryer, what do you use it for?

i've made a good start on her room (i'm feeling quite jealous actually!) so if we get round to buying F a new bed at the weekend (so she can have his cotbed) then she could move in v soon.

CakeandRoses · 18/01/2011 22:11

thumble dryer Hmm
