Morning, hope you all find me!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Silkstalkings · 19/11/2010 16:46

Somebody say kalhua? Poss my favourite booze ever. We like to dip in to a bottle of that over Christmas, served with ice cold milk, Big Lebowski style.

Hurrah, I now have BT everything, inc a new phone number and email. Have been pretty tense and miserable all week about the big pile of little jobs that is mounting up just to get back to normal working life: inc back up laptop, reinstall laptop software, buy new printer, pay car tax, get various car parts replaced, actually order growing Amazon Xmas shopping basket before Xmas, get kids' passport forms actually done, usual guilt-inducing juggling act between getting stuff done and actively playing with K. Hopefully today's BT achievements will offset some of that stress.

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/11/2010 17:17

Silks - i may have a spare printer here, once DH convinces me the new one works which it soesn't with my laptop. The old one works fine with a lead but was not working wirelessly very well hence DH had to buy a new one Hmm. It is an HP2400 and does colour printing/photos etc. I could easily get it as far as the new forest for you (for the weekend of 27/28th) if that helps?

UrsulaUndress · 19/11/2010 17:46

Oh complete Envy about the meet, sounds really lovely. You are so right about the time flying, Crisp. Don't need photos as can picture the scene perfectly!

Safe onward journey to the hipsters. If it's anything like here - filthy weather, lashing rain, foggy - I don't envy you the drive.

Well I had ds2 in town earlier and the place is crawling with not only IMF types but with news crews, four stations camped with OB vans outside Government Buildings & I heard one guy saying to a reporter about to do an OB "Mmmm should you really say that, it is stretching the truth a bit." Ah, the sweet sound of the moral media.

Right, we are about to have ds1 do the ceremonial KK withdrawing from hat so you'll all get your recipients later on.

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/11/2010 17:56

OMG the Aug 2010 mn threadsters are still on the same one since their babies were born Shock. What have they been doing? Grin

ursula a good friend of mine is a tv producer and has opened my eyes a lot Hmm

LOL @ kk i keep thinking we are members of a rather immoral clan Confused

We have had it dry most of the day and even managed a short wander up the lane for some fresh air

TwilightSurfer · 19/11/2010 18:02

I keep thinking Krispy Kreme.Grin

UrsulaUndress · 19/11/2010 19:10

Sorry I've completely mangled Christkindl apparently http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christkind I only came across it for the first time a few years ago so I am not au fait with origins etc, apols for making people's eyes bleed with KK.

So - I have sent emails via FB to everyone, you should all have a recipient which by ds1's my calculations means everyone has been matched to a giver. If anyone hasn't had a mail please let me know now and it will save a scramble for a box of After Eights and scraps of wrapping during Christmas week.

Enjoy shopping / making!

FjorgynAndHotWater · 19/11/2010 19:15

I have still never had a Krispy Kreme Sad

What are those Aug 10 weirdos up to? We You'd filled about 4 or 5 threads by the end of November 08 Shock

Glad you had a good meetup crispy Smile

albs the fog never lifted from here at all today, was actually glad to be on the train and not in the car.

Just won a beauty red cord Boden coat on ebay, hurrah, just hope MIL coughs up her usual Christmas present cash to pay for it Blush

FjorgynAndHotWater · 19/11/2010 19:30

Got mine thanks nudeylady Smile and don't worry I think it is pretty often called Kris Kringle over here as well as in America.

Time to get DC ready for bed then half an hour on my exercise bike to get me in credit for the wine later, although thanks to DD's early morning getting-out-of-bed shenanigans I will prob be snoring on the sofa by 10.30...

blueberryboybait · 19/11/2010 19:34

We had a fantastic afternoon with the Crispys and Hippys microCrisp was spoting the most fetching bruises and maxiCrisp was being fantastic about having a trailing 2 year old who thinks she is the best thing since sliced bread! MasterHippo, never stops moving I am not surprised Hippy is constantly exhausted, a charming and very handsome boy. Hippychick has obviously been at the double cream as she is has grown so much since I saw her last month. The Crispys were most welcoming and MrCrispy was amazingly cheery for a man who's house was being invaded by children and strangers. (My DH would have run for the hills) Hippy is as usual fantastic.

Ursula - am eagerly awaiting your DS1's KK choices.

will catch up in a bit - need to order dinner.

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 19/11/2010 19:56

LOL BBBB he was too busy trying to force feed you Paradise smoked salmon and show you his Patsy kitchen! And a to MsHippy for encouraging DH's roof tent ideas BiscuitGrin

blueberryboybait · 19/11/2010 20:00

His salmon was very very delicious - I tried to sneak some in to DD1's pocket but she was having none of it Grin On the roof tent front I advised him to wait until he got a long wheelbase Patsy before he got one.

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 19/11/2010 20:02

Oh FFS, now you are encouraging him to buy another Landy. You Missus, are even worse than Hippy!

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/11/2010 20:03

Oh, we have your T-shirt and bear here BBBB

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/11/2010 20:03

Well, DD1's that is, otherwise you would have been topless LOL

blueberryboybait · 19/11/2010 20:08

Oh Lordy - I knew I had forgotten something - I lied about the bear at bedtime and said he was in the car Shock - Do you have a yellow billy too?

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 19/11/2010 20:09

Not that i have seen, no. I will keep an eye out and look in the dressing up bag as a lot of stuff was just shoved back in there Blush

So now we need to meet up again to exchange Grin

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 19/11/2010 20:40

Ah it sounds so lovely, I am even more Envy now :) Crisp you're so right about the time flying by, it has done at every meet I've attended. Clearly the answer is for us all to actually hire that summer villa for a weekend!

Silk if it makes you feel any better, my parenting this afternoon consisted of sticking a Night Garden DVD on and having a cheeky snooze on the sofa Blush

FjorgynAndHotWater · 19/11/2010 21:02

Are you feeling a bit better after your snooze star? I am a great believer of telly enabling a quick nap for the mummy, usually when my DC get up faaaar too early on a Saturday morning...

No biking due to DS refusing to roll over and go to sleep until gone half 8 so instead am cooking burgers and chips and will be snuggling down for season 3 finale of Buffy in a minute Grin Oooh that Faith is a bad girl and could turn me Shock

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 19/11/2010 21:18

lol, it was you who gave me the idea actually Grin I am feeling a bit more refreshed, and cocodamol is helping with the back pain.

Next time we get together I will gladly join in the Buffy love Grin and I will fight you for Faith, she's amayyyyyyyyyzing [swoon]

TwilightSurfer · 19/11/2010 21:40

Ah Ha! I have just realized the Buffy you are watching. Is it a remake or the 10+ year old series? I watched it "back in the day". Faith is a huge backstabbing B.

Kids have been fed horrible fast food from Burger King. Dinner just wasn't working for me. My dad is coming over at dark to show the girls some funny video and give them snacks to eat under a black light. It ties in to the video. Should be entertaining.

DD2 still coughing a horrible cough. My dad's sister (80+) stopped by unexpectedly earlier and questioned why I was letting her run around in bare feet. She had that "no wonder the child is sick" look on her face. The CHILD had on long pants, a turtle neck, and a cardigan (buttoned up) and was running around in a house with the A/C set on 70*.Hmm Goodness knows that's WHY my kid is sick. Seriously!HmmHmm Good thing my aunt wasn't an hour sooner...she'd have seen my loafing on the sofa watching the only show I've been able to watch in two weeks with crumbs all over the floor from little misses morning fun.

Ponder the gift thing. Clueless even for my secret santa. I need inspiration. Off to play shop online. It's so much fun filling my basket. DH saw one of my play shopping baskets this weekend and about died. I had to explain it was all just window shopping.Wink

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/11/2010 21:52

'Dinner just wasn't working for me' Brilliant Grin

Silkstalkings · 19/11/2010 22:54

LOL DH & I have a bit of a 'couple crush' on Faith, we loved her in Dollhouse too.

Did I mention DH's band are supporting Nikki Grahame from Big Brother on Tuesday? Have just been stalking her online, what a train wreck poor lass, anorexic throughout adolescence, suicide attempts at 12Sad, then a bit of acting, glamour modelling and escort work before BB. Just hope my townsfolk are not too unkind.

Does anyone else hate Fearne Cotton btw?

FjorgynAndHotWater · 20/11/2010 07:55

TS it is the old telly version we are watching, it's fab Smile I hope you are getting a better night's sleep than yesterday and R is feeling better Smile

silky yes re Fearne. I had forgotten you'd said your DH was supporting Nikki, how bizarre! I hope it goes OK for all of them...

Crispy hope you have a fab time today, and Happy Birthday Midi Crisp girl Smile

Am feeling fed up re DH today, although he is v good at sharing lie-ins he never shares the hour before of getting out of bed to make them go back in their room / break up fights / kiss poorlies, unless I ask but why should I he never asks me Angry Anyway I'm probably just grumpy due to late to bed & early to rise so thanks star for reminding me, am off to have a nap on the beanbag while the DC watch Shark Tale.

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 20/11/2010 08:46

TS I want to live in your house Grin

Had a better night's sleep last night, thankfully, but my back is borked. Cocodamol have allowed me to almost stand up straight Hmm DS is being v good though, currently playing with his jigsaws. I just hope he doesn't need picking up at any point.

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 20/11/2010 09:06
