ScarletBandit · 23/12/2010 18:12

Why Sad SPB? Hope you are ok.

Dooby, glad you have oil, but hope you have now managed to sort out the heating. Can't imagine how cold you must be Sad (meant to be a cold face not a sad one!).

SOL, hope you are doing ok, how is your mum?

Oooggs, know what you mean about dangerous. Was walking out of argos yesterday and did a bit of a bambi routine as I slipped on the ice. Didn't fall thankfully, I would have been mortified!!

I think I am finally ready for Christmas. I have had a horrible cold all week which won't go, still feel rough today and I really don't have time for it, not this week.

Anyway, hope everyone is well. I may not get back on after today so I wish you all a very Merry Christmas from all in the SB household Xmas Smile

oh no dooby! I hope you get back in for Christmas - glad there was room at the inn next door :)

The :( was just at oooggs, sounding stressed! It's horrible when you have loads to do but just get thwarted at every turn - I strated a new job at the beginning of this month and it]'s how i've felt since then, just runnning to catch up with myself. Think things will be much easier in the new year though especially if the damn snow woulg melt

SB hope your cold goes soon. The DCs have one but it's not bad, just runny noses and bedtime coughs

Anyway, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE Xmas Grin

StealthPolarBear · 24/12/2010 08:37

Oh I missed that. Happy erm...anniversary oooggs :) Hope you hvae a good one.
SOL I am another one who finds myself thinking about you and your mum. Hope things are still OK and you can enjoy Christmas x

Luce I will ring you in the New Year - haven't chatted for ages x

hope everyone is ok - I am just waiting till they are all in bed Wink

StealthPolarBear · 24/12/2010 22:18

Well the DCs are in bed & i am just tidying up
We have been without a washing machine for a couple of weeks - it has been a nightmare, and that's even with DH taking loads of it down to his mums the other day and doing it there. It's been fixed today thankfully & I quickly washed the DCs' bedding for tonight. Then I spoke to our neighbours, their pipes have frozen and they have no water at all :( Puts my washing machine winge into perspective!
Dooby, how are you doing? You're even worse than that! I don't know how people manage!

Been meaning to ask - who has their 3yos in a booster now, and who has them still in the 5 point harness seat? A needs to move up into the 5 point one, and need to figure out if I can use the booster all the time for T or whether we need to buy another.

oooggs · 25/12/2010 19:08

how much does T weigh and how old is A?

Sexonlegs · 28/12/2010 09:37

Hello all :)

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas despite colds and burst water pipes. Dooby, you really are having a shocking time aren't you :( xx Are you all sorted now?

SB, hope you are feeling better.xx

SPB, having no washing machine for 2 weeks is a pita so I sympathise. Glad it's all fixed now. Hope you can relax a bit more in the New Year. Juggling things is hard work. xx

Oooggs, apologies for missing your birthday. I saw it was your bday on FB and then forgot to message you!! Hope you had a lovely day.

Hi Luce, NL and everyone I have missed.

Christmas was lovely. We called in at Mum and Dad's first and then went to my brothers and stayed over. Yesterday we were at one of my auntie's houses for a get together which was just fab, and we watched a DVD of the family holiday in Portugal which was lovely- a bit sad as there was footage of Mum looking relatively well and healthy.

Mum is much the same. In bed all the time and getting weaker by the day. It is utterly heartbreaking. Everyone says how well db and I are coping, but I am not sure about that. I feel quite short tempered and also have dizzy spells - is that stress-like symptoms?

Anyway, off to see Mum and Dad this morning so better get on and get dressed!

Thank you again for your wishes and thoughts. I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate it. xx

Doobydoo · 28/12/2010 10:02

SOL...I would say that is stress. You have alot on your plate. You could go to gp and explain how you are feeling [if you have time!] but I would say is stress.
Glad you had lovely though somewhat poignant Christmasxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi TO all...xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ScarletBandit · 28/12/2010 10:07

Hi all.

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas. It was very hectic here! I cooked dinner for 7 of us and had my mum, dad and sister over for the day. It was fab! It was such a lovely day, thoroughly enjoyed by all I think.

SOL, you are doing great under the circumstances. The symptoms you describe sound stress related and I am not surprised you are feeling off centre, you have an awful lot to cope with just now. You sound like you have had a fun time over Christmas which is lovely Smile

Dooby, what a nightmare. Hope things have settled down a bit for you now.

Oooggs, belated anniversary wishes Grin Hope you had a lovely day.

ScarletBandit · 28/12/2010 10:08

Morning dooby!

Northernlebkuchen · 28/12/2010 10:11

SPB - B is still in the 5 point seat but I have noticed she is growing a lot and we will need to move her to the high back booster in a few months - by the summer at the latest.

SOL - sounds like stress to me too. I am terribly short tempered. Having a crap morning tbh - read something in the paper last night that upset me and Rindercellas posts on here and then started thinking about my sister and brother in law. He did not look well when we saw him at the weekend but it still seems incredible that he is terminally ill. I can't believe my baby sister is in all liklihood going to be a widow. I keep thinking about the time before this - when we had no idea this was coming. How foolish it all seems. This time last year......makes me frightened tbh about next year. I HATE feeling anxious like this. Ugh. Anyway SOL - I feel for you.

Doobydoo · 28/12/2010 13:31

Here is something to make you all go Hmm what a twit she is.
Am pregnant early stages am Shockwill not tell anyone in family till given birth ifg poss as feel stupid will be 42 etc. Also pleased, worried etc and scared and feel idiotic. You are only ones that know apart from dp.

Doobydoo · 28/12/2010 13:35

OH NL...SO sorry.None of usknow do we?
Sometimes wonder if we should and then we could prepare ourselves but don't know.I hope we all support each other in 2011 sill and really appreciate support thus far.
Take care ladies.

oooggs · 28/12/2010 14:14

dooby - congratulations, this was me 2 Christmas' ago if you remember under 'notgoodtiming' I know exactly where you are coming from. Be strong - what does dp think? We are also here to help you along the way chick Smile

sol - thinking of you and especially your mum

NL - must be horrible watching your sister deal with this Sad

all fine here, it is amazing having dh home with nothing planned, he normally only has time off if we are going away. So relaxing and not taking for granted Wink

Doobydoo · 28/12/2010 14:55

Thanks OOOGGS.Glad you enjoying all being togetherSmile

Sexonlegs · 28/12/2010 15:37

Oh Dooby, that is lovely news!! How are you feeling? xx

NL, I am so sorry about your brother in law. Will be thinking of you and your family. xx

SB, your Christmas sounded lovely :)

Oooggs, ikwym re having dh at home. Dh has been off since Monday 20th, and it has been lovely. Also handy as he can have the girls whilst I come to Mum and Dad's. Not looking forward to life being back to normal next Tuesday.

Northernlebkuchen · 28/12/2010 16:54

That's lovely news Dooby - three is a magic number Smile

oooggs · 28/12/2010 19:33

sol - dh goes back on 4th also on back shift so straight into bedtimes on my own again Hmm it is really nice to give all the children one to one time. Luke is the lucky one as he gets it alot anyway as he is home all the time while the others at school or pre school it is E&J who dip out the most as they are always 'together'

Doobydoo · 29/12/2010 11:11

Thanks ladies.Feel very worried at mo though re health of baby and me and impact on boys etc.

Northernlebkuchen · 29/12/2010 14:34

Dooby you've got to look at a sibling as a gift. Yes a baby will change things - sometimes my oldest girl gets a mite grumpy about baby/toddler stuff - but for the rest of their lives (God willing) they will have each other - to love, to support, to feel for and stand with. Whatever happens to us they will have each other. 6 months ago I would have said I wasn't really close to my sister. Now I know I am because if I could spare her one minute of pain I would. What touches her, touches me.
I know a family where the first child is severely disabled. How we rejoiced when an unexpected third came along - totally changed the dynamic of the family and means that the second sibling has 'backup' in an uncertain future. I know a family with big age gaps between older dcs and youngest. It had it's ups and downs of course but when the oldest sibling became terminally ill the youngest was there - with all the rest of the family - for her children. Look around at everyone you know and you will see what siblings are for - joy and comfort and life - really powerful thing.
Regarding your health and the baby's - well there's not a lot that can be done but if our good thoughts and prayers can do it it will be done Smile Keeping everything crossed for youboth Smile

Btw - I'm poorly today and I think I've got a bit of a emp so if the above sounds totally mad - it probably is. Grin
