Aww stac I think I will now you've said that! I saw some of the outfits in Asda, might go in there on Thurs and have a look.
How cute would he look as a little pumpkin!

For the past 3 evenings Dylan has been falling asleep around 6:30, does this mean he wants to go to bed at this time or is it a nap?
Hes asleep in his bouncy chair now, he looks like he's in a deep sleep like he is at night (not REM sleep like during the day) we usually give him a bath at 7pm but thats out the window now. So this means giving him a bath before DP gets home and I have no idea where dinner would fit in, I hate eating past 6:30 really.

Ah yes I know who you mean, also...its not rubbish!

Chulita · 18/10/2010 19:59

dh for a looooong time DD went to 'bed' at 4.30/5pm and slept til 10pm, fed, slept til 2am, fed, slept til 6. That was her pattern for about 7/8 months. If we tried to keep her up it just didn't work. For a glorious 8 weeks (at about 12 months old) she slept 4.30pm til 6.30am - it was bliss!

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/10/2010 21:01

chul just goes to show every baby is different. He woke at 7ish, we gave him a bath and he's just started to drop off now. Sometimes I get an eve and sometimes I dont.

Are everyone elses babies in the best mood first thing in the morning and it slowly deteriorates as the day goes on?
Dylan will lie on his play gym, gurgling, sucking fingers and just generally being good when we first get up, but by 3ish he's moany, clingy, wants to feed, poss over tired. He's so bad at sleeping in the day.

Going to take him for a walk at lunch to get him to sleep that way, then Ive got a friend coming over at 3 so Im hoping he wont be moany then.

memphis83 · 19/10/2010 09:05

morning ladies.
hopw you had a better night mlic im with you on the halloween front, its not my kind of thing but L had got a baby grow and socks bought for him but the babygrow i would put him in anytime!

stac14 · 19/10/2010 09:16

one good thing about living where we do no one knows its a house and we never get people knocking on the door!
right ive just phoned the hv again called on friday leaving message that they say they get back to you on the same day they didnt ive called doc to complain they said call again i have, answerphone again, i need him weighed weekly now im fuming!

Argh! That bfing thread is really pissing me off...someone said that they take issue with the OP saying that bfing still hurt at 12 weeks and she said that 'no one I know has had pain that long' pah, pish and humbuggerance...I've still got pain 12.5 weeks on in one breast and it's nothing to do with latch. And, I'm still struggling with bfing even this far on but it's to do with Sam's reflux and him not wanting to feed etc etc. Why did I even bother to read/post, fricking frickeroons.

Back in a minute after I've had a cuppa and a couple dozen hobnobs

Woodlands · 19/10/2010 11:09

memphis ew yuck! similar thing happened here on saturday morning, projectile poo hit the sheets, me, everything. luckily it was sheet changing day, not the day after! this morning at 4am he had pooed so changed him on the bed again. luckily we didn't have a repeat - changing sheets at 4am no fun.

have been trying to put j to bed earlier. sunday night i took him to bed at 8.30 and he settled by 9.30. last night i waited till after masterchef had finished at 9, but couldn't get him off until 10.45. this is why previously i took him to bed when i went - it felt like me whole evening was spent feeding him in a darkened room with no telly, internet etc. maybe it will get shorter in time.

stac14 · 19/10/2010 11:30

i agree with that mlic when i was a kid you went to doors with your parents and were gavd a sweet we also weren't allowed to dress up when you reached 12 as it was deemed childish. I still give the kids a bag but the teenagers up here know us well so dp usually tells them to grow up. I hate guy fawkes but again do it for the kids. We went to a display last year and ds hated it, it was a waste of money. We usually just buy our own.

Some people are just up their own ass chulita not everyones the same

woods maybe he gets over tired and thats why he was up later, rileigh does that fighting sleep if i dont have her down for ten

memphis your hv will only visit if she has concerns etc, mine came much longer as i am high risk postnatal. Go to the drop in, they will make time to speak to you and it doesnt have to be the hv you dont like so defo go x

morning all

3 full nights of sleep in this house - everyone in their own beds/cots/cribs too!! weirdly i feel more tired than when i was getting 4 hours of broken sleep!

i'm sure it won't last - we surely must be blessed with teething/growth spurt soon.

A has started feeding like mad (currently on 4th feed) in the mornings now, every morning i think its the 3m growth spurt but she calms down later on so i think it's just her catching up from the night.

feel another dose of mastitis threatening as my right breast is murder but i can't seem to clear it Sad

dh and needle you may get back down to your pre-baby size yet so don't chuck out all your clothes! i was back to a size 10 after DS and i didn't diet or exercise at all. Other than the c-sec scar everything looked the same. this time round, not so much but i live in hope. my weight's almost back to normal but my tummy is def not as flat and then there's the new scar and a lovely sprinkling of stretch-marks (didn't get any first time but got 5 with A)...

i'm kinda dreading what my chest will look like after all this though - by the time i finish bf A it'll have been thru 4 years of non-stop pg and/or bf. seriously considering a boob-job if i 'need' one afterwards, which i'm not sure quite gels with my feminist views Hmm

needle i went to john lewis yday and saw that gorgeous white snow suit you bought. i went for the pink and aqua rose-print one in the end as this is our last dc (hopefully!) and i'm making the most of buying pretty, girly things for me her.

mlic i'm sure the amber necklace works! have you had a chance to use yours yet?

dh yes, A is the same. A few weeks ago she'd only smile in the mornings so my dh never got to see her smile!

tsc how's clara doing?

(CakeandRoses)

memphis83 · 19/10/2010 12:12

stac and mlic oh i know they wont visit, our hv will only visit your home until the baby is 3 weeks old maximum, doesnt matter if its something serious or i dont feel strong enough mentally to leave the house after that they dont do home visits. we dont have a drop in health clinic here you have to make an appointment, i just want an app to have him weighed

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/10/2010 12:17

Theres a video on facebook of Dylan laughing, it was taken last night at about 8pm, cheeky monkey!

Chulita · 19/10/2010 12:30

cake I am so Envy that you can count your stretch marks! Hope you don't get mastitis, it's a bitch :(

I'm not into halloween at all, and it's DH's birthday so we usually put a sign up telling people to bog off. Like mlic I don't like anyone coming to the door asking for stuff, and I don't like dressing little children up like witches and devils or even worse, skeletons - there's enough death around without dressing up like it. Call me old fashioned but it creeps me out...

I know why I've not shifted this weight, it's just too easy to sit and eat! Now that S settles pretty well in the evening I'm going to start going out to stuff, I've found aquafit classes nearby and the zumba so I've got to start going.
