enyahadenough · 10/11/2010 11:45

You sound in a good place star and being a sahm has it's advantages Grin

fjor you will be the queen of the office Smile

good news about your referal silks things hopefully will move quickly now.

Well I have a very inflamed throat and ear infection. Dd2 was a completely nightmare at the docs but so funny at the same time Hmm. h feeling really guilty that I am truly not well and is trying to get as much done at the office quicky so he can help out... Times are definitely changing hurrah!!!

HippyHippopotamus · 10/11/2010 14:33

oh enya, sorry to hear you're officially not well but wow! i'm so pleased about your h!! who'd have thought it?!

and silk yours is good and bad news rolled into one too. really pleased you've got the referral but obv not so pleased that you need it

Silkstalkings · 10/11/2010 15:47

S'all right Hippy, the only downside is what we're already living with - in the words of Yazz, only way is up. (Notice I refused to dignify D:Ream.)

Had lovely lunch with K in Ikea and went a bit nuts shopping, but some of it was Xmas pressies so that's all right (because of that big Xmas budget I've been squirrelling away all year - NOTGrin.)

CrispyTheCrisp · 10/11/2010 18:00

Just popping on from Mum's. So sorry to read of your crappy appointment Bibi and you must be doubly fecked off that they have fobbed you off for so long Angry. Please, please do ring and ask for another appointment to clarify what they think the problem is, what the prognosis is (you and your darling girls) and what treatment options/timescales there are available. We can all help you out writing a list of pertinent Q's i'm sure. Big {{{{hugs}}}. Life sucks sometimes Sad and you have had MORE than your fair share.

Silk Yay for a helpful HV and hope you find someone you like and trust to help him along

Hipp Great news re your new role as project manager. As far as I know project managers are always well respected and well paid, so i think you are on to a winner Grin

Swimming today, the drove to M&D's, London working tomorrow, out with 'home' friends tomorrow night, off to brighton on friday to meet up with French friends and sniff their 5 week old baby and then Friday night at an old housemates house before heading home Sat morning. Logisitics planning of the highest order required there - nothing can go wrong Hmm

enya gosh, i see H could even turn back into 'D'H at this rate Shock. Good on you girl for standing your ground in your relationship Smile

TwilightSurfer · 10/11/2010 19:24

hi

must do school run in a few but wanted to say "hooray" to hippy for the epiphany. that's exactly how i am with my dh. i manage way too much for him to keep up in a conversation so i email loads. that also gives me a piece of proof if he questions something. i can just say, 'didn't you get the memo?' works like a charm. which reminds me i need to email him a calendar date note.Hmm

about queenie... i researched her about two weeks ago and from what i can tell she's without a computer. both her fb and mn communications all ended on the same date. did anyone have her phone number to check on her?

af arrived this morning and i am so thankful. this means i will be feeling normal in about 5 days. pms this last week has been terrible.

dd2 has kindly stunk up the place now with a massive diaper. i fear looking. if it smells this bad you know it has to look worse.

HippyHippopotamus · 10/11/2010 20:03

lol re R's nappy! i've been pleasantly surprised by some of T's stinkers!

ts you've said exactly what i've been trying to say... i manage way too much for him to keep up in a conversation So true! chatting to my mum is perfect example because she's the same. we'll start talking about X, she'll mention Y and then move onto Z whilst asking me a question about X. dh just can't work on the same level as us!

i think i've got her mob still... i'll send her a text now

DD still poorly, DS definitely getting better and i'm getting there slowly

HippyHippopotamus · 10/11/2010 20:04

crisp, feel free to pop in if you're passing near me

HippyHippopotamus · 10/11/2010 20:59

hmm, quiet on here tonight...anyone lurking?

blueberryboybait · 10/11/2010 21:22

blueberryboybait · 10/11/2010 21:26

Bibi - crap about your hip - hope you have managed to speak to someone and clafirgy the way forward

Silk - great news re: K - good to know your HV listens nad knows you know your boy best.

TS - it is post's like your poop on that make the thankful for potty training!

Crispy - if you find yourself standing still at any point - do you fancy a walk in the woods one day?

Hippy - I mail DH regularly and write a list in BIG letters every morning of things I need to do(including showering/going out for a walk/supermarket etc.) - then cross them our with red pen - he sees things done and I have fun crossing them out.

OP posts:
HippyHippopotamus · 10/11/2010 21:34

oooh, i like the idea of your list bbbbbbbbbb

arse, dd has fallen asleep but she needs a new nappy before bed...bums! i was enjoying having a cuddle with her and didn't notice!

HippyHippopotamus · 10/11/2010 21:42

hip glad you are feeling positive, email is fantastic and you can get your point across nicely i have found without being whingy/moaning/nagging iykwim!!

horrible wind and rain here this am, hoping dd2 fancies a day inside, tho fearing after yesterday hyper mayhem i will be lucky Grin

HippyHippopotamus · 11/11/2010 08:31

good morning enya. does dd2 still have a nap? if she does i am ordering you to join her today Smile
we're all getting cabin fever here so despite weather and running noses/coughs, i feel a trip outside is called for

P can sleep!!!!! i didn't manage to settle her til 1am but she then slept until 6 GrinGrinGrinGrin (sorry enya!)

dh is a twit! he's on a course today and then going straight from there to airport (back early hours monday). a few mins after he'd left to walk to station i noticed he'd left the folder behind with his course notes in it, so i rang him. Guess where his phone was!!! cue me running round like a crazy thing getting clothes for me, blankets for dc so i could drive to station quickly!!! fortunately he realised he didn't have it and came back before i rushed out. i've only just calmed down!

enyahadenough · 11/11/2010 08:48

thats fab news on p sleeping hip.. dd2 nap??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? U R KIDDING!!!! she lost that 6 months ago!!!

UrsulaUndress · 11/11/2010 10:12

Ooh I was lost, here you are.

Have only skimmed but I gather you have worked things out via email hipster, good to hear.

Bibi I am so sorry to hear about your bad hospital visit and I hope the docs will be able to allay any fears you have for the girls. Hope you are feeling a bit better today. It's such a cliche but there's truth in all of them, your health is your wealth.

Merlion · 11/11/2010 10:38

You see Hippy who's Mr organised super tidy now Wink

Enya have fun with the Christmas list!

DH birthday tomorrow so DS and I have been making a card this afternoon.

I got a call from DS's teacher at nursery yesterday telling me he'd been a bit upset because the rabbit had been out in the garden and some monkeys had come to have a look at it. DS was scared of the monkeys and had to have lots of cuddles and songs apparently. I never would have thought if you'd told me 10 even 5 years ago that I'd be receiving a call from my son's teacher because he was scared of some wild monkeys. Just goes to show how things can change in your life.

I do believe I'm starting to feel a bit better too.

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 11/11/2010 11:21

I like that Merlion :) Glad you're feeling a bit better too.

Silk re. moving down south, I suppose me not working would make it easier in many ways as it's one less tie to cut. We have yet again put plans on hold for the time being though, since next year is widely predicted to be the real shitter of the recession. DH's job is pretty safe and things are going better there atm, so he's happy to stick around for a while and save some money while we're living in a cheapish area. It makes sense, although I do still hanker for the south and I know he does too...maybe we're both just change addicts Grin

My best friend is moving to Belgium at the end of this month :) and :( It's great for her as her life has been stagnating a bit where she is, so a new challenge/adventure and some perspective will be a good thing. But I'll miss her being down the country from me, even though rationally Belgium isn't exactly far away.

DS very upset at nursery drop-off this morning, I had to peel him off me :( It's like he knows something is going on. I am almost resolved to jack it in and be a SAHM, but doing the sensible thing and going for a chat with HR later today to talk things over.

TwilightSurfer · 11/11/2010 13:52

Star, DD2 was wailing when I left her yesterday. I think they have waves of confidence mixed with the scared-sillies. Don't worry about it. Even if you stayed at home you'd still want to have a moment to yourself with him at school.

Busy days caught up with me last night. I was asleep by 8PM and didn't wake till 5:33AM this morning. I didn't even hear the alarm. I'm not entirely rested but much better than yesterday. I do have a lot going on I suppose.Hmm AF here doesn't help. Is it just me or does AF's arrival make you super tired? I feel like I should sleep for two days. UGH!

Shopping Help! I will need to buy a tiara for DD1 (and maybe DD2) for Christmas. Can everyone link me to ones they like so I can window shop and maybe purchase the gift?Grin Think PRINCESS!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 11/11/2010 14:09

TS how about this? Grin

You're quite right about the waves of confidence thing, I know. Also definitelyprobably right about needing a moment to myself Grin

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 11/11/2010 14:10

Oh dammit, why are girl clothes so cute?

TwilightSurfer · 11/11/2010 15:14

WOW! Star, I haven't run across those yet!!! Thank you. And yes, I love shopping for girl clothes!!!!! :)

Salta, ETSY is AWESOME!

Ladies, it's official. I AM A DAISY TROOP LEADER! Grin Confused
