Hi everyone
SOL, what a shock about your mum, that's awful, I am so sorry. Hope you are doing as well as you can be. Good news about your results - something you don't have to think about now.
Happy birthday to James
Dooby, sorry :( Hope they manage to find you something you can enjoy & make a difference in.
Well, DS's spots have almost gone and now DD has the pox :)

weeonion · 11/12/2010 22:04

SOL - so sorry to hear about yr mum. x

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 22:07

hi weeonion, lovely to see you

ScarletBandit · 12/12/2010 10:42

Good morning Xmas Smile

Dippy, my dh wouldn't even entertain getting the snip so good on you for getting yours to go through with it! I am in the definintely no more babies camp too Xmas Grin

Dooby, sorry to hear about your job. I know things are tough in the current climate, but hopefully they will find you something you enjoy just as much as your previous job.
I work in paeds oncology and we have psychologists/counsellors, some of whom are funded through charities. May be worth looking into that avenue, I know clic sargent fund posts so maybe worth contacting somewhere like that?

Oooggs, hope the party went well and James had a lovely day yesterday x

SPB, hope dd isn't too poorly with the pox x

Lovely to see you NL and weeonion Xmas Smile

I have the joy of a children's party this afternoon, it is one of F's school friends and she is very excited about it!

runnyhabbit · 12/12/2010 10:50

Sol - sorry to hear about your mum (and what you've been going through) Lots of love to you x

Pesha - Congratulations! Hope you're feeling better soon. And Xmas Angry at the @*>"% that stole your money.

I do apologise, but I am lol at dhs having the snipXmas Grin The subject has been brought up with dh, but he seems to have selective hearing / memoryXmas Hmm

Take care all x

CaptainDippy · 13/12/2010 14:12

LOL @ your DH's selective hearing RH Xmas Grin My DH has moaned a lot, but I do think he is brave for going through with it ... and to be fair to him, he told me last night how much respect he has for me going through childbirth 3 times; and what I went through with DD1 (3rd degree tear, 32 stitches, 2 blood transfusions etc) .... He said he hadn't appreciated how awful it must've been for me!!! Xmas ShockXmas Grin .....

Hi all.

Lovely to see some "old timers" back on!

Thanks for the messages.

Nothing new to report really. Settled in to the house, awaiting a date for key-hole, and Mum hanging on. Although having just typed that Dad has called to say she is in real pain today for the first time, and will no doubt be on diamorphine. She is also only drinking milk and not eating :(

Dooby, thinking of you and hoping that a role can be found for you. I am sure with your determination and skill they will come up trumps.

LOL at all the snip talk. Dh is adamant he won't be going through that. I think in his dreams he wants more dc, but my shop is well and truly shut for business!!

Hi to everyone I have missed. Still no internet at home so at work. xx

cazboldy · 15/12/2010 08:02

Hi Sol. So sorry to hear about your mum getting worse - can't imagine how hard it must be. How is your dad holding up?

My friends dad is in pieces - she lost her mum to cancer about 10 years ago, and he only found someone else a couple of years ago, anyway last week she was diagnosed with cancer too Sad he is not coping at all, and my friend is so worried for him Sad

My husband wouldn't have the snip either - and I don't think I would want him to either - it's just too final..... lol now you're all thinking "you've got 5 kids ffs sake you mad woman! Xmas Grin"
My Mum even offered to pay for him to be done when we were talking about it one day!

CaptainDippy · 15/12/2010 12:29

So hard for you, and especially for your poor dad Xmas Sad Yes, how is he coping with it all? Horrid. Horrid. Horrid....

...and Xmas Sad for the chap you mentioned Caz, just awful.

Words fail me.

I did have to Xmas Grin @ SOL's "shop being well and truly shut for business"!! LOL Xmas Grin

OP posts:
runnyhabbit · 15/12/2010 14:38

Oh sol Sad and your friend caz xx

Funnily enough, I do think that dh is hoping I will change my mind about more dcXmas Hmm I'm going to use Sols phrase - I'm shut for business Xmas Grin Class quote!

NorthernLurker · 18/12/2010 08:46

Stuck at home today and so far it has snowed the whole time. We have had a lot of snow over the last few days, more than we have had in years and I am fed up of it! I have far too much to get done before the big day to be stuck at home!

Doobydoo · 21/12/2010 08:57

iT IS COLD
We have oil but heating pump broken and pipes frozen am fed up too.
Still at least not homeless.
