Hello. Smile

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CrispyTheCrisp · 14/10/2010 21:42

Glad the meetup was a success. VERY Envy

Just finished work and am freezing cold for some reason, despite heating being on Confused

DD2 is being really cruel to DD1 Sad. DD1 spent ages today making DD2 a planet and a star and writing her name on them at preschool (all the other children only did their own). She was SO excited about giving it to DD2, who took one look at it and said - 'Eugh, don't want it'. Poor DD1 was horrified and tried to explain to DD2 what it was and she just shouted 'NO' and pushed it away Sad.
DD1 is a real people pleaser and just couldn't comprehend the reaction Sad. I have said to DD1 that DD2 was just very tired and will hopefully thank her for it in the morning

ALBS how long are you away for? Perhaps you can think of it along the lines of absence makes the heart grow fonder Grin

CrispyTheCorpse · 14/10/2010 23:20
salta · 15/10/2010 00:28

Oh Crispy. How sad. DS hits DD. Not hard, and she usually doesn't notice, but definitely deliberately. He gets taken to stand in the corner when he does and then has to say sorry, but I don't think that we are getting anywhere much.

I think that it must be a phase. Maybe their age.

ScreamingTerror · 15/10/2010 01:33

Boo! Enough of the administrative duties. It's time to party Halloween style. MUAHHAHAHA!!!!

ScreamingTerror · 15/10/2010 01:38

DD2 wails on DD1 all the time. She pulls her hair and kicks her. DD1 just screams and tattle tells. If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times, "TELL HER NO!" DD2 knows she's got the upper hand.Wink

No bed rail on DD2 side of the bed tonight. Fingers crossed all goes well. She didn't fall out the bed while we were traveling so I'm guessing things will be fine. The other morning I went in to wake them and DD1 was in DD2's spot and vice versa. The both sat up and looked at each other like "how did that happen." It was very funny.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 15/10/2010 08:31

Crikey ST (can I call you TS? Wink) my DD still falls out of bed sometimes and she's nearly 5!

crispy I hope DD2 has woken in a more generous mood this morning.

DS is v sweet with his sister and only fights her if they are after the same toy or both want to sit on my knee. She however can be quite mean to him, pushing and hitting. It's a good job he is so sturdy...

Got lots to do today so really ought to get on with it. Well, maybe have another drink and pootle about on the internet first Blush

CrispyTheCorpse · 15/10/2010 09:02

DD2 still not impressed with her planet present Hmm, however despite DH getting in at 1am he managed to drag up lots of enthusiasm about it at 7am so she is feeling slightly better.

It's funny because DD2 has NO need to please people at all. She does her stuff as and when and thats that. DD1 is very different but i fear will get hurt for her generosity of feelings Sad

Loving the new name TS and so so sweet how your girls sleep together

I had sorted a meeting for Tues to try and work out to sort out the work stuff but have realised DD1's preschool have photos being taken that day and i was going to take DD2 along to get some shots of both. Back to the drawing board

BibiBelle · 15/10/2010 09:41

well done Crisp - DD2 had hers on Tues and I forgot all about it. Fortunately (and purely by chance) she'd had her hair washed the night before and was looking ok. I never keep them though Blush our lot take them all a in too 'staged' a fashion for my liking. Fully understanding the hurt through generosity - I'm a bit like that Blush and DD1 definately heading that way too bless her.

DH gave my sodding brekker to the dog. Now I knew it wasn't much and I knew it would be cold but I was still looking forward to it lol. Am going to drag this one out all day!
D has since mooched the replacement toast I made myself so I've given up!!

TS - well done on the bed olympics! We've still got D in her cot. She doesn't climb out and I'm happy to use it as long as possible Grin still looking into bunks for the girls though but M&S now saying they no longer have the white ones

Hello everyone else. Sorry to be so absent. Off shift now and on Annual Leave till Nov 1st so going to try to kick back a bit with DH and spend some time just with the girls.

ALBS I'm so sorry but I'm not going to manage up to Aberdeen Sad I promise I'll make an attempt at heading south next year to meet up with you all properly.

Funeral for our friend is a week today Sad Gabriel's due date is a week tomorrow. I'll be on the vodka a week on Sun Biscuit

Dad coming for a visit and is apparently bringing his sister for a night. I've probably never mentioned my aunt on here and there is good reason. She is his only living relative though so will have to bite my tongue Hmm

DD1 away to school dressed head to toe in pink/purple to raise money for polo Grin because people paint their fingers purple Grin and DD2 away to nursery as Supergirl in a spiderman hoody just because she wants to - all is as it should be in the house of DixieBelle!

UrsulaUndressUp · 15/10/2010 09:43

Aww poor midiSazz. Sad We often have a lesser version of that where ds1 says "can I have a kiss?" or hug or whatever and ds2 shouts "No! go away!" and tears off.

Fjgjjghgjyjg isn't it a bit early for drink?

ALBS you might surprise yourself and have a brilliant time! I hope your ticket turned up. We went to a JW reading in Bath, but the queue for signing was about a thousand miles long so we didn't hang about. She's good in person.

Glad and rather Envy that you all had a good meet-up, but sorry petitPert was unwell. Ooh I wish we could have a Christmas party. Am on rather restricted budget at the mo though so trips to Londinium unlikely for moi.

UrsulaUndressUp · 15/10/2010 09:50

Hello Bibi, we cross-posted. I'm sorry this is such a shitty time, hopefully some time off with your lovely, though breakfast-ruining, family will be the best thing for you at the moment.

Merlion · 15/10/2010 11:33

Ursula I was thinking that too re the drinking and it's only 6.30pm here. Not looking forward to clocks going back as there'll be an even bigger time difference.

Bibi hoping you get something of a break over the next couple of weeks and some time to reflect and grieve for all your losses.

Re meet ups if everything does go ok with bean I am hoping to be able to have an extended visit to the UK (a bit like Salta's this year) but would probably want to wait till about 3 months after because of the flight etc so that would be September-ish next year. DH would probably come for some of it and would try to do one leg of the journey with either my Mum & Dad or MIL if we could coordinate visits but I'm getting way ahead of myself really. But it would hopefully finally give me chance to meet up with some of you.

enyahadenough · 15/10/2010 11:35

hugs bibi

i forgot about dd1 first school photo, they arrived home yest and we will not be buying HmmGrin...

HippyHippopotamus · 15/10/2010 19:09

blimey, quiet on here today...

CrispyTheCorpse · 15/10/2010 19:14

We are all in hiding pondering how to tell merlion that we don't actually exist Grin

I am off out for a girls evening with wine, curry and chat. Hurrah! Smile

My neighbour has crushed my shoulder into submission, so i am hoping the wine will finish it off.......

Hurrah for Monday enya, so good to get it dealt with asap Smile

HippyHippopotamus · 15/10/2010 19:22

oh good grief crisp, you're right.. she's going to finally realise we're all properly hairy and drive big trucks Grin

blueberryboybait · 15/10/2010 19:29

And she wonders why there are never any meet up picces :) We were all at the local greasy spoon having a fry up and tea so strong the spoon disolves if you stir too long.

Dh let DD1 nap on the wayt to cvollect me from the station so she only went to bed at 9.30! and I was thinking leaving her at home was the best plan.

Much love and hugs to everyone - there are so many going through so much at the moment.

Bibi - extra special hgs to you especially - the next week for you would drive the best of us to drink, please take time for you and J to say good bye and grieve for those you have lost. xxx

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 15/10/2010 19:41

I am around, once again lurking in our hotel room waiting for DS to fall asleep :) Having a lovely time away; this morning we went to Whitstable and properly fell in love with the place, all winding alleys and friendly independent shops, and then in the pm we went here which was fantastic - I heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a day out in this part of the UK. DS loved it all and had great fun naming all the animals.

Lots of love to all x

CrispyTheCorpse · 15/10/2010 19:44

I LOVE Howletts Star. I went to uni in C'bury and haven't been back for years

Whitstable was a V good choice versus Margate or Ramsgate Grin

HippyHippopotamus · 15/10/2010 20:01

star when are you going back up north? if you're going from kent you'll be driving past-ish me so let me know if you fancy popping in on the way. i might even rustle up a cup of tea for you Smile

blueberry i'm got the stuff for a fry up in the morning Grin nowt wrong with a proper fry up to get the day started Smile There was a great truckers cafe near to where i used to skydive, food was served in mountains, tea was in bottomless cups and it actually tasted pretty good to!

enya how about as many meet as possible at one of our houses and we can skype the foreigners. will be thinking of you on monday

merlion ooh, it'd be great to meet you in rl! i'm especially excited about our boys meeting though!!
have you got a date for your scan yet?

bibi be kind to yourself, thinking of you x

i'm so tired, i took ds to a gym class thing this morning (with albs and H) and he absolutely loved it...especially the beam! whenever i walk anywhere near him he wants to walk on garden walls so he was in his element! and then this afternoon i walked over to a random girl's house (from nct email list despite me not being part of nct!) to pick up some bf tops. i've come home with eight and a pair of pyjamas and i didn't even take half of what she had! feels like i walked miles...off to google how far...blimey... it was a 3 mile round trip!!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 15/10/2010 20:04

Arf, although I did love Bembom Brothers back in the day Grin My dear bro also went to uni here and I hadn't been back since he moved away, so partly why I wanted to come. It's a lovely place. We have been shamelessly nosing in estate agents' windows Blush

blueberryboybait · 15/10/2010 20:14

Hippo - we used to go to a truckers cafe on Saturday mornings before the girls were born - great big bacon and fried egg sarnies on stodgy white bread. yummy!

Crispy - enjoy the curry. I have made DH sausage and mach - I am having a toastie and some yummy things from the SA shop in London.

Star - your break sounds just lovely and exactly what you needed.

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 15/10/2010 20:27

DH and I spent far too many mornings eating in the Gorge Cafe in Reading Blush That was our year of getting fat. Seems to have spilled over, rather Hmm

Silkstalkings · 15/10/2010 21:29

Wotcha
Kurt passed his hearing test with flying colours but has a little glue ear so will see them again in the new year. Now I have to track down the HV (they have moved but can't find number anywhere onlineHmm) and get him on the SALT waiting list. Have decided to go for that rather than Devpmt Paed as I am now leaning towards communication issue rather than spectrum. No doubt I will change my mind again and kick myself next week but I really hate the Paed lady so avoiding her as long as possBlush.

Last ever NCT sale tomorrow, boohoo..?

Silkstalkings · 15/10/2010 21:37

Bibibelle Is your dad coming for the funeral? If not can you tell him you won't be up to having guests that week? You are allowed to say no sometimes and if you explain what else you'll be dealing with, I'm sure he'd understand. You've done so much for your family in the last few years, you have to remind them you're not just free accommodation & brownies.

ScreamingTerror · 15/10/2010 22:20

Hello!!!!! Excellent day (but not without hiccups). Sitting on the patio with the girls playing in the wind. The weather is definitely changing. I am and have been in a sweater all day (apart from an hour in DD1's school where it was scorching).

I'd love to figure out a way to get my ass over there for Merlion's visit next year. I'll have to ponder that. I already feel bad that I missed Salta. FLYING!!!! ARGH!!!

Did someone mention SKYPE?

Must go but will be back later. LOVE
