Woodlands you're not a bad mum, it's hard when they wake all the time like that. And everything seems worse when you're tired.

Dylthan it sounds tough, especially trying to keep a 3 year old quiet all day - I have a 3 yr old too! Hope his nursery opens again soon, my dd1 has just started going to kindy (what nursery is called here) for 3 afternoons and it's a lifesaver - a few hours of quiet when I can get things done or slob out on the sofa. It's totally normal to struggle with an older child and a baby - it's a slog sometimes.

I'd love a 3rd child but realistically I don't think we will. 40 next year and I don't want to push my luck. Plus I know I'd be even more knackered with 3. Plus we're skinter-than-skint. Always wanted more but I think I'm pretty happy with my 2 girls.

tsc it's not to do with 'fatness' but with developmental milestones. As his mum you'll know better than anyone whether he's ready or not. DD was ready a couple of weeks earlier than 26 imo, I know that at 18 (?) weeks S is nowhere near ready, so we're waiting. S is about the same age as F and he was 14lbs 10 days ago so F is a lot heavier!

good luck mlic!

Aww thanks memphis I love Dreya?s name and think she?s blooming gorgeous but figured I might be slightly biased!

Hey what?s all this about a 4 month sleep regression?? Nobody tell Dreya please as I?m hoping she doesn?t know about it. Although tooth number 2 is not coming through as easy as the first one. She has bright red cheeks and is chewing everything including her clothes, my clothes, muslin cloths!

Please don?t change this into a wedding thread as the closest I got to getting wed was buying a dress, setting a date then dumping the poor guy 6 months before the big day!!

Tsc bless little frankles ear, I?d have shit myself too! I?d have a word with hubby tho mate and tell him he?s not a student so his mate can?t come to stay for pissed up weekends!

tsc think of all those evil calorie-laden glasses of wine that your little boy is saving you from
and goodnight, to dreamfeed or not to dreamfeed - that is the question...

I'm here mlic - confession time: I only just remembered about the new thread this evening so I kept thinking everyone was quiet all day so thought I'd better play it cool! ;-)

Tsc - just showed dh your swimming pool story. Laughed my head off again. Did you start out wearing the bottoms then take them off?

Had an awful day with felix. Teething again and totally insane. Have spent the day 'alone' with him as the friend I had arranged to meet today was ill. He's had so many mental episodes over nothing (he's not usually the tantrumming type at all) eg cos he wanted to take all his trains down for breakfast, he hid/lost his fave train then forgot where it was, he needed to lie on my right breast if I fed A from my left and vice versa, etc etc. I tell you, his trains are lucky I didn't just drown them all in bleach.

In contrast, A's been a little star, thank god.

morning ladies, how was your nights? R got very grumpy bout 8.30 with her teeth, she was really screaming so it was calpol for her as the gel was lasting only a few minutes.

tsc r was 17.2 at 20+6 and the hv said even if she hadnt had reflux the chances are she would be ready for grub. I agree with the others trust your instincts. Bet he loves it lol

chulita sorry if i missed your post but did you get the house? X

woods your not a bad mum babies are very hard work. Hope your better soon

mlic i felt that with r regarding the weaning but she eventually started to eat better, she doesnt take loads and wears lots of it but it is starting to help.

Snow is still going here and dp has decided we're grounded again, we'll see! I have loads to do and the pram wouldnt go through the snow. Soz sound like a total whinger. Anyway hope you have a good day x

Chulita · 30/11/2010 07:47

stac we're waiting to hear, supposedly yesterday but I'm going to ring today and hassle them. We've offered above the asking price and we're paying cash so they shouldn't have much to think about... Hope you get out today!
tsc I don't blame you for not going back, I don't think I could either!
mlic didn't have to bother in the end, S woke himself - why I ever doubted he would I don't know.
Didn't get to sleep til gone midnight last night what with L waking with a horrible cough and S needing feeding every 40 mins Hmm Then L slept from midnight but S was up twice more. I hope L shifts this croup soon, sounds awful and there's nothing you can do for it :(

stac14 · 30/11/2010 07:54

is it croup you put them in a steam filled room chulita? Sounds like they would be mad to not accept your offer, good luck x

Chulita · 30/11/2010 08:00

Thanks! :) I think it is steam you need

Chulita · 30/11/2010 08:00

memphis I'm glad you can get to this group, hopefully you'll meet some lovely ladies that you can meet up with outside of the group!

morning all,

it's snowing here too at last - make no mistake, i'm not actually happy about it. after getting snowed in for a week in wales last year, i'm so over snow.

sorry that most of you are having a terrible of it sleep-wise at the mo. how the hell you're coping with that plus still keeping the show on the road by taking them to classes, doing housework, looking after your other children etc, i don't know! I'm seriously impressed by you all - hope your dp/dhs are too! **

memphis i second what tsc just said about your progress and the way you kept pushing til you got help. I'm proud of you too. I love the way mlic recently coined the phrase 'did a memphis on them' to describe flipping out on medical professionals until they bloody well take you seriously! Grin

needle great to have you back, girl! sounds as tho you've weathered the worst of it.

Your house sounds seriously cold though. I do not know how you're coping with that. What's the delay in getting it sorted - cash, time or just procrastination? Could you kick it off yourself? I've ended up managing all the renovation work in my house as dh just can't/won't and i've now got myself some seriously good builders and tradesmen. If you're interested i can see if the plumber would come over your way to quote you for boiler/central heating? He's a dream to deal with - a real gentleman. Funnily enough he came to my rescue and fitted a new boiler here at xmas last year!

In the meantime, can you buy yourself a few of the portable oil-free radiators- they're pretty good. A tumble dryer sounds a must in your situation too!

CakeandRoses · 30/11/2010 09:19

needle - i did try to include link the the type of rad i mean but MN kept crashing with it. if you don't know what i mean i'll message you the link on fb

tsc - i literally can't think of anything more funny or embarrassing! and the way dp dealt with it - soo gallant! Grin do you still blush when you think of it?
