Morning all

We had a lovely day yesterday - DD1 came home exhausted but still talking endlessly about all the pretty shop windows. She loved the HArrods Peter PAn windows as they had fairies in them. Her sucker Papa spoilt her and bought her a couple of teddies in Harrods then bought her lunch there too I was a Shock at the food prices in there, if she wasn't already sitting colouring her menu drinking a drink when I came back from changing DD2 we would have left! £18 for a burger for DH and £11 for pasta for her. I drew the line at the £9 milkshake. We did let DD2 at the pasta though so may now be on their list of people not to let in ever gain!

Shiney - what crappola news about DH especially as someone else is lying to purposely get him into trouble.

Merlion - how is the sickness? What time is your scan tomorrow?

Crispy - when are you about? I have realised DD might need her uniform sooner than planned as she is having school lunches! I also have something for you. :)

TS - I hope DD2 is better soon, my DD2 still coughing and the doc seems to thing her ears may hurt because of a sore throat, I resorted to baby neurofen late last night and she slept much better only waking twice.

Silky - tell him it is karma work - it will come back to you.

Enya - am pleased you and DH are back on track and you had a great weekend despite the ears.

BBBB your day sounds lovely, if a little expensive Shock I have to say, if anyone bought either of my two more teddies, even from Harrods, I think I would throw them away cry... I did sort out the downstairs toys on Saturday night (oh the glamour), and threw a bag full of crap away. They were both amazed and delighted on Sunday morning to find stuff that had been hidden at the bottom of the pile and forgotten about.

Not long to go till your scan now is it merlion! Ooh it's very exciting! Hope your sickness is easing now.

salta I am v impressed at your potty training dedication. Am firmly in the leave it till next year camp. DS showing no sign of being aware of what he's doing, although he is becoming quite fond of his willy Grin

crispy you are a whirling dervish Shock. So where are we gonna sleep next time we come over to yours?

Silky I hope they give you some free pants Grin

cece that is shite re your DH Angry Is there anything he can do? How long is he likely to be off?

I am at work today Sad, 2-day weekends are the pits. Still, not back again until Thursday so that's good. DD's presents are all wrapped (channelling Crispy), just got to make school buns and cake no1, then start hyperventilating getting ready for Saturday's party...

Hope you all have a lovely day Smile

CaptainCaveman · 22/11/2010 09:26

Nice lie in this morning til 7.50 which meant we just about made it into school with ds1 before the bell rang Grin.

crispy please come and sort my house of shit out...oh wait, you can do that if you're coming to mine on 13th? Wink

fjorgyn you have your presents wrapped? Shock. Good Lord, when will I ever get chance to do that?

Am studying today (hence, on mn) and dh is off to the docs as he is, unsurprisingly, very anxious. Salta thanks for the tip off about employment boards on here, I would not have thought about that! We had a good chat last night about what dh would like to do, and as he is a part qualified accountant, he is thinking he might like to go and finish that off. We have some savings, and he's hoping for a pay off from work - whatever happens he won't go back there as he feels they have made his position untenable Sad and [happy].

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 22/11/2010 09:30

pain

so much pain

back is worse today than yesterday, what a fucking swizz!

I need one of those grabby hand things old people use to put their socks on. In fact one of the main reasons I hate my back problem flaring up is that it makes me think ceaselessly of my brother and how much pain he must have been in. He had one of those grabby hand things too. How I would love to have a laugh with him about it again.

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 22/11/2010 09:31
blueberryboybait · 22/11/2010 09:34

Oh Star Sad do you anyone who can help with DS when you need it?

OP posts:
Merlion · 22/11/2010 10:17

Oh Star do hope the pain eases a bit soon.

Cavey sorry it has come to that for DH but yay for plan B. I'm sure all will work out for the best.

Scan is at 2pm tomorrow. Have been feeling really sick again today so hoping it will start to ease soon.

TwilightSurfer · 22/11/2010 10:51

Star do you have a chiropractor?

Crisp, can my house be next on your list?Hmm

So seriously what am I to do about DD2? She's not producing the snot like before and the cough sounds different, maybe less congested. After a soak in a sea salt bath and some tylenol her tears and pulling at her ear stopped. She cried for 2 hours or more STRAIGHT. I was extremely concerned. She slept with us last night as did DD1. We need a bigger bed! I am shattered but can't rest today. I lead my Daisy troop for the first time at 6:30PM and I'm still piecing the meeting together.

Match sticks and Caffeine Please

enyahadenough · 22/11/2010 11:08

Merlion lots of fingers and toes crossed for you

remind me never ever to go away again. The dds are being complete nightmares particularly dd1 tantrums tears and snot... Completely exhausted and only 11am! Have to go to the docs but fear will have to wait til tom dd1 won't let me out of her sight [sigh]

salta · 22/11/2010 11:42

oh well, less successful this morning, jumped into bed with us at 5 and by the time we gave up the night for a bad job at 5.15 he had done a wee in his nappy. He did another one on his potty though, and has since said "potty" twice and gone, although with lots of "do you need to use the potty" from us.

so still OK I think

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 22/11/2010 11:57

Good luck with your scan today Merlion :)

Merlion · 22/11/2010 12:24

That'll be tomorrow Star - it's only 8.24pm here!

HippyHippopotamus · 22/11/2010 12:59

well done on the potty training salta. i'm in the 'wait til next year' camp though Smile DS tells us when he's done a poo but he sometimes lies and only tells us after Hmm

shiney no wise words for you and your dh but really hope that he gets vindicated (is that the right word?!)

silks travelling on the tube with two is fine Grin I have to admit i was a bit wary the first time but have done it loads since and its fine!

crisp really pleased L's party went well

PERTY!!!! congratulations!!!! GrinGrin

star you poor thing. have you got anyone who can come round to help you today?

enya glad you had a good weekend and that our suspicions re your h's plans were unfounded! Smile

fjornhghghasfh no idea what i was going to say to you! hello though!

BBBBBB your weekend sounds lovely but can't believe you actually ate in harrods!!!! crazy people

crisp roof tents? noooo, i'm sure i mentioned nothing of the sort to your dh!

ts poor R, sounds like she might need another trip to docs. you're doing loads to try and help her but as its not working, anti-bios might be the way forward

merlion how exciting re your scan tomorrow. i'm sure we'll all be thinking of you

erm mind gone blank

our weekend was lovely. i felt like fecking supermum on friday!
it was so lovely seeing crisp and bbb and their mini versions! crisp is right about the mud and ds! i whipped his trousers off and bundled him in the car under a blanket. this was a cunning plan and worked well til i was 30miles from hotel, stuck in traffic and he had a meltdown because he suddenly realised he had no trousers on! he woke dd up and she was crying too so the last few miles weren't much fun but not much i could do whilst sitting on the m4! and yes albs, fog at start of journey wasn't much fun but the other drivers were being sensible so wasn't too bad.

anyhow, I got us all safely to wales. unloaded car on my own with both of them, settled into hotel. then went out for dinner to restaurant. DS behaved wonderfully and ate loads, DD was on boob for most of it and my food was gorgeous and hot!!! DH turned up at 10.30 full of energy so i gave him a room key, sent him out to the pub and told him not to wake us when he got back!
all our visits went really well. mil's mil's neice was at hers on sunday so i had a lovely chat with her and ignored mil for most of the time Grin Journey home was long and i was v pleased dh drove back. i'm full of a cold still. dd and ds both seem worse so wondering if we need to go to docs too

DD chose this weekend to start sleeping through the night!!!!! this would normally be a good thing but i was in so much pain with my boobs, I was worried i had blocked ducts. if i'd been at home i could have got my pump out but in the end i had to wake her to try and get her to help relieve me.

dh was v impressed with how weekend went! everything from our visits, my packing skills, getting it all in the car etc etc.

ds had been an absolute charmer and dd has been smiling on demand. dh's family fully appreciated it all!

quite sadly i don't think it'll be long before we have to go back because dh's grandma really not well Sad She's such a lovely lady

absolutely shattered today (poor dd had her bcg jab this morning) so i'm off to try and have a snooze on the sofa whilst ds plays with eductional toys and watches cbeebies Smile

ps sorry if i've missed mentioning anyone above

HippyHippopotamus · 22/11/2010 12:59

oops Blush sorry about the essay...again!

BibiBelle · 22/11/2010 15:18

I'm so fucking tired I feel sick - sorry to moan. Was sitting trying to snooze but DD2 climbing on me for kisses/cuddles etc which is lovely expect I want to sleep Sad

OP posts:
enyahadenough · 22/11/2010 16:09

BibiBelle · 22/11/2010 16:23

that's him home so hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go Sad

CaptainCaveman · 22/11/2010 16:36

aw BB its shit when you feel that tired. I nearly fell asleep at work twice last week in meetings Blush, in fact one of them was when I was interviewing someone Blush Blush

hippo you are superwoman! Glad your weekend went so well, in no small part to your organisational skills Grin

TS poor R, hope she's better very soon. are you taking her to the docs?

Just to dump some more much needed shit on our plate right now the heating has stopped working today. It's fecking freezing. We have a portable heater which is currently blowing away at my side. Luckily our neighbour a few doors down is a plumber so he's merrily tinkering away trying to fix it for when the boys get home (about 1 hr til we go and get them from after school club and nursery). Sheesh.

Merlion wishing you well for tomorrow Smile How exciting!!

Star I'm saying prayers for your back. Have you spoken to your gp? You should have a local back pathway in operation which means you get direction access to physio. Forgive me if you've already been down this road, or if its not applicable to you! I also wish your db was around so you could laugh about it together - you describe him as a thoroughly lovely chap Smile

HippyHippopotamus · 22/11/2010 16:56

star would a back support help? i can have a search for mine and post it if you think it would be of use

shiney why thank you Smile (i'm v pleased you can't see the pile of bags that are dumped in our hall at the moment!!)
that's shit news re your heating, really hope neighbour manages to sort it for you

bbbb wake up time i'm afraid... both girls have been good but i can't feed them from here!

enya do you just ignore? i'm trying distractions with T but most successful is if i join him...he finds it hilarious...eventually!

enyahadenough · 22/11/2010 17:02

hip i ignore, i blow up, i join in everything but nothing works.. Angry.. feel more stressed than before i went away grrr...

so having so much needed time out on mn whilst dh tries to teaches dd1 to read Grin

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 22/11/2010 17:51

CC thanks for the prayers and hippy thanks for the kind offer of your back support, but I'm not sure it would help. The problem was caused by me falling down some stairs a while ago and landing heavily on my arse; all the muscles around my coccyx went into spasm, so when it recurs that's what happens. When I saw the doc after original accident she basically said there's nothing medical they can do apart from give me strong painkillers. Not sure whether to ask again as the problem is in the muscles - once they lock I am stuck in a stupid undignified position.

I had osteopathy initially which really helped, but haven't done anything about it since because the recurrences always happen at random times. Plus now I'm skint, although spending money on health is obviously always worthwhile.

DH came home this afternoon so I've done nothing but lie on the sofa :)

blueberryboybait · 22/11/2010 17:58

Star - are you applying ice to it? When I dislocaed my coccyx having DD1 I ended up with ghorrid muscle spams in my lower back - the chiro said to ice for 10mins max (or it can cause damage) lying down is better than sitting because there is no direct pressure on your lower back. Walking is also good in 15-20 min stretches but standing is bad. Lastly lying on the sofa is bad on the floor is good.

No nap here as the ILs arrived to hype up DD then git upset because I sent DD1 to the step for snatching from DD2. Both girls fed pizza and fruit and lying with DH whilst I mn make dinner.
