Aw mlic hope you're feeling a bit better now. Really wish we could help.
Sounds like everybody had a crap night. Mine was no better. Was up half the night with her and she ended up in the bed with us and she promptly fell asleep and i couldn't sleep cos she had her head buried into mine. She wasn't even crying just whimpering and fidgety and she keeps pulling blabkets and comforter and anything else over her face and then lies star shaped and kicks! she obviously likes having things over her face cos she keeos doing it but i always have to pull it off cos im afraid she cant breathe. I think the next couple of nights will see her in her own room.
Needle how are things with you?

update re anbesol: dh has just got some, haven't used it yet as she's ok at the mo but will update you later when we have.

you need to ask the pharmacist for 'Anbusol liquid' (not gel). Was £4.50 in boots.

kk it is fine for babies (at least the one on sale here is) but there is an adult version which is maybe all you can get hold of over there?

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 04/12/2010 12:30

kk I can't wait to go away on Monday cos I'll be able to trial putting ds2 in his own room. If he sleeps better in there then I will either move the crib in and out of the spare bedroom every morning and night (there's not enough room to leave it in there permanently) or I will see how he gets on sleeping with ds1, who I am sure will be a lot quieter than us especially dh's ridiculously loud snoring and for God's sake he even YAWNS loudly.

Dh took his car to the garage this morning for a minor job. He just rang me and said he might buy a new one Confused

Glad you had a good-ish night chulita :)
Let's hope these LOs start sleeping soon.

I feel pretty low today but trying to put a brave face on it. A change is as good as a rest hey? Hopefully next week will help me pick up a bit.

CakeandRoses · 04/12/2010 13:10

great thread re come dine with me

who of ours is going on it? spirael? (or is this you in disguise?)

Chulita · 04/12/2010 13:18

wasn't gracie going to go on it?
just had a 2 hour nap while dh held the fort and not sure if I feel worse...
dh when I finally settled S after his 8 hour wakeful session he then woke 4 times before we got up for the day Confused

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 04/12/2010 13:20

It was gracie but she pulled out as she didn't want to leave the kids for a week

CakeandRoses · 04/12/2010 13:32

Anyone want to compare horror stories of their physical state at the mo? I'm hoping to hear that we've seen some improvement plus it would be nice to hear some positive news from those with babies a bit older than A (4 months old on the 27th Nov) so i have some hope of things improving soon...

Hair: seems unchanged so far altho i do see lots hanging out of A's mouth, tied round her neck, and in Felix's dinner Blush ("Mummy's hair!") so am awaiting bald spot

Boobs: still looking baywatch big n bouncy from bf but scarily flat after a feed

Tum: Flattish - am actually quite relieved about the state of this, 4 months after birth. I used to have a concave stomach with actual real abs once, mind.

C-sec scar: all pink, not much sensation and 1mm below the old scar (despite them saying it would be on the old one [fussy emoticon])

Hips: Still lardy (tis my weak spot, as I'm pear shaped an hour glass)

Overall weight: Think about 1/2 stone over my pre-baby weight (not totally sure due to aforementioned attractive and yet useless scales)

Don't let me reveal all this and no-one else reply now. Please!

CakeandRoses · 04/12/2010 13:32

we've all seen

Chulita · 04/12/2010 13:34

CakeandRoses · 04/12/2010 13:35

oh and all of the above are covered in spots Angry

CakeandRoses · 04/12/2010 13:37
Trudyla · 04/12/2010 13:40

OK, can't leave you hanging...

Hair: I'm surprised there is still any left on my head. It's everywhere. In every meal, in M.'s hands, on my clothes, on the computer, in the fridge. WTF?

Boobs: Painful. OK looking before feed, empty looking after.

Tum: Still too much bulge and some angry looking pink stretch mark. I was told they will turn into fine white lines? I think that's another lie, isn't it. Just like bf will make me lose weight and won't be painful.

Overall weight: A bit less than a stone to lose for pre baby weight and 1.5 stone to lose for ideal weight.

So I only joined yesterday and today I'm revealing all this. Man, I'd do anything to be liked and accepted Xmas Blush Xmas Grin

kkfairybrains · 04/12/2010 13:42

Hopefully it works out for you mlic..have everything crossed for you! and the week away from normal surroundings will do you the world of good. Wow at your dh buying a new car! i'd love a new car but still trying to get rid of my old one!
Cakes i think that may be the case. We can't even get calgel or gripe water here. So it's probably thr same one. We have to go up the north to get all them bits. I find it brilliant anyway so hope it works for you! It's actually peace of mind for me to know that in the uk you can use it on babies as i felt a bit iffy about using it!
Chulita was meant to ask how do you feel after thr shred? im really sore today. Even coughing hurts my non existent abs..

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 04/12/2010 13:56

Ha ha trudyla! not at your physical state-at doing anything to he accepted!!
Oh man here goes...
Hair- falling out in clumps :( have very thick hair though so its not all bad but im starting to notice what looks like a receding hairline Hmm
boobs- still as large as they were when pg. Really want them to go down but it's just not happening!
Tum- how can i describe it?....a mess. Gone down a lot but i always feel the need to wear smoother pants under everything. Would flab over everything if i didn't.
Weight- need to lose 2 stone Blush
keep.meaning to ask cakes what does chamomile tea do?

OP posts:
Chulita · 04/12/2010 13:56

Ha! I meant to type a response straight afterwards so as not to leave you hanging but both DC's needed attention. (both are still crying but hey ho...)

Hair: everywhere and really pissing me off, small mouse dies in the shower every day and gets flushed down the loo, surprised there's any left.
Boobs: saggy and flat after a feed, sometimes I wonder how many babies I'll need before they'll reach my waist.
Tum: horrible, the worst part of me. Very flabby and still biggish. Csec scar starting to fade but puckered cos the previous one was badly stitched up and this one's right on top.
Weight: about a stone left to lose and unless I decide to ditch those sausage rolls dh just cooked in favour of the Shred, it ain't gonna happen.
kkfairy* I wasn't going to do it today but I think once S stops crying I'll crack on. It's only 20 mins right? I'm sore from Thursday but couldn't squeeze it in yesterday.

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/12/2010 15:08

Hair: disgusting, needs cutting SO badly.
Boobs- ones a C cup and ones a B cup- enough said on the matter.
Tum- still got the 'pouch'
Weight- not too bad actually, lost nearly 2 stone and havent done any exercise Grin

Spirael · 04/12/2010 15:20

Hiya, I'm here! :)

Sorry for being a bit AWOL lately, RL has been getting in the way. Blush Christmas preparation, house tidying and stuff like getting the car serviced.

I was also worried a bit that I might get lynched joining in the bad sleepers conversation, as M reliably sleeps 7pm-7am each night and I haven't been awake later than 10pm or earlier than 5am with her since September... And there was only one day of 5am.

That's definitely not me in the other thread, Cake. Wink To be honest I've never seen the show in question... Some kind of cooking show? I don't watch much TV. Love cooking though. Grin Might make some Ninja-Bread-Men later with M and DH, as it's Ninja Day this weekend.

As for the current states...

Hair: Has finally stopped falling out in clumps. It's back to normal, fine and straight. Though perhaps not quite as greasy.

Boobs: Comically large still... I look overbalanced. Confused My tops are baggy across the shoulders and tight over my chest.

Tum: Wobbly... But kinda started a bit like that. The stretch marks below my belly button have faded now, but weren't too bad anyway. (M was early, they'd only just started to appear.)

Weight: I'm about a stone heavier than I'd like, but it's slowly dropping now with no real effort on my part. Combo of BFing and running around after DH with 8kg of baby?

I can add too that after suffering bad acne since I was a teenager, I'm now clear. Grin My feet also seem to be permanently wider... Which is great as they started unusually narrow, so now for the first time ever my shoes actually fit me. Woo!

So yeah, I can't really complain. Things are going really well at present. Blush Sorry to hear things aren't going as good for a lot of you. :( I hope they improve!

Dylthan · 04/12/2010 15:51

Ok here goes :

hair: ok but falling out in clumps and is everywhere the dog has moulted less then I am. Went to the hairdressers last week and the girl that washes your hair asked what my hair was like I said I'd not long had a baby so my hair was falling out still. She then started to wash my hair and said it was alright there was no hair falling out. This I know to be a down right lie because you only have to look at my hair for it to fall out plus when the hairdresser started to comb it she had to keep stopping to untangle my stray hairs from her fingers Blush

boobs : great at present and making the most of them. After I finished brestfeeding dylan they were like two semi deflated ballons and they never recovered Sad

Tum: not good at all! Round and peeps over the top of my trousers. I also have stretch marks now which I'd managed to avoid compleatly first time around.

Weight: back to pre baby weight but not back to the weight that I was before I had to take some antidepressants last year which had a side effect of eating loads. I put on about a stone in amonth and I've never lost it so would like to get round to losing it at some point. Not at christmas time though Xmas Wink I have very little will power.

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 04/12/2010 16:08

I feel shit enough anyway today but here goes:

Hair - still falling out.
Boobs - bad after ds1, hiddeous after ds2. Used to be a lovely, frim, pert 34D, now I'm wearing 34Cs but there's nothing to my boobs anymore. I now know what the phrase 'golf balls in tennis socks' refers to :(
Tum - far too wobbly and the still-very-pink stretch marks don't do it any favours. Put it this way, Centre Parcs won't be seeing me in a bikini next week. (btw trudyla they will fade, but unfortunately it takes a good while). And everything seems, somehow winder.
Weight - somehow funnily enough I'm roughly what I was pre ds2. Pre ds2 I was roughly half a stone heavier than pre ds1. And half a stone lighter than that again when we got married. That is why I want Shred Shed for Christmas Xmas Wink

So glad you have the baby we all want ours to behave like a good sleeper spirael Xmas Envy

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 04/12/2010 16:13

Disclaimer: I had firm breasts, not frim ones.

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 04/12/2010 16:14

Hahaha and I meant wider, not winder Blush

Woodlands · 04/12/2010 17:41

My hair is falling out all over the shop, I pick handfuls off J every day.

My tummy is flattish, surprisingly, but still a crepey texture and with hideous stretch marks. Midwives commented on my stretch marks with surprise, they were that bad. Luckily they're fading now - but I think my bikini-wearing days are over.

My hips and bum are rather large but I can't see them easily...

My boobs seem fine, bigger than usual. I'm a bit alarmed at the prospect of them going all saggy when I stop breastfeeding.

I'm still about half a stone over my pre-preg weight which I thought was pretty good going - am not going to consider dieting until J is on solids. I'm enjoying guilt-free consumption of chocolate/cakes/biscuits etc and I'm not going to worry right now!

CakeandRoses · 04/12/2010 17:59

Just back from lunch at pizza express, where dh relaxed and I changed 3 - yes 3 pooey nappies in the space of 1.5 hours. Bloody restaurants and their sexist baby change facilities!

Thanks for sharing, everyone! Hope you all feel better after that, rather than worse.

I bet everyone looks tons better than they think they do.

mlic do you think it was pg rather than bf that did for your boobs?

I'm scared about mine because I didn't get a chance to see them after bf with F as I was then pg with A.

What car is dh looking at? We're waiting for a new one at the mo, was supposed to be here before xmas but won't be til feb now which'll be too late for our new years hols. (dreading fitting us, 2 children and all our luggage in current car)

trudyla I've a feeling you'll fit right in here!

I only got a few stretchmarks on my tummy with dd (none with ds before) but they've already faded to pretty much nothing. Yours should start to fade soon.

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/12/2010 18:14

We're going to DP's dad's house in a bit for chinese, yum! Ive been craving a chinese for AGES! So excited Grin

CakeandRoses · 04/12/2010 18:14

wwodlands your plan re weight sounds good. I did the same last time with ds and it seems to be working the same way with dd this time. The initial lot just went easily (with bf?) And then the last half stone went slowly - possibly as ds decreased his feeds. I didn't diet or exercise but it all came off by about 8 months I reckon.
