no it's called Johnny Test, he would love a Johnny Test and the Dog(whatever that's called!!) but I have looked and it can't be bought. He used to love a film called Meet the Robinsons, which is by Disney but not a popular film, he would've liked figures for that too but I could only find them on ebay in America and they were far too much money for what they were.

I have had a small idea, he loves Ben 10 and insists on wearing the same T-shirt every day so I'm going to buy he a couple more so that he doesn't look like he only has one t-shirt Grin

StealthPolarBear · 08/03/2011 22:09

lol - T is the same, has 2 buzz lightyear T shirts that are identical (or would be if I hadn't tumbled dried one a bit too hot!)
He is also obsessed by Ben 10 - watch, pyjamas, jumper but has never asked to watch the programme - in fact I don't know if he even realises there is one Confused strange child

Sorry I have more sad news to add to our burden. My bil died at home on Sunday morning. My sister is being very brave but it has bee an awful time and is now so very painful. Just off to see her today. I've got three days compassionate leave from work having managed to get through yesterday and Monday getting things sorted out to be off. I feel a bit dazed tbh.
Thinking of you all.

Bramshott · 09/03/2011 10:01

Oh no NL, I was wondering how he was doing Sad. Thinking of you, and your sister, and the whole family. xxx

oooggs · 09/03/2011 19:13

NL really thinking of you and your family Sad

I have more bad news Sad which I have been bottling up and last night I cracked and cried loads Sad a lovely friend found out last Monday that her 1st born had died inside, she then laboured and gave birth on Tuesday.

Her dad has taken a turn for the worst so she flew down to Cornwall from Scotland to visit him to be told he has about a week to go and is now in the hospice. She has flown back as is arranging her daughters funeral and it is on Friday, then is coming back down here and hopefully her dad will still be with us so she can see him.

Her hormones are all over the place Sad

CaptainDippy · 09/03/2011 19:37

Oh my, prayers for your sister and family NL, thank you for taking the time to tell us; and for your lovely friend with her stillbirth and the imminent death of her father, oooggs, so glad you found you could cry, it does help. I am so very sorry Sad Words aren't enough. Sad

No change for DF's sister sadly, not looking good Sad My foster mum has another hospital appt tomorrow and is pretty down etc still, hoping the appt can give her something positive to work towards.

I had to go and have a biopsy today because of a wonky Smear; and it hurt - no one told me it was going to hurt, still very tender now Sad

Too many Sad faces. Brew all round xxxx

No idea what we will get Little P for her Birthday, probably a couple of dressing up dresses for Disney Princesses - she wears Cinderella every single day and it is getting rather worn and manky. Think she would most like Sleeping Beauty and / or Belle from Beauty and the Beast. We shall see .....

on a happier note we have bought erin a wooden dolls house (in sale after christmas) and jack is getting a wooden castle with knights. They are also having 2 wheeler scooters (greatgrandparents) erin a belle outfit and jack a storm trooper outfit (nanny) Jack is having dinosaurs (grandparents) & erin is a bit difficult other than that!!!

CaptainDippy · 09/03/2011 19:44

Ah Ha !! Perfect!! Grin

StealthPolarBear · 09/03/2011 20:01

So sorry to hear your news NL. Thinking about you and your sister.
Awful news oooggs :( Can't imagine what she is going through.
And you dippy :( Hope your friend is coping, and your FM's appointment is useful

Bramshott · 10/03/2011 12:15

Oh no Oooggs Sad.

Dippy - hope you are feeling less tender today.

CaptainDippy · 10/03/2011 12:18

A little less tender, thank you Smile

Well, after having DD2 off for 2 days at the beginning of the week with some weird high temp thing; I have just picked up DD1 who is not as hot, but rather pale and ickky. Sigh. The Joy of Parenthood, eh? Wink Just hope my lovely DD3 doesn't come down with it as she has a Party tomorrow and a Party sat and I know she would be so sad to miss them.

Latest news on my friend's sister is that recent brain function tests have revealed that only the top half of her brain is functioning, which (at the moment) means that she will be aware of everything, but unable to do anything. Trapped inside her own body Sad I have no more words for them, only prayers for a miracle. It is just so unspeakably awful Sad

My foster mum is going to the hospital for more tests and investigations etc today. So tiresome and frightening for her, but i hope it will have a positive outcome for her.

DippyLand is ok apart from all of that though - DD2 was fine when I popped in to get DD1; so that's positive Smile

oooggs · 11/03/2011 19:35

oh dear Dippy hope DD1 is better soon x

started to make a flat pack bedside table but it said to be made by a competent adult so I have stopped until dh gets back!!! Wink

ScarletBandit · 11/03/2011 19:39

Hi all.

Dippy, glad you are a little less sore now. Hope dd1 is better soon, you have had a terrible week.
So awful about your friend's sister too. I am not really the praying type, but am sending love and positive thoughts in your direction x

Oooggs, your poor friend, don't really know what to say it is just so awful. Why is life so hideously cruel sometimes? Sad
How are you just now? Hope you have felt a little brighter lately.

Haven't seen sol for a while. If you are lurking I hope you are ok xx

NL, so sorry to read your news too. Thinking of you xx

On a slightly more positive note my aunt is recovering well following her surgery and is up and about slowly. She has been told she doesn't need radiotherapy, just some oral chemotherapy which is great news.

I am going now as I have a very large glass of red waiting for me. Take care all xx

ScarletBandit · 11/03/2011 19:40

Hi Oooggs. It took me so long to type my post on my phone that you got here before me!

oooggs · 11/03/2011 19:44

my phone is like that!!!! feeling ok, had to cancel the phone assessment but doing it on wednesday instead

glad to hear some positive news about your aunt Smile

ScarletBandit · 11/03/2011 22:31

It is fab news isn't it, wonderful after so much stress.

Hope weds goes well.

I am still on my happy pills but due a review this month and hopefully halve my dose as I feel ok most of the time these days. Even the last few weeks I have coped fairly well in terms of not becoming particularly low, yet in the past it would have been more than enough to push me too far iykwim.

oooggs · 13/03/2011 07:44

my friends dad slipped away last night and she didn't make it back in time Sad

StealthPolarBear · 13/03/2011 07:46

Oh oooggs that is awful. So soon after her daughter :(

CaptainDippy · 13/03/2011 09:42

Lovely to "see" you SB Smile Thank you for your kind words - hoping next week will be better!! I've managed to persuade DD1 that she needs to take antibiotics prescribed (otherwise she will have to go into hospital and have them administered with a big needle in her arm ShockWink) So hoping that she will get better ASAP now. she woke up boiling hot again this am, but after Calpol, Neurofen and anti-b's has perked up ..... Sigh .....

Glad your Aunt's surgery went well SB and that radiotherapy isn't needed. Smile Prayers for a swift recovery now ..... Glad life is manageable for you at the moment, we all care about you here, so do pop by for a rant chat any time BrewWineWink

So sorry to hear about your friend's dad, oooggs Sad So sorry she didn't make it back in time. Prayers and love for her and the whole family.

Hope everyone enjoys what is left of their weekend .....

Smile
