Hello trudyla. You've come to the right place if your baby doesn't like sleep! You'll have to watch out for mlic and chulita tho, a right pair of piss-taking vipers Wink

Thanks chulita. Mr F slept for 1.5 hours after I forced encouraged him to earlier. DH offered to come home to help, bless him but actually just had lunch with me (and talked over his work problems Hmm) because all was calm here by then (of course).

F awoke in such a sweet mood, playing nicely with his brio whilst I bathed his angel of a sister. This went on for quite a while until I realised (at gone 2pm) that he hadn't had any lunch... great.mother.com

mlic is E ok?

sorry, i meant W. doh!

aurelia's teething really badly. wasn't til you mentioned the powders that i remembered i got her a necklace. have just put it on. felix cried his eyes out cos he thought it was his!

aurelia, the poor mite has got a cough/cold/effects from 2nd jabs/teething AND i banged her head on a door earlier Sad

Woodlands · 03/12/2010 15:49

need biscuits. and chocolate. i am eating for england at the moment! cold weather + big hungry EBF boy = need lots of calories. have just finished the chocloate i bought for DH, ooops. might need to get him to bring home some more...

DesperateHousewife21 · 03/12/2010 16:50

I went to bed earlier and Dylan fed himself to sleep too, we were there for 2 hours when DP came back!

I feel a bit sick though, sleeping in the day sometimes makes me feel worse Confused

We're having mcd's tonight, havent got anything to cook and just cant be bothered.

Chulita · 03/12/2010 16:59

Harrumph ...

Trudyla · 03/12/2010 17:06

Mmmh, biscuits, chocolate and McD. I could eat all of that. In fact I am hungry all the time. M is a right little chubster and really thriving on breast milk, but it doesn't mean that I'm losing the weight. Not fair!

I think she must be teething, too. She is drooling like crazy, biting on everything, but as soon as it goes in her mouth, she cries in pain. Poor baby Xmas Sad

DH, i know what you mean about daytime napping. I never do it coz I always get up feeling much much worse.

Chulita · 03/12/2010 17:07

We've got a christmas do tonight...I'd rather have an early night tbh but I found a gorgeous dress in TKMaxx so at least I can look like a lady for once instead of a mum. Still got the lurgy so I'll be knocking things on the head quite early I think. Fingers crossed S sleeps well for grandma!
dh enjoy your mcd's, no shame in fast food when you need it!
woodlands join the club, can't stop eating at the mo but not much seems to be getting worn off by S.
stac I've only done the dvd once and would've done it today but I don't feel the greatest (starts making excuses 2nd day in)

DesperateHousewife21 · 03/12/2010 17:23

Im so looking forward to it aswell chulita Grin

Im a tad confused over the whole weaning onto solids business.

I read different info on diff websites, my HV tells me one thing, other mums tell me another.
I know I should go with my own instinct and do what I think is right but at the same time I dont want to give him something he cant have etc.

Im going to do a mixture of BLW and spoon feeding depending on how he takes to it all.

Ive read Anna Karmel's website and written a few things down so I remember.
My HV said he cant have wheat products before 7 months, but on the website it says these are ok from 6 months.

Thats just one example of the conflicting advice.

Ive posted a convo in weaning so hopefully will get some guidance there.

Thanks mlic :)
Well done on the solids! Hope it settles him.

Dylthan · 03/12/2010 19:39

Oh no so many teething babies. D didn't get his first tooth till he was over a year old and in never botherd him that much he just drooled for Scotland for a couple of months. B is a diffrent story she just cries in pain at times it's awful and descends on everything like a hungry monster trying to shove everything into her mouth and chew I'm sure it's teething pains. mlic what teething powde do you use. My sil recommended a powder that's ment to be great but I've forgotten it's name.

Well pil are due to get a bus at 8:45pm as there were no trains so they won't be getting here until 1-2am if the wether holds which is looking unlikely. Although dh is on standby in the depot tonight so they can't be expecting any snow he thinks he will be out though. Mil says as long as they can get up it dosen't matter if it snows and everything is closed because they'll just stay as long as it takes Confused it's a not a happy thought for me.

chulita have a great night tonight. I'm sure s will be fine if your kids are anything like mine who always behave like angels for everyone else.

CakeandRoses · 03/12/2010 19:42

Evening all,

Fab news on viper boy jnr's W's eating, mlic. Is that the most he's had?

Hope you have a good night out chulita, nice to get dressed up and slide out of the viper's nest house.

Can we make up now? I'm all out of viperisms :-)

dh I thought 6m for wheat too. The blw book is worth buying imo.

trudyla teething is so crap, non? I'm so over having two teething at once.

//Hurries to obey mlic, in view of vipergate//

Hope my post makes sense dh, I struggle with long sentences on my frikkin blackberry as I can't easily see what I've written!

CakeandRoses · 03/12/2010 20:22

It's 'By a country mile'

:-)

CakeandRoses · 03/12/2010 20:27

A year old dylthan. Gawd ds got his first at exactly 6m and every tooth was a nightmare so it feels like it's been going on forever. Was hoping dd would be different but it's not looking good.

That's interesting re nelsons mlic. I didn't find ashtons worked at all but maybe I should try nelsons

memphis83 · 03/12/2010 20:46

evening ladies
cake the nelsons powder works really well for L too stops tears within minutes, they say repeat after 2 hours and almost dead on 2 hours later he starts to grizzle
mlic well done W lets hope it lasts!!

left for work at 6.15am worked outside in -3 drove an hour to get home to no bloody water, the pipes had frozen, i was wailing i need a bath and what if i need the toilet? i had visions of running over to fil's in the night to use loo, but hurrah we have water again! L is in bed, and ive just had a chinese, we are getting the tree up tomorrow so i can take my xmas card pics dh never listens, ive gone on about out homemade xmas cards since i gave birth and he goes to card shop and spends a fortune on the cards for his whole family, not even looking at the pics buying cousin cards for girls with boys skateboarding on the ffs, i swear he puts me on mute! he had to go emergency dentist and needs a root canal and crown the week b4 xmas so we will be skint after that!!

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 03/12/2010 20:50

ds1 was almost 9 months for his first tooth so I am under no illusion that ds2 will get any teeth soon, but they're definitely bothering him.

The teething bead thing I got of Amazon is ok but I got this one today and it's the first one he's been able to hold comfortably and put in his mouth for more than a couple of seconds.

Got teething gel, a teether, calpol, cough medicine and olbas oil. Think I'm ok for medicines for a week away Wink Also got ds2 a new hat/mittens set and some bedtime bath lotion. These children will be in the fresh air all day and will get knackered and will sleep well while we're away [hopeful mam emoticon]

CakeandRoses · 03/12/2010 21:06

ah, was about to ask you about teethers mlic

that hand one doesn't look like it'd work but it's weird the things babies can/can't manage.

think i'll try it too

the only thing A can hold in her mouth is a fabric mouse rattle but as its soft, it's prob not helping much.

do you think the beads will be better later on? can i have that link again pls?

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 03/12/2010 21:19

The thing with this one is that it isn't chunky enough I think. He just want's something to have a good ol' chew on and this one is too tricky at the moment I think. Probably much better on teeth further back but those front ones just make 'em want to bite don't they.

I have to confess, the solids he took tonight were not made by my fair hand. I got a bit sick of throwing my efforts away and so bought an Ella's Kitchen sweetcorn, pumpkn and pea pouch while I was out this afternoon. It would appear it's much tastier than my offerings to date Smile

DesperateHousewife21 · 03/12/2010 21:20

RAHHHHHHHH!

Dylan wont go to sleep, he wont even feed, hes fighting it and DOING MY HEAD IN!
