Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HippyHippopotamus · 27/10/2010 11:41

st, so pleased you're all ok, must have been scarey!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 27/10/2010 11:52

ROFL at Kenny G Grin Mine was the Rollercoaster tour at Brixton Academy - Blur, Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and Dinosaur Jr. It was VERY LOUD :)

HippyHippopotamus · 27/10/2010 11:59

erm, excuse Mrs...but what exactly is wrong with Kenny G? hmmmm?

ScreamingTerror · 27/10/2010 12:17

Hippy I rank Kenny G up there with Michael Bolton WHICH I did see with mom although I was in a butt-mood and sat in a different section from her. Sad memory that is. Kids can be really crap to their parents for no reason.

I wound up at a concert once... Janes Addiction was headlining for Iggy Pop. I stood next to him for a while before he went on. He's very short.

Jimmy Buffet is my all time fav though. Excellent concert!

HippyHippopotamus · 27/10/2010 12:41

sorry its a sad memory but i'm willing to bet there were plenty of other times when you made her happy and proud to be your mum, oops, sorry mom!

Kenny G is pretty short too and it was my mum's choice to go! i wonder what he's up to now....

ScreamingTerror · 27/10/2010 13:35

it's a realistic sad not a "oh horror" sappy sad recollection. just reminds me i have a ways to go to teach these girls a thing or two before it's too late.

BibiBelle · 27/10/2010 14:23

ok confession time but I will deny it if asked again and it is not up for further discussion.

First concernt was MC Hammer ShockBlush

in my defence, since then, I've seen bands including

Eric Clapton

INXS
Fleetwood Mac
Neds Atomic Dustbin Grin
Nirvana
Faith no More
Wet Wet Wet
The Proclaimers
Cold Play

and thousands more at festivals that I can't remember/was too pissed to recall and don't want to bore you with Grin

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 27/10/2010 14:54

I bet I am the only one among us to have seen Norwegian death metal act Yattering Grin

Bloodberrybatbait · 27/10/2010 15:45

My first oncert was Bryan Adam Blush Blush since then I have worked on many many naff ones including Sir Cliff I tend to stick to Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Metalica, U2 and Twin Towers of Rock at the Old wembly.

We have had an amazing morning at a Boillywood day at the local Children's centre - we have dance, made chapattis and samosas, painted diva's made elephant masks and left DD2 in a sensory light tent whilst DD1 had her face painted.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 27/10/2010 16:15

star I saw that Rollercoaster tour at Sheffield. It was very loud wasn't it Grin I still managed to fall asleep during MBV, had been up all night the night before talking to my lush soon-to-be-boyfriend.

First gig ever I am a bit Blush to admit was Marillion, but the second was Bauhaus spin-off band Love and Rockets at the Marquee Club. My mum let me go on the train fro Northampton to London with two boys when I was 16 Grin

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 27/10/2010 16:24

haha Fjorgyn, I saw someone asleep with their head in the bass bin during MBV's set Shock Wasn't you, by any chance? Grin

God, I want a drink tonight. Am at work and haven't touched a drop since Saturday, but my halo is slipping.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 27/10/2010 16:33

ScreamingTerror · 27/10/2010 19:23

bibi, hurting can be good. it might mean more healing is going on.

BibiBelle · 27/10/2010 19:30

ST it was only because it had partially healed over the stitches so it was painful getting them out Blush am aware I'm a big wuss. Has your wind died down GrinGrinGrin

Second call from a Trust member Hmm

D has now eaten like a trooped having been sick - fingers crossed it was a one off!

FjorgynAndHotWater · 27/10/2010 20:08

Hope your hand stops hurting soon bibi, and glad D is feeling better. DS has hardly eaten anything today - he even turned his nose up at fish and chips Shock[not my son] so hoping he goes to sleep OK tonight, don't want another repeat of last night Hmm Hopefully all the excitement of a museum full of trains and a ride on 2 park-and-ride buses will finish him off in 2 mins. DH doing bed time anyway, phew!

FjorgynAndHotWater · 27/10/2010 20:10

Out like a light, I resign from bedtimes!

BibiBelle · 27/10/2010 20:34

I'm sitting watching Desperate Housewives - catching up on some TV with DH at work - and loving Bree and the handyman Grin

I should however be doing sodding cakes!

FjorgynAndHotWater · 27/10/2010 20:45

I am multitasking - cooking halloween buns and making bolognese sauce Don't look much like a domestic goddess though - have mascara half way down my cheeks. Damn those onions are strong!

HippyHippopotamus · 27/10/2010 20:56

evening all Smile

BibiBelle · 27/10/2010 21:05

fjorgyn - I'm hopeless with onions and none of the wives tales work for me either!

CrispyTheCorpse · 27/10/2010 21:15

Swimming goggles hots.

As a tip, you can also wear them swimming. Very Hotmama friendly Wink

FjorgynAndHotWater · 27/10/2010 21:21

Yes I have tried goggles tried a teaspoon in my mouth (Hmm) erm can't think of any others. It doesn't really bother me any more, I am hard core enough to chop away as the tears fall Grin

CrispyTheCorpse · 27/10/2010 21:23

Hard core enough for Jillian?

Grin
