Hey, hope everyone and their little pals are feeling better this evening.
V manic weekend here:
So BF & son had sleepover and after she went to bed, DH & I decided it would be hilarious to have sex on the sofaXmas Wink. Saturday we all piled in the Silkbus to local leisure centre where DH & DS1 went to a massive Scifi Fayre (Princess Leia, Alien 3, Predator etc pottering about) and the rest of us went for a swim. Just happened to be Special Needs bouncy castle session too so we all had a good bounce (her DS is finally on waiting list for autism assessment centre, yay, though he'd have no probs getting in without a diagnosis, bless him.) Then DS1 and I came back to hers for a sleepover (inc her and me sneaking off into town for clothes shopping and dinner out LOL.) More whizzing about today inc DS1 and I walking home (2-3miles) which was lovely as it was so sunny and all the snow had been rained away overnight.
Oh and we parked next to the Back to the Future DeLorian too, wish we'd taken a pic.

Silkstalkings · 05/12/2010 21:32

PMSL at Crispy being considered flaky, the woman must be a nutcase (not that that makes you one step down from a nutcase.)

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/12/2010 21:42

Thanks all Smile

silk you are onto something there.....WinkGrin

BibiBelle · 05/12/2010 21:45

No tree here either, it's only 5 December fgs! Am starting to panic re Christmas shopping though, esp as snow doesn't seem to be going anwhere, so am tring to do some shopping online now. Of course, some of the clever ideas I had last month are now sold out so fingers crossed DD will be back at school tomoz and I'm off into town to hit the pound shops. There are loads of them in Wakey Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/12/2010 21:57

fjorn just remember, we are all hairy truckers in our soup cafe. There are no trees. They are all virtual. Just like the inflatable snowman WinkGrin

ursula you have some a wonderfully lovely way of saying things "we peaked in our addiction circa Goblet of Fire"

bbbbbbb oh my! that snowman is erm well erm...i know..... very suitable for the backgarden. If it were me i'd be afraid it would be stolen from the front Xmas Wink

crisp sorry to hear you're having sibling issues. and i'm in the 'can't believe anyone would think you were flaky' camp

bibi yay to getting paperwork done Xmas HmmXmas Smile

happy welcome home. has dh still got his 'd'?

fjyorngngg no decs here either. i did try and convince dh to get one yday but he reckoned the 5th was too early. he's away next weekend so i'm off to get it myself this week as a 'surprise' for him Xmas Grin

silk your weekend sounds so lovely

hi star how's your back now?

HippyChristmaspotamus · 06/12/2010 08:32

bloody hell! i was just about to close the snowman window and just noticed how big it is!!!!!! its 8 ft tall!!!!!! oh bbbbbb you poor thing! even if you do put it in the back garden, everyone's still going to be able to see it!!!!!

blueberrysantabait · 06/12/2010 08:52

Morning Ladies :)

Hippy - In our neighbourhood it would be perfectly safe but tutted at but the entirety or age concern who live around here.

Crispy - flaky?? She is your sister isn't she?

Fjorny - we have out tree etc because next weekend we are at my parents and the following weekend we have a sale then panto/works lunch on the Sunday, then it is Christmas week!

Moving DD2 into her own room was the best thing we have done - no more 8,9,10 wakings night to one waking for a proper feed and then sleeping until 6.30 or 7 Xmas Smile

Happychick - I would hate to be confined in a non moving plane for 3 hours with DD1 and the rest of the passengers would hate me by the end of it too!

HippyChristmaspotamus · 06/12/2010 09:05

oh and i'm pleased to announce (and hopefully not going to jinx anything!!!) dd is sleeping through!!! she sometimes wakes at 5 for milk but then goes back to sleep for an hour or so! we obviously ticked the right box when we ordered her Grin
but, last night was our first night of undisturbed sleep because ds has been waking up Hmm

confession time, i've not been on here much recently because things haven't been great here and i didn't want to come on and moan (esp after all the time you put in writing advice last time it happened). dh and me have been arguing horribly. i really do think we've turned a corner this time though but i guess we shall see

bollocks! forgot to put pads in this morning and i've leaked milk all over my top arghh. best go change

FjorgynAndHotWater · 06/12/2010 12:40

Oh hippy you know you can come on and moan all you like and we will offer to chop his balls off offer a friendly listening ear. Hope you are right and he has finally seen sense Smile

enya yikes to your long delay but glad you got home safe Smile

bbbb that snowman sure is erm, big. Think it deserves a Xmas Shock... Xmas Grin

School open today, thank fuck, as DC were driving us bananas. Took advantage and went into town for some Christmas shopping. Have spent mucho £££ but the list still has too many empty spaces by peoples names. DD's pile on the other hand is growing exponentially Blush I may have to divert the cinderella barbie to a new home.

maisyandpandulce · 06/12/2010 13:19

Hello all,

OK.

This morning I was completely unable to negotiate with DS that he wear anything other than Thomas pants. Well, he might have conceded to wear his sister's green spotty dress but we tried it and it really wouldn't go on.

So I decide, given that I had an almost naked toddler, that I should cut his hair. I understand that it is generally thought that clippers are a bit OTT for a small boy, but well, it works for me (requires no haircutting talent and the screaming is at home rather than in front of an audience). BUT REMEMBER TO CHECK WHETHER THEY ARE CHARGED, PEOPLE. I now have a toddler who refuses to wear anything other than Thomas pants with a big stripe shaved into the middle of his head, which is as far as we got before it conked out.

And it's DDs birthday party today.

Also Urs I kind of remember that you posted that at about the age of 1 you offered your DS2 cup of milk instead of a breastfeed at night and he just took a small sip, rolled over and went back to sleep, and then started sleeping through the night. Was it really that simple, or am I missing something?

hippy do moan, although not about sleeping. For which congrats indeed.

We get about 9.5 hours from the kids at night (DD wakes 1 or 2 times to feed) and 2ish hours during the day. hey ho

FjorgynAndHotWater · 06/12/2010 15:46

Hurrah I've worked out who you are maisy Grin I can't believe it's DD's birthday today Shock where did that year go??? Happy Birthday mini-maisy Smile

BibiBelle · 06/12/2010 16:21

loving a good go faster stripe and thomas pants - winning combo imo Grin

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 06/12/2010 16:56

Also was so busy working out who you were I forgot to PMSL at T's hair Grin Hope the party goes / went well Smile

HippyChristmaspotamus · 06/12/2010 17:32

can i have a clue about maisy's identity please Xmas Blush

thanks, i know i can moan but i just felt a bit daft after last time and me saying how i thought we'd sorted it. but then it was a matter of a few days before it all blew up again. feels like its not real, like i'm having a bad dream. anyhow, things ok again at the moment, i just hope it lasts longer this time

HippyChristmaspotamus · 06/12/2010 17:34

oh actually, think i've worked it out but surely maisy's dd isn't one already??!!

CrispyTheCrisp · 06/12/2010 18:13

LOL @ Thomas pants and go faster stripes - sounds like you have your work cut out. I think you need to bring DS back into this country - he wouldn't be without clothes for long HmmGrin

Hippster Fingers x'd for you my lovely. Hopefully now DD (and DS) are doing longer sleep stretches that DH will be less picky and antagonistic. Sleep deprivation is a nightmare for all concerned Sad.

Glad you got back ok Santa but sorry to hear you had a crap delay. I hate don't really like flying at the best of times so would have been freaked at an iceberg plane. Esp if it was CraptasticRyan Air.

Been to playgroup and swimming today, negotiating ice and snow storms. I am out tonight and took 3 taxi companies and promise of an extortionate fare to lure them out to see me safely home. I am planning to have sufficient wine not to worry about the slide drive home Grin

Very proud of DD1 today - she did the Nativity. Hurrah Smile. After weeks of saying she didn't want to, trying to make herself sick over it by sticking her fingers down her throat Sad she did it Smile. Acceptable compromises were a demotion down the angel ladder from Gabriel (speaking part) to AN Other Angel (non speaking), and wearing a special blue dress the preschool leader found for her and mended, washed and pressed especially. I love those ladies. Such patience & enthusiasm Smile

DD2 has had no accidents today despite a trip to playgroup, Creche and Sainsbury's

Silkstalkings · 06/12/2010 18:20

If Maisy was anyone more local she probably would have fought harder about the just wearing pants LOL.

Hippo Fingers crossed for you and DH. Have you thought about setting a deadline to sort things out between yourselves or sign up to Relate? Just in case you find yourself with deja vu.

K has not only received an ego suddenly this winter but it seems his gender has arrived too. There is lots of wrestling with DS1, much deadly serious kissing me on the lips and poking of boobs, and (the definitive boyish activity) leaping from the arm of the sofa on to the cushions. I am hoping all this doesn't interfere with my plan for him to be the new John Barrowman when he grows upGrin. But then, DS1 was just singing Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked so maybe I will still have the gay son of my dreams.

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 06/12/2010 20:09

rofl Silk, plenty of time yet Xmas Grin Lots of leaping here too, constantly in fact. It's well cute, apart from when he smacks his face into the wall or similar.

Crisp have a lovely night out Xmas Envy although on second thoughts, slightly less Xmas Envy as it is face-shatteringly cold here today. Minus 6 tonight Xmas Shock [brrrr]

maisy HAPPY BIRTHDAY DD Xmas Smile and happy pants day DS Xmas Grin All this successful potty training going on...I shall give myself a Xmas Biscuit on the subject for now.

DS seems to be dropping his nap; it's weird, he always used to be crazed with tiredness if he missed one, but recently he's been quite happy going without. I think it might have been triggered by me picking him up at lunchtimes on Fridays instead of him doing a full day - it means he often doesn't sleep on Fridays and he seems to like the idea. I don't mind really, he's lots of fun now the pickiness has subsided a bit and an added bonus is that he falls straight asleep at bedtime Xmas Grin

BibiBelle · 06/12/2010 22:04
