NL...Thanks for your message.I know what you mean and appreciate the time you took to write itSmile
Hope you feeling better soon.

Sexonlegs · 30/12/2010 20:28

Hi all

NL, what a lovely post :)

Dooby, hope you are feeling well. xx

How are we all?

All ok here. Saw Mum on Tuesday. She has gone downhill :( She barely had the strength to talk to me, and was asleep pretty much all the time I was there. My db was there last night with my Dad and it was a good job too, as she fell out of bed amd they had to help her back in (dad has a bad back and is awaiting surgery).

I am going over there tomorrow and may stay over.

Good news is that we have bought a new car - a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso. Dad has given me money to buy it (an early part of my inheritance from him!!)

Hope everyone is doing ok. xx

StealthPolarBear · 31/12/2010 08:14

Can't believe I have missed so much.
Congratulations dooby :) You sounds really stressed, hope some time has helped you figure out your worries. It is lovely news :o

Thanks for car seat answers - I think the answer is I need to get T weighed and measured! I have no idea how much he weighs at all.

NL hope you have recovered.

SOL, so sorry to hear that your mum has gone downhill. What support are you /they getting? Macmillan nurses?

StealthPolarBear · 31/12/2010 08:31

NL, forgot to mention your BIL :( so sorry you are stressed. Your SIL is lucky to have a big sister like you

StealthPolarBear · 31/12/2010 08:31

Morning all and Happy New Year :)

There is never a good time to let people know, but here goes.

My wonderful, brave and loving Mum died yesterday afternoon. I was here (at Mum and Dad's) at the time, and I am so grateful to have been able to be here to say goodbye and to support my amazing Dad who has cared for Mum through all of this.

I am incredibly sad, but at the same time pleased that she can now rest in peace and be free of pain.

I also wanted to say how amazing you have been in supporting me through what has been an incredibly tough 2 years (since Mum was diagnosed). Thank you.

Wishing you all a very happy new year and hopefully we can have a meet up some time.

Lots of love
Claire

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2011 10:55

oh SOL
so sorry
glad you were there when it happened and that it was peaceful (it sounds it from your description)
can't imagine what you are going through - do you have someone to take care of you too?

Northernlebkuchen · 01/01/2011 10:58

There are no words - I'm so sorry.

You've done really well you know - you must have been such a comfort to both your parents.

Be kind to yourself now - take things very, very easy and have lots of cuddles with your family.

CaptainDippy · 01/01/2011 14:31

Oh Claire, how brave you have all been and how sorry I am to hear that your wonderful mum has died. You, your dad & all those who knew and loved her are in my thoughts & prayers right now. We are all here for you. xxxxxxx

oooggs · 01/01/2011 18:53

your amazing mum is very lucky to have had such an amazing daughter. You have been an inspiration to all of us in your strength and support. Thinking of your dad as well and I can't believe it has been 2 years.

Also can't believe that we have all been helping each other through thick and thin for over 4 years now.

Erin has chicken pox, confirmed this morning so if Jack gets it, then Luke, I could be confined to the house until February

CaptainDippy · 01/01/2011 19:23

Let's hope they all get it over & done with oooggs; and quickly!!!!! xxxx

4 glasses of red wine. I am hammered. Hmm

Morning all.

Thank you very much for your kind words; it means a lot.

Cannot believe we are back to school this morning- that's a real shock to the system!

Going to go with Dad today and choose new bedding etc for their bed. He can then move back in from the spare room bless him.

We had a lovely day yesterday. Dad came over for lunch. What I didn't plan for was whilst shopping in Waitrose for lunch stuff (a one off treat!) how overwhelmed I was at seeing lots of ladies who could have been Mum. Was a right old state!

Anyway, hope all is well and will be back later. xx

oooggs · 04/01/2011 13:24

We are back at school & pre school tomorrow, Erin is loads better - looking forward to routine again Wink

Must go shopping for Luke a birthday present, he is 2 in a few weeks!!!!

Bramshott · 04/01/2011 18:32

Sorry to have been so absent for so long, and so very sorry Claire, to hear your sad news. Hope you, and your Dad, and the rest of the family are doing okay. How are B and K taking it?

Our Christmas has been lovely, although I'm actually quite looking forward to getting back to routine tomorrow (inset day today). Feels a bit 'transitional' at the moment as DH is fairly miserable in his job, and I am getting cabin fever from working at home, so we will both be job-hunting in 2011! Who knows what changes the year will bring - although I still can't believe that O will be at school before the end of it!

Glad E is on the mend Oooggs - I saw your facebook post about her suffering with the Chickenpox.

Sorry to hear about your health Dooby - I remember how pleased you were about your nursing job when you got it Sad. Hopefully the hospital will be able to suggest something else worthwhile.
