Morning, hope you all find me!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Silkstalkings · 23/11/2010 16:35

Hippo MN just lost my last post, probably a good job as I was probably faily harsh on your DH!Grin Something to do with emotional punchbags and lacking personal skills.

Big hugs to everyone going through the shitmill right now.

Silkstalkings · 23/11/2010 16:36

Queeny Have you tried Phenergan? GPs will prescribe it for children with sleep probs but you can buy it over the counter too(just don't say it's for a child or sleep issue.)

salta · 23/11/2010 21:11

Queen - hysterical shrieking here in the middle of the night gets tv, milk, dummy, cuddle on the sofa. If that all fails then it usually gets a visit to the equivalent of the GP out of hours as I figure if all the above things don't work it might actually be something. Last time it was earache.

BBBBBBBBBBB - teeth?

blueberryboybait · 23/11/2010 21:14

Yes Salta teeth she has one but number 2 is sitting very close under the gum - less than 2 weeks between teeth along with a snotty nose and rocking cough makes for a very very unhappy girl!

Although I have discovered the talk back facility on our monitor is great - I sit mn-ing shushing and she stops crying for a bit.

salta · 23/11/2010 21:15

PS Queen two is tough but lovely, and you work out ways to cope.

PPS Hippy congrats on the sleep. DD still BF 2/3 per night. but is lovely so I forgive her.

PPPS potty training OK - still working on the reliably asking to go thing but no accidents so far today although I did still put him on the potty a few times

BibiBelle · 23/11/2010 21:15

christening cakes went down a storm thank feck

salta · 23/11/2010 21:17

BBBBB yes, I have just been feeding DD while MNing.

Enjoying a rare quiet evening before my MIL arrives with DS

salta · 23/11/2010 21:18

ooooh congrats! Were they the gorgeous ones that you had photos of yesterday?

salta · 23/11/2010 21:19

salta salta salta kanguru

(Jump, jump, jump kangaroo)

Not sure that the spelling of kangaroo is correct

salta · 23/11/2010 21:21

We have bunk beds too. DS is on the bottom one, we have taken the ladder off and he has never attempted to climb onto the top which I find mildly interesting and long may it last.

Oh and yes, he has been in a big bed for a while, he used to wake up and cry, but now he can come and find us.

DD is still in with us. they are not going to share until they both reliably sleep through, so DD will be in with us for a while longer then ...

salta · 23/11/2010 21:23

anyone at home, the peace will be shattered by DS's return in about t-2 minutes, so if you want some high quality conversation you need to speak up now

salta · 23/11/2010 21:25

no? oh dear, I love you all very much anyway, and lots of thoughts for all as well.

And ... I have had such a fab idea for my secret santa.

PPS has anyone read the big sneeze? I love it. DS quite likes it, but I definitely like reading it to him.

PPPS. With Mog, can you guess which bit he reacts to most?

No?

It's when mog taps on the kitchen window and makes Debbie's mum drop the peas? He says "oh dear peas" whenever he sees the picture. He also says "oh dear teapot" when the burglar drops the teapot at the end

blueberryboybait · 23/11/2010 21:27

I am off to bed now - Salta enjoy your last peaceful moments.

DD1 has also discovered she can get out of bed in the middle of the night but her door is closed (to stop the cat sleeping on her) so I hear a 'mummy, yoohoo mummy' then the pitter patter of little feet and the squeaking of the door handle.

OP posts:
aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 23/11/2010 21:30

I'm here, although possibly heading to bed soon. So quality conversation is likely to be wasted on me Grin

DS is asleep in our bed again. He didn't even wait for me to get down the corridor before thumping down after me and making the puppy dog eyes. It's okay, DH will lift him through like he did last night and hopefully peace will reign throughout the house. And DS looks so cuuuuuuuute, all snuggled up in our bed Blush

salta · 23/11/2010 21:44

DS did very well for my ILs now watching Thomas on my knee and eating crackers

salta · 23/11/2010 21:44

PS thank you for the conversation!

PertyPru · 23/11/2010 21:45

Salta that's a good run you had there Grin. Loving DS's "oh dear"s!

Bibi And I'm not at all surprised the cakes were a big hit, how could they not be Smile

Queeny thanks for the congrats Smile. Hope you get to the bottom of DS's night-wakings, but please don't let your mum get to you - like you say that is the last thing you need to hear right now so just let it go in one ear and out the other, turn to those you can rely on for support instead.

Merlion so glad the scan went well. Are you looking forward to telling people now?

Hippy I don't know what to say. Angry for you, mostly. What were you doing at the weekend if not supporting him, hmm? and Hmm

DD today: "say bon-hor (bonjour) to [MiL]. But NOT in Fwench! Say bon-hor in English!"

BibiBelle · 23/11/2010 22:01

I love a good bon-hor! DD1 used to speak a touch of Spainish (mainly thanks to Dora!!) but we encouraged it. DD2 and D not so much thanks for fecking Peppa!

Salta - I'm sorry I missed it but it was a lovely conversation!

I've had a great idea for secret santa too but unfortunately not my recipient Grin

night Star - hoping you waken up pain free in the morning Smile

DH broken again tonight lol

CrispyTheCrisp · 23/11/2010 22:20

Bloody hell, its cold here Hmm. Fingers can hardly type. Brrrrrrrr. Hot water bottle here i think tonight.

I have just finished work after setting off for a 4 hour round trip at 6.45 this morning , dashed back for school pickup, dumped DD1 in front of the TV with a jacket spud with cheese & beans Blush and then back to it until now. I feel like i have spent a day in the life of bibi. Tis exhausting Grin. {{{{hugs}}}}} for you my dear and to the redundancy.
Can you just refuse or will it be a case of voluntaries first? At least you have a large expanding empire another source of work to fall back on.

hippy Sad and Angry that MrHippo is wallowing in his pit of mud. Seriously, after all you did this weekend to see his family and get everything sorted out with a small baby and a toddler, quite frankly he should be bowing down to your amazingness. I really hope you can get him to actually listen to what you are saying or emailing

Hurrah for the scan merlion although pants you have to go back. I hope you get some sickness relief now Smile

queen i would agree on ear infection if they are in real inconsolable pain. Antibiotics can clear it up in 48hrs, so i would pop to the GP. Ignore your mum and tell her why you are ignoring her if she asks - you need love and support, not criticsm.

Well done on the potty training Salta. I am being very very half arsed about it - at home she has no nappy (bare bum) and she is fine, will always use the potty. However i have not braved going out without a nappy so i am probably confusing her like mad Hmm

TS hope DD2's finger is ok - do you have 'spray on skin' stuff? I used it on a VERY nasty burn of mine, and although it did sting to buggery a bit, it did an amazing job of helping it keep clean and heal. BTW, do you have a name as Daisy Troup leader? We used to have Brown Owls who were our Brownie leaders

Sorry to anyone i have missed. Am pooped Confused

BibiBelle · 23/11/2010 22:40

Crisp - voluntary at the moment. Have started making enquiried about reduced hours.

Off to bed with you love - am currently battling a spreadsheet for the shop whilst waiting on brownies to cool then I'm off too

BibiBelle · 23/11/2010 22:54

ooooooooooooh paper cut Sad

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 24/11/2010 07:56

Ooh Bibi nasty :( I hate that feeling that even inanimate objects can conspire against one. Cardboard cuts are the worst, eeuurrgghh.

Queenie lovely to see you. I think you should speak to your mum again...to ask her for a copy of Toxic Parents for Christmas Grin

Speaking of which, I got a bit of an early Christmas present this morning.

Shock Grin

FjorgynAndHotWater · 24/11/2010 07:58

BFP???????????????

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 24/11/2010 07:59

Yep!

After two mornings in a row of dreaming about taking positive pregnancy tests, not to mention a week's worth of really strong smells that no one else could notice, I thought I probably should.

Blush Grin

blueberryboybait · 24/11/2010 08:00

YAY Star - congratulations :) :) :) :) :) An August 2011 baby :) :) I am thrilled for you!
