OOOH what did you all get from DP/DH/DCs?

DP got me Chanel Mademoiselle (sp?) perfume (I asked for it!)
He also got me Beauty and the Beast on Blu-Ray, its one of my fav Disney films :)

CrimboCakeandRoses · 25/12/2010 13:37

Merry Christmas to you all and your families Xmas Smile

Had a terrible night with F but we think Santa has indeed come up trumps with the new teeth as he's been like a different boy today - actually eaten with painkillers for the first time in a week!

CrimboCakeandRoses · 25/12/2010 19:56

without painkillers i meant.

putting babies to bed at last - yay! time to collapse on the sofas have some time with dh.

dh my dh is a good present-buyer, he's more like a woman in that he seems to enjoy hunting out lots of lovely things - it's one of his strong points Smile He bought me a zoom lens for my camera, Chanel Allure perfume, some Lush smellies and other bits and pieces.

Oh and F and A got me some vouchers for my fave local beauty salon - can't wait to escape them to use them Grin

kk v Envy of your kol tickets!

memphis83 · 25/12/2010 19:57

dh i got loads from dh, new charms for my bracelet, baking stuff, a photo frame thats engraved from L, a Superdry coat, earmuffs and other little bits, got a huge sack from my mum and one from my dad too, also guitar hero and skateboard for the Wii, and about £500 in vouchers and cash (can you tell im the baby of my mums lot!!)
sadly my brothers dog became ill and got rushed to vets during day though, i didnt get my puppy i wanted, birthday in 4 weeks maybe then?!
right then im off for a well deserved bath, may even eat trifle and drink fizz while in there!!!

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 25/12/2010 21:53

Phew. Finally time to sit down! What a mad day!!!

I have had a lovely day, we all have. E was completely wiped out tonight and I whipped him straight from the car into bed with hardly a stir, as I'd got him ready for bed at Mam's before we left. I got quite a bit from dh/dcs/the dogs - a dress, some pyjamas, some Guerlain perfume (Idylle), some Guerlain mascara and cream, some Clinique bits...erm, he's mentioned an experience day too.

I was so pleased as we got Mam (and dad technically but it's really for mam) a computer and she's over the moon with it. Got dh's Aunt a posh hamper as she doesn't have any money and I wanted to get her some bits she'd never buy herself, and she really loved it. And got dh a starter for his pilot's license at our local airport, which he loves and some bits and bobs which all went down well so I was very happy with all the reactions :)

My discovery is, it would appear that W is lactose intolerant. Remember me saying 'if it's just teeth why aren't the drugs working, they're supposed to be effective in 15 minutes and he's screaming'? Well, I have discovered that despite being sugar-free, they are almost all not suitable for sufferers of lactose intolerance. This includes calpol, calprofen, nuroen, the cough medicine...everything! In my haste to help, it would appear that I was in fact hindering, making the situation 10 times worse simply by trying to ease his pain. I only worked all this out over the phone with a pharmacist on Christmas Eve at about 5.45 and all the pharmacies shut at 6, so I haven't been able to give him anything except teething gel until I can find something that he can take. So he's had a good morning but suffered quite a lot this afternoon, sobbing and red-cheeked, as teething gel is shit. Apparently the anbesol liquid is much better (is that what you use cake?) and the phamacist says he could have it.

As time goes on, I'm more and more nervous about weaning. I hope we don't have to wait long for the dietician appointment.

Xmasstac · 25/12/2010 22:21

hey ladies sounds l ike we have all had a fantastic day. I got money, clothes and other bits and bobs so hitting the sales tomorrow before we go to my aunts for dinner.

mlic i would never have thought about that being a problem but its a good thing you have found out hun now you can avoid things. regarding the lactose intolerance would it be worthwhile checking onlie to see if you can find dietry advice? soz if you've already done that. you have done amazing to get this far hun

well totally knackered so off to bed, catch up soon

CrimboCakeandRoses · 25/12/2010 23:03

sounds like we've all a lovely day

wow mlic - well done for deducing that but what a mare for you and w.

could a pharmacist make you up a generic prep of a painkiller without lactose in a baby-friendly concentration?

yy, tis the liquid i've been raving about. millions time better than gel.

Hey tsc (returned renewed with capitals?! it is really you, isn't it? can't imagine the tsc that i knew using capitals Grin)

don't feel bad about clara's christmas presents, at three they still don't really have any real expectations about presents. bless her being thrilled, the little sweetie.

hunt for a lump in your boob like the holy grail. seriously, if it's mastitis it'll be hiding in there somewhere you just have to find it - it can take a while. ime, you have a window of opportunity to work the blighter out before the flu symptoms set in. i've twice managed to get a lump out before i got ill with it. i find 'massaging' it in a very hot bath does it best.

arrggh re boiler! why do they always play up at xmas! two different boilers have done it to us three xmasses in a row now! when can you get it fixed.

good luck! and Merry christmas!

CrimboCakeandRoses · 26/12/2010 00:34

"very hot bath" / broken boiler. dumbass

SpiraelingSnowflakes · 26/12/2010 08:10

Morning all! Not been on here recently, my 'D'H gave me his cold for Christmas... Lovely. However he also gave me the next book in a series I've been reading (which I didn't even know was out yet!) and a new game for the Xbox360, so I guess I can forgive him! Grin

Hope everyone had a good Christmas! Mine wasn't too bad, though humming pipes kept us awake until midnight and then M decide to wake us at 5am for the day. Hmm However my parents took her out for a walk in the afternoon so DH and I could go back to bed for a few hours and catch up on sleep, best Christmas present ever!

Anyway, I notice we're reaching the end of this thread... My brain is a bit like cotton wool currently, but here are some offerings for a new title:

July 2010: Time to start weaning, soon we'll be spending all our time cleaning!

July 2010: Better child-proof the home, it won't be long now 'til our babes start to roam!

July 2010: Full of festive cheer. Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year!

Xmas Grin, don't pack your bags just yet tsc, my vote's for the second one.

Awful night again. I feel like we're back to the old days :(

DesperateHousewifeIsXmasCrazy · 26/12/2010 10:05

Another vote for the second one :)

I cant believe xmas is over, such a big build up and the day is over before you know it.
Lots of pics from yesterday up on fb, its the album called Dylan's First Xmas, obv Xmas Wink

We tried him with cauliflower yesterday but he wasnt very impressed.

DP got Kinect for the xbox so will be setting that up soon, I want that dance game!

mliff Dylan was awful on xmas eve night but last night he was so over whelmed he slept quite well, typical. I was so tired all day yesterday so kind of spoilt it for me.

i vote for the 2nd one too cos my house is a bloody tip just now. I am shattered r slept for 20mins all day yesterday the was up and down all night. Her cough is sore sounding but she's still chirpy. Have to do it all again today with my family, could sleep for week x

CrimboCakeandRoses · 26/12/2010 16:30

vote for second one two, thanks spirael

everyone quite yuk here - aurelia full of cold and 'slept' terribly last night. DH is in bed with 'flu'. I've got a cough, cold and stuff (ie basically the same as dh) but carrying on like a brave old soldier as someone has to. Felix is finally the best one of us all but he's still full of snot. i'm just so so happy that he's well(ish) and eating finally again tho. he's visibly lost weight tho Sad

i'm sat up at the kitchen table drinking tea and listening to van morrison and sam cooke, whilst aurelia snuffles away in her bouncy chair and felix does crazy dancing between the kitchen and utility room - like any other day of the week. doesn't really feel like boxing day tbh!

WhatSheSaid · 26/12/2010 17:34

I reckon lots of nurofen, paracetomol, hot drinks and rest for all the sick people.

My brother's kids woke up at 10 to 3 on Christmas Day, came into his and sil's bedroom saying "Santa's been!". Couldnt get them back to bed so they were all up from then on...

CrimboCakeandRoses · 26/12/2010 18:53

"one two"...? Hmm

just got dh out of bed (he's feeling better again) to watch the last shrek on dvd with us. putting the dc to bed shortly then hopefully having a nice dinner together.

2.50am wss Shock

Trudyla · 26/12/2010 19:44

Hi ladies

Just wanted to wish all the poorly ones a quick recovery.

Will catch up properly soon.

Glad Christmas is over. Bah! Humbug! Xmas Blush

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 26/12/2010 19:53

2:50? Ouch! I feel their pain though Wink

I have been shopping today and got some ointment for my poorly eye, which I now have a stye in and got some wonder liquid anbesol liquid and some boots own brand ibuprofen which doesn't have lactose intolerance warnings. I also now know that Medisol is ok for him to use if I need something paracetamol-based. He was pretty upset this morning but had a long nap whilst shopping and behaved himself while we had some tea - other than being sick after 3 mouthfuls of solids (which he did yesterday too) he's been good this afternoon.

My eye really hurts :(

WhatSheSaid · 26/12/2010 19:56

What amazed me was that after getting up at 2.50 am my sil then went for a run on Christmas morning Shock. Now that's devotion to exercise.

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 26/12/2010 20:22

New thread ladies

memphis83 · 26/12/2010 20:59

evening everyone, mlic ouch a stye!!? i had those as a kid i dont envy you one bit, i think we must be the only house that isnt ill out of this thread, although my tooth is killing, trust me to have a dentist that closes for the whole of xmas! i would pay good money to have it sorted, sadly it looks like it may only be sorted with that operation! :(
