Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ShineyHappyHair · 30/10/2010 10:36

Must admit we have nearly finished the boys Christmas shopping Blush

I'm liking the sound of your pumpkins. Ds1 did one on Monday and its HUGE!

merlion really hoping your ms isn't too bad (hugs)

Who got Take That tickets? Coz I didn't Sad

UrsulaUndressUp · 30/10/2010 10:36

Hipster I am being marvellously amusing HmmWinkGrin you accidentally wrote your post twice within the post - not a cross post iyswim.

HippyHippopotamus · 30/10/2010 10:37

morning enya. have you got rid of all the sickness/poorly bugs that you had at yours?

HippyHippopotamus · 30/10/2010 10:40

you're way too slow ursula, just worked it out for myself!

in my defence, i didn't actually type the same thing twice (i'm not that daft) I typed it in text ediotor and pasted it here twice

UrsulaUndressUp · 30/10/2010 10:58

Our pumpkin's done now, rather rapido in about 3 mins as ds2 kept trying to help with sharp knife, so a quick pair of eyes and snaggle-toothed grin and that's it, flesh barely scraped out of inside, one large handful of seeds and straggly orange guts in bin, amuse bouche will have to wait for another year Grin.

Good work Shiny, I'll pretend I didn't hear. Have done no Christmas prep and don't plan to do any till Dec 1!

Hi Enya, hope you're all better now.

HippyHippopotamus · 30/10/2010 11:47

If i were to say "The Pogues are touring this Christmas"... what would you lot say?

ScreamingTerror · 30/10/2010 12:08

I seriously hope those weren't my initials in the same sentence with needing a pumpkin recipe. Hmm LOL!

Ursula I always envision Mexico's Day of the Day when I think of Halloween's origin. Well that's at least what I've shared with DD1 when she asked about it. It's a celebration of folks that have pasted. Makes me wonder why it's not more well received really.Hmm Right now, here locally, the controversy is trick-r-treating to be Saturday night or Sunday night. My girls will walk Sunday no matter what any of the politically leaders say. We don't move Christmas or Valentine's WHY SHOULD WE MOVE HALLOWEEN! That's just DUMB!

Merlion, I suffered with bad ms with both pregnancies. Peppermint candies seemed to help.Hmm Just a taste and it would calm the gag reflex.

Doing my best NOT to make today any bigger than it needs to be. I need to feed about 10 a football partyish meal around 3. At the moment I have no food or drink or diapers for that matter. UGH! Wish me luck.

ScreamingTerror · 30/10/2010 12:13

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha pasted ha ha ha
my typing totally cracks me up.

HippyHippopotamus · 30/10/2010 19:02

good luck TS Smile

FjorgynAndHotWater · 30/10/2010 21:19

Hope you're having a fab time TS Smile

I took DD to a Halloween party this afternoon and she was too scared to stay on her own so I stayed with her like the good mummy I am. Was actually quite good fun, chatted to some new people and had a few sausage rolls. Ears ringing a bit from the piercing screams and laughter of several small girls, but feeling more confident about having a little party at home for DD's birthday next month. Need a drink now though Grin

Fingers crossed there was something on cbeebies about the end of summertime and all the DC paid attention and oblige by sleeping in tomorrow morning...

RedLentil · 30/10/2010 22:21

Thanks for the text Bibi - it came to dh's phone, and no name popped up so we were trying to figure out how to find out who'd sent it without being rude. Smile

Outlaws gone. Biscuit

Today, I got lots of dust cleared and cooked for the first time on the very wonderful new hob. There's still no working sink in the kitchen, because the worktop came with a chip in it, but we'll get there in the end.

ScreamingTerror · 31/10/2010 00:00
Smile
BibiBelle · 31/10/2010 01:40

Sorry Red, should have signed it properly Blush am V proud though Smile

Mer - have you got glucose sweeties to try a similar thing like ST suggested - a taste and some energy?

DH and I started the paperwork - a 5 minute job said I at 10.30 tonight, we've just finished ShockBlush. Having lived here for 8yrs we finally bought a filing cabinet to sort outselves out and sort we will Grin

cakes/cookies made for tomorrow but I'm not doing a pumpkin as 3 people brought them last year! I bet nobody does this year now!! L hasa tiger/dragon/pirate of death costume but won't wear the pirate as it's too scary and wants to wear the tiger head, dragon body and take the 4ft sword Hmm D not having any of it and DD1 wearing a witch dress with her hair straightened and V smokey/glittery green eyes for her party Smile

DH and I managed a child free lunch todaySmile expect I must be premenstrual as got all upset with it being my Aunt's birthday tomorrow Blush

love to all, not a great night but an early start and D been puking again this evening so am off to bed in the desperate hope that the clockchange doesn't mean a 5am start [meep]

Bloodberrybatbait · 31/10/2010 06:28

Morning Ladies

Benn MIA as BT ate our broadband for a while.

A lovely quiet weekend so far here, Wildlife park yesterday then gardening and a movie in bed with popcorn.

We have decided not to wake up to the clock changes for the girls, we will keep them at old time until about 9ish when we will change them, it's too stressful to try and get them to sleep longer, and carry on at the new time.

BibiBelle · 31/10/2010 07:01

In true Halloween style my eyes have fallen out my head..............

Now what time is it Confused

Bloodberrybatbait · 31/10/2010 07:27

It's 07.26 in real time Bibi

alittlebitshy · 31/10/2010 10:29

I seem to never notice much difference in the dc when the clocks change. thank goodness. I remember when we were in Paris when dd was about 3 months old and with her being our pfb we decided to keep her routine to GMT (well BST i guess then). Not quite sure what we thought would happen Hmm, and seeing as she was a fab sleeper, i think we werejust being very PFB.lol.

dh been away just over a week now - another week and a bit to go. Am pleasantly surprised at how well we are doing. admittedly my parents are here this weekend (and my mum is covering my Monday work evening with the dc) but we are alive, fed, happy. wow.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 31/10/2010 11:30

Had a lovely lie-in this morning, DC managed until 7am, phew, but they didn't go to bed until 8.45pm Hmm DS seems to be an 11-hour-a-night sort of child so if we want more sleep in the morning we need to keep him up late. Not that I mind, he is such destructive delightful company Grin

Had blueberry pancakes for brekker which were delish and just wondering whether we should get washed and dressed before pumpkin carving or after...

Well done on keeping sane albs, DH'll be home before you know it Smile

Good luck with your party today grasser bibi But what is this paperwork of which you speak????

red good to hear you are settling back in to your home and your lovely new kitchen. Also big hurrah for the onwards and upwards-ness of your business. You are very clever and deserve all the success you get Smile

bbbb hope you have another lovely day to match yesterday Smile

Right, where are the old newspapers and sharp knife...

ScreamingTerror · 31/10/2010 12:30

[hsmile]

alittlebitshy · 31/10/2010 16:51

paperwork???

ShineyHappyHair · 31/10/2010 18:43

Sorry Albs I seem to have missed you saying dh was going away - where has he gone?

4 trick-or-treaters so far, we ususally just ignore them but we have been playing ball tonight Grin. Ds away at grandmas (inset day tomorrow) so it's nice and quiet! Dh bathing O and then I'll put him to bed, and then watch the Xfactor

bibi did you get your eyes back in?!

Had a top night out last night with an old school friend who I got in touch with again this year through fb. We ended up in an 80s disco bar which was so cool! Danced until 2am then fell into a taxi and sat watching x factor with a cup of tea Grin. Felt a bit ropey this morning though!!

CrispyTheCorpse · 31/10/2010 20:39

Evening Smile

CrispyTheCorpse · 31/10/2010 20:51

Had a lovely weekend with friends and persuaded them to stay an extra night Smile. Found a wonderful cafe in our nearest town. Have meant to try it loads of times but has never quite happened. We will now be regulars i think BlushGrin

DH has finished our bathroom floor and looks lovely Smile

albs sounds like you are doing brilliantly. Enjoy the time, just you and the DC's and look forward to him coming home Smile

shiney Grin. sounds like a fab night Envy

bibi please come and sort out my leaning tower of pisa paperwork, which is currently threatening the fishes view of the outside world Blush

Girls shattered tonight but fingers x'd we are all on new time tomorrow

PertyPru · 31/10/2010 21:59

Aaaaaah..... guests gone. Lovely to have two grown-up dinners and actually not too bad having two toddlers for two days while our friends went to their singing workshop. (Glad DH was here though.) Only one Bad Parent moment where I was reversing down the stairs in front of DGD and didn't realise DD was coming up behind me - luckily I only kicked her down four steps but still Blush.

Gro-clock is utter magic, changed it to GMT last night (keeping bedtime at almost normal time) and presto, DD quiet until 7am.

Like the sound of your weekends too Crispy, Shiney, Fjorgy and Baity!

ALBS we never doubted you would cope brilliantly! He will be back before you know it.

CrispyTheCorpse · 31/10/2010 22:11

Sorry but LOL at knocking DD flying. I have tripped over the DD's on numerous a number of occasions BlushGrin

Our Kidsleep bunny clock would have been fine (as DD1 came running in this morning proclaiming bunny was awake) if i had reset it properly Hmm
