How was everyones night? I went to bed at 9:20 but didnt get to sleep til 10:40 Hmm
Dylan was in a very awake mood, finally got him to sleep in our bed when DP came in from playing xbox.
Then this morning complained he didnt have enough bed space when he came in.

I couldnt act give a shit DP, I was trying to get our baby to sleep while you 'entertained' yourself on your childs toy xbox.

It hasnt snowed again but its quite icy, DP still went to work. Hes gone to London but says he'll come home early.
I dont want to stay indoors for another day, I seriously need to go out in the fresh air.
I want to go to the breastfeeding group but dont know if anyone will turn up, going to call them to see.

CakeandRoses · 03/12/2010 08:42

No sleep here either. Aurelia was up to high jinks but have no real idea why - altho when i deswaddled and desleeping bagged this morning her i saw her 'big' toe was at a very odd angle poking out of her sleepsuit leg - so it could have been that. Hope not or i'm a very bad mummy.

Did anyone get any sleep?

Chulita · 03/12/2010 08:51

mlic did you DH get home ok in the end?
I'm with you on the fed up front. S had 'last' feed at 10.30, dd was up from 11.00 til 2am, S was up at 3, 5, 6 and has just got up for the day.
tsc I agree with cakes, life's deffo too short to ignore someone you love for long. As you know the first year's the hardest!
stac that's where I bought it, loving the free postage :)
dh my dh is a bed thief so he knows not to complain about how much I take up Grin
I need to get out today, L's been in all week!
cakes I'm sure you're right about the chatter, last week she wasn't putting 2 words together and now she's got a few couplets. It's very cute!

Chulita · 03/12/2010 08:52

x-posts cake, that's probably all she was trying to tell you all night Wink

CakeandRoses · 03/12/2010 09:06

Was just about to post how awful our night was but compared to your night tsc it was alright. Poor you it just seems to be one thing after another for you Sad I feel a bit useless here I wish I could be of more help to you.

As I said my night was nothing compared to tsc's but it was still a bad night for us bethan grumbled the whole night I think she must of been cold as she settled finally when I took her into bed at 5am. Dh got back about 6:30 so he took Dylan to nursery only to be turned back as the pipes had frozen.

So I know have an unsettled baby and a hyperactive child to keep quite again! And to just top of my day I have to try and bring order to my shit tip of a house as the inlaws are coming. Although that's all up in the air at the moment as ni trains are going past Edinburgh.

stac14 · 03/12/2010 11:05

hey ladies, tsc sorry you had a shit night, i can understand why your angry at dp but as the others have said lifes too short. Maybe this afternoon would be a good time to talk. Have you found out what to do about the worms?

chulita it was a great buy, do you use it a lot?

dh hope you manage to get out

dythlan soz you had a shitty night you must be knackered

cakes i didnt sleep either but not cause of r it was my sis appearing at midnight, fecking pest

kk i jumped on the bandwagon and bought that dvd. How are you today? X

CakeandRoses · 03/12/2010 11:31

fucking bloody non-napping children

have been walking in circles between them for 30 mins now

have lost my sense of humour, patience and the plot

i have just really shouted at F, which i hate doing but he's still not bloody down and A is still bloody crying

i'm sick of the pair of them

CakeandRoses · 03/12/2010 11:38

and now i've broken my own code of practice by pinning F to the bed (not actually pinning but stopping him getting up) whilst leaving A to cry Sad

F went to sleep in about a minute, A now will only stop crying if i hold her (which is rare for her) and now i feel like crap

this too will pass, this too will pass, it's just a phase, it's just a phase

tsc i know this is nowhere near as bad as your night so i'm also thinking if you. hope things get better for you today

Woodlands · 03/12/2010 11:41

oh no, sounds like some bad nights and mornings all round. i had an okish night. j went off to sleep at 8 but then woke up when dh dropped something. fed him again, set the mobile off etc, but he was still grizzling at about 10. popped in a couple of times to reassure him while trying to get organised to come to bed, then suddenly he was asleep! it's the first time he's grizzled himself to sleep at night, normally a grizzle fairly rapidly turns into full on screaming. then he woke at 2.20ish for a feed, then again at 5.30, then at 7.30, but then i firmly brought him into bed and went back to sleep till 10. oops...

Hello all,

could I still join in?

My baby daughter was born 28th July. She is my first one.

I am still struggeling with the idea that she doesn't come with an instruction manual and that I have to figure everything out by trial and error. So many decisions to make and I am not good at making decisions anyway, nevermind when it comes to babies.

Anyway, hope you don't mind me butting in...

DesperateHousewife21 · 03/12/2010 12:57

Welcome trudyla to our sleep-deprived thread Grin

I got out to the breastfeeding group, then went to tesco.
Dylan's naps have now gone down to 20 mins :(

welcome trudyla hope you enjoy gabbing x

Trudyla · 03/12/2010 13:31

Oh dear, sleep-deprived and falling down thread :o

I know what you mean though. My daughter used to sleep really well (9pm to 6 or 7am) but has now decided to wake all night. She is EBF but she does not want to feed. She just wants to be held and cuddled. So for the past week she has slept on me, while I sit/lie on the sofa scared of moving. I am too scared of suffocating her to take her to bed with me. So sitting all night on the sofa with her it is. Not great for my neck and sleep. Oh well, I am still hoping this will stop soon Hmm

As far as I can tell, I am not alone though, am I. Everybody seems to struggle with nocturnal babies at the moment.

Other than that, things are fine. She has just started to giggle and laugh, which is super cute.

We had a nightmare establishing breastfeeding and it has only been 2 weeks that I can do it relatively pain free. Not sure whether it will last though. It really does not come natural to us Sad

Trudyla · 03/12/2010 13:32

Oh and thanks for the welcome everybody and yes, gabbing I enjoy Grin
