silk this is a trip he's had planned for ages to see the girls and he has booked the wee cottage at the end of the road. I think he'd be upset if we cancelled on him now and he's already offered to look after the girls while we go to the funeral.

been building furniture at the new shop today and very slightly launched the FB page for the new shop (have learnt my lesson and not naming it on here!) and now sitting looking up shop fittings - all rock n roll here!

Star - all sounds wonderful Smile

Cripsy - have a night

TS - glad today has been so good Smile

ScreamingTerror · 16/10/2010 00:39

HmmBibi, my snooper ways have failed me. Did you post stuff or "almost" post stuff?

Ladies I may NOT be "THE" room mom but I had such an awesome time today doing stuff for DD1's class and had a wonderful time chatting with her teacher in the process. I guess if I take a step back and LOOK at what I'm doing for the class/teacher I really have it good. Also, I had a meeting about Girl Scouts today and I might end in a position to teach there as well. So cool and DD1 is over the moon excited. It's really been a positive day for us (me).

Spreading good will and joy around the thread!!

Morning Smile

DC driving me demented, they've been awake since 6.30am (why only on Saturday, why ?????????). Tried to ignore them for a while but gave up and came downstairs. Have finally got them to be quiet by putting a Peppa Pig dvd on Blush

enyahadenough · 16/10/2010 09:23

UrsulaUndressUp · 16/10/2010 09:49

Hi there.

We had a very odd night with ds2, woke absolutely screaming as if in agony or terrified, went on for ages and ages, it happened about 2 weeks ago as well. He said his legs were sore the first time, last night he said it was his feet. Really strange - I would be asking you all about night terrors, I think Bibi and Blueberry were talking about them before, but he seemed to be awake. Any ideas? Normally he sleeps through.

ST/TS glad you've had a stimulating day with dd's teacher - but listen, have you ever thought about training as a primary school teacher? I'd have thought with your energy, organisation and interest in child development etc you'd be a really good one.

Bibi that's v exciting to be making up the furniture, any little hooks or shelves or interesting bits I can pick up for you in Avoca, you let me know!

Silky good news on K's hearing!

HippyHippopotamus · 16/10/2010 09:59

morning all Smile

FjorgynAndHotWater · 16/10/2010 10:04

Poor DS2 Sad No advice I'm afraid, just sympathy. My DS wouldn't go to sleep last night because he 'don't like star jamas' Hmm I do vaguely remember nasty leg 'growing pains' as a child, maybe it's that? Did calpol fix it? Hope you aren't too broken today...

enya look after yourself. That goes for you too bibi. Here's hoping everyone has a better week than last week...

Time to get washed and dressed I think [slattern]

FjorgynAndHotWater · 16/10/2010 10:05

Morning hippy Smile

enyahadenough · 16/10/2010 11:37

sorry to hear about ds2 ursula.. maybe growing pains as fjyorn suggested??

ok soft play, shops and walk completed, lunch on the go.. think its time for a well deserved cuppa! Smile

ScreamingTerror · 16/10/2010 12:10

Ursula I think the growing pains is a good possibility too. OR his leg/foot could be falling asleep, which can be scary & painful. I would think with 'night terrors' you wouldn't wake complaining of a pain. Kids are pretty basic in that regard. Grown up are too really. After I've had a really good pilates workout I often wake in the middle of the night with a pain here or a pain there as my body adjusts and builds muscle where it didn't have it before.

As for the real teacher professional gig... I lack only a few college hours being an educator but it doesn't interest me any more. The hoops and red tape our teachers have to deal with is embarrassing to say the least. I like being on the support end of the stick. Plus I have a hard time with parents that think it's the school's purpose to educate their children and not theirs. You can REALLY tell which kids have involved parents and which don't. It is a very sad thing. On the professional front, I'm really a business lady deep down. I need projects and deadlines in a construction related or procurement related industry.

Off to riding lessons shortly.Smile

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 16/10/2010 17:22

Ursula I had awful growing pains all through my childhood from very tiny up until my teens, and onwards tbh although they can't have been growing pains by then Hmm [shortarse] I used to wake up crying all the time with them, it's such a horrible feeling - like cold ache in your bones and no painkillers can take it out :( Warmth seemed to help, and a bit of gentle leg rubbing, so maybe try some sort of toddler-safe hot water bottle next time. Poor DS2 :(

ST forgot to answer your q earlier. Yes, it is me who has the tattoo from Hannah of LA Ink. It's the big one on my back, in case you were wondering Grin Not finished yet but I understand she's now finished the show so I am hoping for some progress next year!

Silkstalkings · 16/10/2010 18:32

Bibi Have you thought about Ikea instead of regular shopfitting suppliers? My brother used to have a toyshop and that was done out entirely with Ikea shelving and furniture, inc the cashdesk and a coffee bar with stools. If it gets scruffy you can always repaint or replace and transfer it easily if/when you move premises.

ScreamingTerror · 16/10/2010 18:40

Star, I thought so! Yes, Hannah left a couple years ago and moved back North to be with family (at least that's what they led us to believe on the show). Does that mean you might travel over to let her work on it?????????Grin

-All for Screamers went to DD1's riding lesson.
-DH sat in the truck after with DD2 (sleeping) while DD1 & I had lunch at a place we like.
-Once home, I mowed the front yard (basically mowed leaves) and cleaned out off the gutters on the front of the house and cut back a bush/tree that DH will remove later today.
-THEN I put some Red Velvet cupcakes in the oven. WAITING ON THE RESULT NOW.......

ScreamingTerror · 16/10/2010 18:40

all FOUR not everyone for a screamHmm

ScreamingTerror · 16/10/2010 19:22

Hey TS - I have been working all day - home now eating chinese and watching 2 and a half men. Am brokenly exhausted, up at 6 baking and then busy cafe all day, DD2 was with me and DD1 at home with my mum.

HippyHippopotamus · 16/10/2010 20:57

oooh i want chinese!!!

ScreamingTerror · 16/10/2010 21:56

Hippy I found my internet issue. It was DH!!Angry He heard me talking to you and walked in to say hello at the moment we lost contact. I waited then called DH's work (he works for our service provider). They checked everything and nothing was wrong to the house. I then asked DH EXACTLY what he did before walking into to the dining room. He showed me. He moved a movie box that was on top of the router which caused it to disconnect from the www.Hmm HOW ON EARTH!?! There are some days that I feel like I'm living in a comedy special.HmmHmm

Hi BlueBerry!

HippyHippopotamus · 16/10/2010 22:49

blueberryboybait · 17/10/2010 06:54

BibiBelle · 17/10/2010 09:25
