memphis please try not put pressure on yourself about the group, it's there to help you not cause you more stress. try not to think about it too much before you get there.

hah - knew you wouldn't resist referring to my thumble dryer mlic

am gutted about the thought of putting it in our bedroom but i suspected that's what others must do as i'd rarely seen them in other people's houses (can you tell i've been over-thinking this, perchance?)

i have a few other potential locations i might test run first.

i do hate the way real life gets in the way of things looking nice Grin

oh and i'm properly shell-shocked after watching the gypsy wedding, thanks memphis!

Cake I almost always dry my clothes outside on the washing line. Even in winter here, if it is a dry day, they will dry by the end of the day if they are put out in the morning.

We don't have radiators to dry clothes on here.

I have an airer in the spare room for if it rains for days but I try not to use it if I can avoid it as it just feels damp having wet clothes hanging around espec with no central heating to dry the room out.

We don't have a t(hr)umble dryer Smile

wonderstuff · 18/01/2011 23:02

going to watch gypsy wedding tomorrow. Had total nightmare getting dd from nursery, managed to miss not one but two buses, total pita - I really, really need a car.
Ho hum - off to bed, Dylan only woke up once last night everything crossed for a repeat performance.
memphis thinking of you tomorrow, hope it goes well.
cakes I have my airer in the dining room, which doubles up as a playroom so at least the living room is tidyish I have a tumble dryer that I use far too often, mainly because I hate having the airer up, it also makes my towels so soft I wouldn't want to be without it. I justify it eco-wise because a) I would have the heating on more if I wasn't using it and b)it has a moisture sensor so turns itself off when the clothes are dry, so clever Grin

With you on the real life making everything messy thing - I have a friend with an actual playroom, no kids stuff eveywhere - Envy
Night all x

wonderstuff · 19/01/2011 06:18

Why? Why does he wake so early? What does he have to do at 5 that can't wait til 7?
What do you guys do with yours when they awake before dawn?

WinterChillita · 19/01/2011 07:53

wonderstuff S likes to wake between 4.30 and 5, I feed him and then put him back and let him cry til 6 at the earliest. Cruel but I'd rather lie in bed listening to him than face getting up and going downstairs. Usually he just grizzles and grumbles rather than actually crying anyway.
cake I have a washer/dryer. DH can't stand not having tumbled towels so they get done, as do nappies cos they hum and I don't want them on the radiators. Our airer's in the kitchen but I have a sneaking suspicion that most people wouldn't leave theirs out if people came round. I shove mine in the garage on the rare occasion that someone pops over.
memphis thinking of you today, hope you have a really good time!
needle I'm with you on the DH front, he's got up with the early bird once in 3 weeks. I do resent getting up at 5 having been up 5 times in the night. Ok so he's recovering from flu at the mo but he's getting a good 9 hours a night!

WinterChillita · 19/01/2011 07:55

tsc I can't wait til S can crawl, I'm bored of this 'helpless tortoise' stage

WhatSheSaid · 19/01/2011 08:11

G is desperate to crawl too, is up on all fours and rocking away. She kind of gets around the room through a combination of wriggling and rolling and sheer determination.

I'd be quite happy for her to stay put for a while longer but I think she's going to be on the move soon.

Stac2011 · 19/01/2011 08:47

mine has been awake on and off all night, despite calpol and gel. I don't know what I'm doing Confused. She always stirred for her dummy or a feed but this is constant. Dont know how you girls who have had this all the time managed.

Problem with that Chilita it that he would wake up dh and dd as well, much easier for me to get up with him - then I can justifiably get dh to get up with dd when she wakes at 6.45 ds having gone back to sleep at 6.30! Bless him dh got her all ready and she is at mil today, he'll pick her up on his way home, so I have a peaceful day today. I think Dylan must have slept until quite late (given up on looking at the clock, too depressing) because I actually feel quite refreshed this morning and I didn't go to bed until 11 last night.

Quite looking forward to Dylan crawling, he gets so frustrated atm, turns himself over, tries and tries to move, gets tired then needs mummy to give him a cuddle for a bit.

3 weeks until I go back to work - am thinking about keeping dd home from nursery for a couple of weeks, she is very clingy atm, torn between thinking going with it and letting her stay home and get a bit bored will help or persevering with the routine of going to nursery?? Mil lives for her day a week with dd, so going to keep that going.

Anyway - off to change my third nappy of the day Grin

wonderstuff · 19/01/2011 09:01

stac hope you can get a nap later in the day, you must be shattered. I hate days after nights like that, nothing gets done I'm just a zombie.

DesperateHousewife20 · 19/01/2011 09:11

I went to bed at half 8 last night to see if Dylan would sleep, he didnt go to sleep til 10 but he slept til 5 then had a quick feed and slept til 9.

I dont know what made him do that though! I gave him porridge at dinner but I cant give him porridge everyday. How will I get all the other foods into him?
Would veg puree etc do the same thing or does it have to be porridge?

Stac2011 · 19/01/2011 09:16

thanks wonder you too. With dd if you keep her home it could make getting her back into her routine harder for you both.

Wish R was crawling but she doesnt show any interest infact hates being on her front

mlic enjoy your class

memphis let us know how you get on today hun, i'm sure it will be great when you get there

Stac2011 · 19/01/2011 09:20

dh could you give him the veg earlier say 4ish, then porridge before bed? I do that with R. (not that it matters with her, she's shit just now). Great night though :-D

DesperateHousewife20 · 19/01/2011 09:55

Yeah I suppose I could. I also give him finger foods when we have dinner so its not just boring porridge everyday.

Does anyone else feel really sick and dizzy in the mornings? I dont get it every day, it seems to be when Ive had a GOOD nights sleep. I find it hard to take in deep breaths and need to rest til it goes Confused

CakeandRoses · 19/01/2011 11:08

Crap nights all round eh?

Felix was up restless and crying from midnight til 1am then A woke for ages at 3, 4, 5 and 6 when she managed to also wake up F so we were all up. Dh still away too so no-one to swap shifts with.

Really hoping they both go down now so I can hhave a nap but F is rattling around in his room tho I left him 'asleep'.

Hope you all manage to get some rest

mlic what you gonna make?

Stac2011 · 19/01/2011 11:15

Ladies I need you to keep me strong! Ds wants to come home and teacher says he should stay. I feel awful as I dont want him being sad or imposing on the teacher. He's back on friday but its so hard x

CakeandRoses · 19/01/2011 11:22

stac can you talk to him on the phone and found out what the problem is exactly. If its 'just' home-sickness then I think I'd try to explain to him the benefits of staying, how proud you'll be of him for it etc. Also worth checking there isn't more to it, such as bullying, god forbid.

CakeandRoses · 19/01/2011 11:24

Oh and a friend was really homesick when we went on a school trip but she stayed and ended up really enjoying it.

Stac2011 · 19/01/2011 11:29

I spoke to him cakes he's just really missing us. I've explained its only 2 more days and he'll have a fab time. He kept saying i just want to come home. I want him to stay as its a great experience but wish he wasnt sad

Dylthan · 19/01/2011 13:10

Memphis so glad the group went well Smile

cakes I line dry when its not wet (which in the north of Scotland is a rarity) if it is wet I use the tumble drier. So that's most days then Grin I always tumble dry towels, I can't bear them to be hard.

wonderstuff I'm very Envy of your self turning off tumble drier.

stac I'm sure if he stays he will look back on this and only remember the good times. It must be so hard to hear he is upset Sad but it's Friday tomorrow so not long.

tsc yeah!! For your washing machine.

In other news I've just won the £50 amazon voucher for commenting on the OBEM thread Shock I'm so unbelievably excited I've just phoned up dh any one listening in would think I'd of won millions on the lottery. Any suggestions for what I should spend it on Grin Grin Grin
