Unclean, unclean, we have nits Blush

Poor DD has been itching her hair for a while and only just had a rummage today. There were loads of the little buggers Shock Hoping I've combed them all out...

It's a beautiful day here, hope you all are having fun in the sunshine Smile

Merlion · 17/10/2010 13:12

BBBB and Bibi my morning was much the same as yours. DH left at 4.45 am to do a half marathon and DS woke up at 5am! We were downstairs by 6am. All 3 of us had a 3 hour nap at lunch time. DH now trying to get DS to sleep. We had my uncle and aunt and the Singaporean cousins over for a bbq this afternoon so DS been rather spoilt by all the attention and is not letting DH leave his room. I am on the sofa with laptop and ginger beer which is helping me feeling less sick which I have been feeling lots today.

ScreamingTerror · 17/10/2010 13:21

Hots eeeuuuwwwww! You are living my worst fear at the moment.

DD2 started chanting "ORANGE JUICE!" ORANGE JUICE! ORANGE JUICE!" so I got up and got her some orange juice. She's happily seated next to me now here in bed.

ScreamingTerror · 17/10/2010 13:22

ginger beer?Hmm

BibiBelle · 17/10/2010 14:00

ginger helps with nausea Screaming

Merlion - I know it's horrible feeling sick but its a brilliant sign - stay with it!!

all still in pyjamas and I've been working online all day - time to sort lunch though Blush

Merlion · 17/10/2010 14:15

ST it's non-alcoholic. Lovely stuff brewed in Australia (at least the one I'm drinking is).

I know bibi it is making me feel more hopeful after Friday when I'm not sure I felt pg at all.

ShineyHappyHair · 17/10/2010 15:12

fjorgyn I was telling ds how in victorian times they used to pour hot tar on a lice-infested head, wait for it to set then rip the lot off. Quite glad society has advanced a little since then!

glad the ginger beer is helping merlion I used to drink that too for pf nausea. Half marathon? Is he mad? (she says, whilst having already promised a friend to run the Nottingham half marathon next September!!)

Anyway, stop making me come on mn when I'm supposed to be studying!

ShineyHappyHair · 17/10/2010 15:13

pf nausea, lol, of course I meant pg nausea. There is nothing nauseous about pf Grin

BibiBelle · 17/10/2010 15:52

merlion - someone told me (all too late!) that drinking an actimel each morning helped with nausea? not sure if that's any use to you either Hmm

Silkstalkings · 17/10/2010 17:43

Sugary squash is my recommendation for pg nausea - even if you end up puking it up, at least some of the calories will have stayed down and will help keep your blood sugar levels up. That and regular flapjacks, porridge or hoummous to stop you getting a dramatic drop in levels.

Silkstalkings · 17/10/2010 17:46

We only have one child this evening, it's an INSET day tomorrow so the others have gone to my folks' for a sleepover and trip to Corfe Castle. Feels v odd being a family of 3. Wish there was a nice pub garden nearby so we could all go out tonight or would that be v chavvyBlush?

BibiBelle · 17/10/2010 18:14

not chavvy at all silky - enjoy your evening Smile

ScreamingTerror · 17/10/2010 19:08

we've been sitting in the garden (backyard) most of the day. the girls have basically just wandered all around the house. very nice to do nothing but enjoy the day.

ScreamingTerror · 17/10/2010 19:32

okay so ginger beer is ginger ale, right?Hmm i feel so stupid sometimes.Shock

i'm going to nap now.

Silkstalkings · 17/10/2010 19:43

Nope, ginger beer is something different, you can make it at home. Is also Cockney rhyming slangGrin.

We are waiting for chocolate brownies to cook and are planning to eat the whole thing warm with ice cream, in our pants in bed watching tv. We know how to live.

CrispyTheCorpse · 17/10/2010 20:44

Evening Smile

I haven't really stopped since Fri night. Hangover most of Saturday Blush, but i must say i do know some of the playgroup mums MUCH better now Grin

Girls went to a party yesterday afternoon and neighbours over for dinner and Strictly - we have even recruited another neighbour in and had voting paddles HmmGrin

Went for a long arboretum walk, collected leaves and then came home and DH and I the girls made leaf bowls and then meatballs. Knackered now.

I love Ginger Beer but always forget that i do so never buy it. Thanks for the reminder Smile

BibiBelle · 17/10/2010 20:53

right girls, debate needed over on the FB page please Smile

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 17/10/2010 21:12

Hey girls, DS's big boy bed is arriving tomorrow - is there anything in particular we should be doing to help him get accustomed to the change? We have mentioned many several times that he is getting a proper bed and he seems interested. His best friend is also in a big bed and DS has enjoyed much bouncing on that Grin

CrispyTheCorpse · 17/10/2010 21:16

star i would actually play it down rather than 'big it up'. Perhaps get him to help you make the bed early on in the day and get him to arrange his teddies/animals to ensure they are comfortable. Then at bedtime, he just gets in and snuggles down as per normal

BibiBelle · 17/10/2010 21:25

Star - the one we got for the girls, and which will pass down to D as well Blush was an IKEA one which had folded up ends. Wed put it up against the wall and a barrier on the outside of it so it was really cosey and safe. keep his bedclothes the same where posible and I'm sure he'll be delighted. D desperate for one as she sees the girls in theirs and L dying for a big girls bed like E's!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 17/10/2010 21:38

Great ideas, thanks both :) You experienced mums always know how to party Crisp what's what Grin

CrispyTheCorpse · 17/10/2010 21:46

Oh yes, leaf bowl parties are all the rage Wink

ShineyHappyHair · 17/10/2010 21:54

Did you eat the meatballs from the leafbowls??? Wink

Star we are getting O's big boy bed on Weds, it's a cotbed that was my Dneice and nephews, which my mum bought for wanker bro and his wife when they were first expecting. Tight fisted fuckers made mum buy it back from them when they'd finished with it!!!!!!! Anyway, we are getting it for natch, complete with new mattress and bedguard. I've not mentioned it to O as his language skills don't convince me he'd have a clue what I'm talking about!

ST I like the sound of your day Smile. Apart from a food shop, we did very little too.

BibiBelle · 17/10/2010 22:31

fecking happyhair - they're a classact Hmm

ScreamingTerror · 18/10/2010 01:31

Hi!

Star, we didn't purchase a special bed for DD2 (or DD1 really). Once done with the "baby bed" (in her case the playyard) we just one random night put her in the big bed (same as DD1). No drama play up or discussion. DD2 only had to revert back to the playyard for a few nights after about a month of sleeping fine. She was having STAY IN THE BED issues at night night time. She clued in to what was going on and now goes to bed as she should (plays/fights/reads for a little while then snores).Smile We took the roll bar (whatever it's called) off last week on her side and she's been fine. Her sister is the one that rolls all over the bed and is more likely to fall out. To this day, neither have fallen out of their queen bed. There's carpet on the floor so it really wouldn't be a big deal if they did.

Mercy that was a novel. Sorry.

I have a headache and my muscles hurt from pilates today. Oh well. Fall break is this week so I AM SLEEPING IN!!!

Night.
