Enya - it is NOT the same thing, you're tired and ill. It was a genuine mistake and I agree with TS. Explain that you were going to tell her you were going for coffee but not shopping. If all else fails cakes help Grin

Thank you all for lovely lovely thought and Merlion I loved it Grin No flowers but lots of well wishers and balloons/cards so that was nice. Was a lovely day and I have come home not stressed/looking forward to going back - a feeling I haven't had about work for a long time! Dad and his sister here now staying in the cottage so tomorrow should be fun Hmm We've already had an incident with my Aunt (who's never been to my house or met my kids more than twice) where she shouted at the girls and was met with very Angryfaces from me and DH. She apologised profusely and I suppose she is 70+

Operation on hand this morning went well and painkillers are dulling the pain somewhat. Tad nippet so I'm going to sign off for now. I have a private order and the big garden centre for Fri as well as a funeral on Fri so time to catch some rest.

If I haven't mentioned before how much I love you all (even if you are a bunch of hairy truckers) and how much all your support means to me then I'm sorry because I do and it means LOADS Smile

Star that dinner looks lovely .Smile DD2 is much the same way now about climbing.Hmm She scares me a little, really.

Crispy your gym is far better than mine. How on earth are you allowed time in the jacuzzi while you have party kids around.Hmm I was lucky I had 1 lifeguard in the pool for ours and NO ONE helped with the kids during food time.HmmHmm

Bibi my hope is you are enjoying a restful night.

Well the neighbor's cat is alive but "stretched out" for lack of a better description. He's being monitored for bleeding. Poor thing! The saddest part is my neighbor is in her 80s and only recently found out her husband, who is lovely too, has Alzheimer's which is rapidly taking over him. She told me she just couldn't take any more sorrow. That cat means the world to her. We spent the afternoon driving around trying to find the dogs. When her cat was attacked he had only been out of the house "maybe" 15 minutes. She just lets him out to tinkle.

OKAY enough sadness!!! The girls have been on again off again behaved today. We've had to separate them just now because DD2 is acting like a crazed fool in the bedroom. AGAIN, DD1 is lying in bed trying to sleep while DD2 climbs the bedside chest and stage dives onto DD1's head. DD1 screams, "STOP I'M TRYING TO GO TO SLEEP!" DD2 laughs hysterically.

Morning Confused

What a night. Dd2 was so sick last night Sad thinking it was her cold sitting on her chest. This morning she tells me she is cold and that her tummy is rumbling but won't really eat Sad lots of cuddles for her today!

Have decided to leave friend to her own devices. On reflection I was out of order yes but appologised profusely and explained why I said what I said so refuse to beat myself up anymore about it! See I am definitely growing as a person!!!

Bibi sounds wonderful (apart from crotchety aged aunt obv) and in case we haven't mentioned it lately we are all massively proud of you and delighted at how things have taken off. See I can't be tipsy cos it's only 10.03 am so it must be true Grin

enya you are DEAD RIGHT - apologise and explain but don't grovel and beg for forgiveness. She'll get over it, and if she doesn't she sounds rather high maintenance.

That fish looks great Star. I have 6 female friends for supper tomorrow night - wondering what to cook that's easy, pretty, etc? Any ideas? I've combed Nigella, Darina Allen, the usual suspects, have no inspiration AT ALL.

Ursula Roast mediterranean veg, feta cheese and cous cous, maybe a balsamic drizzle and some onion jam or hoummous or salad. For pud, Greek yoghurt and honey and/or a chilled plate of orange/satsuma segments and chunks of good chocolate. Vegetarian, cheap and no slaving over a hob but all v tasty.

ursula puff pastry tart...open box of jusroll puff pastry, take off plastic and lay flat on an oiled baking tray. blob a couple of tablespoons of tomato puree on it. rip up some ham and scatter wildly. do the same with a couple of balls of mozarella. now chuck a couple of sliced tomatoes over the top. sprinkle with 'erbs (oregano works particularly well) Bung in oven for 20mins

And to everyone i've impressed with above tart Blush i apologise! but yes, its v easy!

and it would go particularly well with silk's suggestions Smile

Ursula - I would make a big warming soup with fresh bread and lashing of butter followed by a warm chocolatey pud with icecream/cream. Well at least that is what our guests are getting tomorrow. Sunday's guests are getting steak and kidney pudding with veg and extra gravy followed by boybait and then heart attacks all round! The main course is a request dish by all the men attending.

Helloo everyone else. Half term is here and DD1 cried all the way home from nursery as she wanted to stay even though the eiontire place was shutting down at 1!

Aaargh I went to the supermarket and trailed around hoping for inspiration and just came back with my normal shopping and eight ramekins (why? in case I decide to make creme brulee or something? I have already got ramekins. My period must be coming Hmm)

I have made strawberry ice cream anyway as we still have piles of strawberries in the shops for some reason, there will be no starter so I will now have a hmmmmm about your suggestions which are all v interesting and pretty doable. I am doing a pile of books I'm giving away, on a table at the front door, so they can all rummage for a going home present, and the rest will go to charity shop in a.m. Supper and declutter. What could be lovelier???

BUT more importantly DRRRINK I have some sort of THIRST on me and I have a yummy sherry I've been hoarding and a bottle of Limoncello that we brought back from Rome, and someone gave DP a v nice box of wine which he has had stolen donated for me and my mates Smile. Speaking of drink I can vouch for MrCrisp not being the box wine kind, over the summer we were subsisting off whatever we could get in the local shop (range of 4 types) and the Crisps had smuggled imported their own directly from Crispshire! Though Crispy I meant to tell you we found a FAB food & wine shop about 2 days before we went home.

LOL at aged aunt on the wii. There's a pun there but I'm not going to be the one to make it.

Silks isn't there some joke / punchline about "get your paws off my silken drawers" or something, it floats out of my subconscious every time I see your name.

BBBB you're making me hungry and bleurgh at the same time. Sorry Ursula but all this talk of food making me feel more queasy so don't have any advice to offer.

Am supposed to be at friends free-flow champagne buffet piss up but can't face it so have cried off sick as too many people too many questions plus not too far from the truth!

DS is being really trying

i've just caught him red-handed posting letters out of our house
he has emptied all of his clothes out of his drawers every day this week before every nap/sleep
Refused to wear trousers yesterday so i said 'fine, no toddler group' Cue enormous tantrum
etc etc

i can safely say the terrible twos are absolutely most definitely here
i was feeling guilty about being shouty mum so i asked if he wanted to go to the park. apparently not, he wants to do his jigsaws

Was is he just doing it with me though? with dh he's as sweet as pie

DH was talking the possiblity of a third child last night Confused

Pubs same distance as house and neither are nice enough to take a toddler, that's the only thing wrong with our lovely little suburb. Lovely lovely bar only a mile away though (makes me think I should sign up DS1 to Beavers near there actually). Anyway, DD obviously picked up on my stress and spontaneously said she didn't mind if she didn't go. I will make it up to her at bedtime as I do have a small chocolate stash I was saving to share with DH.

Oh that's it! Grin Watch it, I'm not Doris Day, I was not brought uuuup that waaaay. I love Stockard Channing.

Any activity for an hour is rubbish, leaves you no time to do anything worth while. Do you have a bike seat you could pop her on - for another time obviously - to speed the trip up, ds1 went on one on the crossbar till he was about 8, was great.

Hips sorry you have trying times with ds. Tomorrow he will probably be the purest little poppet on earth, you know the way they suddenly pull it out of the bag for you. I have had one of those days where everyone has been under my feet making a mess, pulling things around and leaving crap everywhere aaaarrgh and it's all been happening round my desk, working from home is a DISASTER. Sadly I raised my voice to ds2 today who really didn't deserve it and was horrified and burst into tears. We were a disgrace to the supermarket today, MN major would be disgusted, ds2 didn't just eat grapes (half a kilo) he ate sesame sticks, drank a 200ml bottle of apple juice, and was looking for peanuts Confused and cheese. In our defence we do that thing where you bring your own scanner round on your honour and cough up at the end so we had scanned the stuff before scoffing it.

my voice has been raised and Ds definitely deserved it! although i guess part of the problem is DD is having a growth spurt and he seems to be a bit jealous. when she's sleeping or happily in cot, i'm making sure we (me and DS) have quality time/play together but most of that time at the moment seems to be spent in naughty corner. hey ho

i wouldn't worry about your supermarket shop...sounds like E covered all his food groups Grin

anyone got any ideas for a v quiet, shy 6 yr old boy?

DS has switched from 'just woken up' mode to 'adorably cute' mode already this morning. i'm hoping the switch to 'challenging monster' mode doesn't happen today Hmm

so what's everyone got planned for today? apart from obviously helping me with my present quandary!
