Phew. Finally time to sit down! What a mad day!!!
I have had a lovely day, we all have. E was completely wiped out tonight and I whipped him straight from the car into bed with hardly a stir, as I'd got him ready for bed at Mam's before we left. I got quite a bit from dh/dcs/the dogs - a dress, some pyjamas, some Guerlain perfume (Idylle), some Guerlain mascara and cream, some Clinique bits...erm, he's mentioned an experience day too.
I was so pleased as we got Mam (and dad technically but it's really for mam) a computer and she's over the moon with it. Got dh's Aunt a posh hamper as she doesn't have any money and I wanted to get her some bits she'd never buy herself, and she really loved it. And got dh a starter for his pilot's license at our local airport, which he loves and some bits and bobs which all went down well so I was very happy with all the reactions :)
My discovery is, it would appear that W is lactose intolerant. Remember me saying 'if it's just teeth why aren't the drugs working, they're supposed to be effective in 15 minutes and he's screaming'? Well, I have discovered that despite being sugar-free, they are almost all not suitable for sufferers of lactose intolerance. This includes calpol, calprofen, nuroen, the cough medicine...everything! In my haste to help, it would appear that I was in fact hindering, making the situation 10 times worse simply by trying to ease his pain. I only worked all this out over the phone with a pharmacist on Christmas Eve at about 5.45 and all the pharmacies shut at 6, so I haven't been able to give him anything except teething gel until I can find something that he can take. So he's had a good morning but suffered quite a lot this afternoon, sobbing and red-cheeked, as teething gel is shit. Apparently the anbesol liquid is much better (is that what you use cake?) and the phamacist says he could have it.
As time goes on, I'm more and more nervous about weaning. I hope we don't have to wait long for the dietician appointment.
