Tsc - god, she provides you with some mad stories at least! What a loon!

Are you def not going there again?

Needle · 18/10/2010 00:00

Oh God, tsc she sounds HORRENDOUS! You must have wanted to rip her face off by the time you left. I moan about my mother in law sometimes (she's an absurdly devout Catholic) but I'll think twice about complaining about her now! As for slagging off his name, you should do what DH does- every time my mum does something unreasonable (ie suggesting it might be better if I had an abortion) he writes it in our baby book. She's a lot more careful about what she says if she thinks that one day Gwendolyn will read it.

Cake I don't know what to do for the poor girl- I've never actually met her, as she was just the girlfriend of a friend, but I've been kind of coaching her through her pregancy as she's only 21 and doesn't know anyone who's had a baby apart from her parents. There's not really anything I can do for her accept listen and try to help, but our lives are so different. It just makes me feel so grateful for what I have.

Has everyone had a good weekend? I FINALLY managed to find a winter coat I liked in Sisley, after five weeks of intensive searching. And got an adorable snowsuit for Gwen from John Lewis; white with buttons up the front and grey fur round the hood.

Woodlands- congratulations! What were you being interviewed about?

Urgh. I gave up and bought a really expensive weight loss thing today. It's a belly bootcamp kit by Mamma Mio. I wouldn't have, but the reviews were so good I thought I'd chance it. I'll let you know if it turns out to be any good. I completely know how you feel about being out of shape- I was sooooo thin when I got pregnant, and there is no way I'm ever going to fit back into my old clothes again. I've charity shopped 3 bin bags full. It hurt, but my whole skeleton is bigger than it used to be.

I've only been to Glenelg the once- the bloke I'm with in those photographs is my ex- about three weeks before I dumped him for DH. He did NOT take it well, and I try very hard not to mention or think about him anymore. I ought to get rid of the photos really.
Aaanyway, that's the only time I've been to Glenelg- my exs family used to have a cottage there and they go every year. It's really beautiful though- I'd love to go back, but as it's so small, I'd be too afraid of bumping into my ex and his entire (monstrous) family. Unless your friend works behind the bar in the pub, I probably haven't met him.

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/10/2010 08:57

needle Ive just found the snowsuit on the JL website, its lovely! Im trying to find one for Dylan too. There all over the place at the mo but I cant decide. I want a good quality one to last (even though it'll have to be 3-6 months, so will only last til Jan!)
Also, Im with you on the being so thin before pregnancy, I dont think Ill ever fit into my old jeans :(

tsc your MIL sounds like a right fruitloop, Id hate to stay somewhere like that, she'd make me SOOO Angry

DP and I had another chat about the wedding last night, we're def getting married next year, he's just trying to find the right time to ask me (I think we've done this a bit backwards) but at least I know its going to happen now Grin my pressing questions have obv paid off!

Dylan has been a bit unwell I think, he doesnt have any cold symptoms but he's been really crying which is unlike him and wants to feed (for comfort I guess) all the time. He looks a bit perkier today but he still doesnt really sleep much during the day. Im seeing the HV on Thurs so I might ask her about this. He's fine at night, waking once on a good night, 3 times on a bad one.

Man alive tsc cos Valentine is a great name for a little boy Hmm what a fricking horrible woman, hope you never have to see her again. Hope Clara picks up soon, DD had a vomiting bug just as we were moving so everything was packed up and she kept binning everything all over stuff. It's vile and I hate the way they shake and cry afterwards, breaks my heart!

dh Grin just try and stop thinking about it now so it comes as sort of a surprise!

DD has spent the last 3 hours lying on the couch under a quilt. Anyone with a nearly 2 year old will realise how unusual this is - she didn't eat breakfast, has a temperature and keeps grunting :( I've given her Calpol, I hope that's all she needs...

I've started putting Sam down after about 1.5 hours awake. Yesterday and today it seemed to work, he whinged for a bit and then fell asleep, maybe I need to make sure he's down more often. He threw up every single feed yesterday :( Off to the doctor's tomorrow and I'm going to really, really push for Ranitidene. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't make a difference.

Anyone know anything about baby poos? Sam hadn't pooed since last Monday and then did one today that wasn't very big and was a kind of brown water rather than the usual bf yellow with bits in...not sure why that is

kkfairybrains · 18/10/2010 10:21

Aw tsc poor clara. Hope she gets better soon. My god granny sounds like the ultimate Nightmare. Hats off to you for sirviving it! what a horrible thing to say to poor little frankie
needles your poor friend how awful. Imagine being 8 months pg and finding that out. You'd feel so so lonely! Poor gir
l
hows ds feeding been mlic?
Laughin at ellie here i have her laying on the floor and shes throwning her self up onto her side! and shes moving that much! shes managed to get herself round 180°! shes started rubbing her comforter on her face when she going to sleep at night now too!

Chulita · 18/10/2010 10:35

Ooh needle let us know how it goes :) I've got the Julie Tupler 'lose your mummy tummy' book but although I've read it a few times it hasn't worked Wink I should crack on and try what she suggests, my stomach is like rice pudding in a plastic bag!

Needle · 18/10/2010 10:49

mlic, can I be in your gang?
We put gwen down at half nine, she was up at 1, 2.30, 4 (and didn't go back down till 6) then again at 8. She's not stopped feeding since 8, so I'm still in bed having had almost no sleep. This is new ground for me ladies!

dh, thank you. We're planning at least 4 children, so we wanted a neutral one that we can use again. It's awful feeling big isn't it? I've been on and off annorexic since I was 16 so pregnancy was sooo hard. Dh has said that when we finally finish having kids I can have whatever treatment I want, and I'll probably have hgc hormone treatment if its still going to kick myself back into shape. We're hoping for twins so that I can be done by the time I'm 30!

Sending lots of Love to all the poorly children. It's so scary when they're sick.

mlic, I'm with you on the marriage front- I'm one of those weird women who's never wanted to do ANYTHING but get married and have kids, so I'm I. Heaven. Atm.

Chulita · 18/10/2010 11:01

needle we'd like 4 too, and I'd love twins next just so we can be done by 30 too...I had my fingers crossed S would be twins but with this reflux crap I'm sooo glad he's just the one!

mlic our boys could be twins...when S actually feeds he then bins it all about an hour later. He's such a tiny little boy, I'd love him to have big chubby cheeks!

He's sat in his crappy rainforest swing at the mo and I hung a bfing necklace over the top of it. He loves grabbing it and shaking it, the bells tinkle away and he's happy for about 10 mins...bliss!

And I'm with you both on the marriage front. Our wedding was really simple and hardly cost a thing but everyone was there, we had more food than we could eat and we absolutely loved it. I'd do it again in a flash if I could get away with it Grin and I love being married to DH, he's gloriously fab [basks in post-actually-enjoyable-hanky-panky glow] Blush

Lol! Grin 1st enjoyable evening since S appeared on the scene so nothing too amazing!
I've heard of wedding dress evenings where girl friends get together and go out for a meal all wearing their wedding dresses...sounds so much fun, I can't bring myself to get rid of mine but I'm never going to wear it again.

stac14 · 18/10/2010 11:49

hey ladies

What a bitch your mil is tsc and valentine he would be bullied forever. Just cos she taught a frankie who was a shit doesnt mean she can compare your boy to that. Hope you dont have to go back there. Poor you and clara, hope shes better soon. Great news bout dd1 with college. Dp and i would probs marry for a practical reason too. Rileigh is 14lbs 15oz and 66cm

That is so shit bout your friend needles what a low life. I'm also hating my post pg body, i have been doing 3 classes a week and havent lost a pound, they think its the mini pill. Wow 4 kids we have 3 between us but step ds only stays at weekends. Everyone thinks we will have another soon but i'm having the coil fitted on wednesday so no more for us.

mlic you are doing a wonderful job with w he weighs the same as rileigh and she eats loads. She is being weaned at 17wks as it helps the reflux

chulita the ranitadine has been great for us, the carobel can be given to bf babies as a paste so may be worth asking for that too. Also babies with reflux dont like lying down as the acid moves up, we were told to keep rileigh sitting up for 20mins after feed and make sure her head is raised in bed by putting a towel under her mattress

Great news bout wedding dh cant wait to hear your plans

kk ellies doing fab cant believe how much our babies have changed think i forgot all this with jack

at other ladies, my nappy brain has me forgetting half of whats been said. R and i have the cold, she's ok but hot and just unsettled. I have a terrible so throat and want to sleep. Love to everyone and babies who are ill x

Chulita · 18/10/2010 12:32

stac how long did it take for the ranitidene to start working?

I just spent an hour catching up with Desperate Housewives and expressing (Sam's not fed properly today) what a life!

stac14 · 18/10/2010 12:57

about 2wks and now the dose is upped she's been sick again over the past couple of days but it will settle down worth a try. The cons said its the best meds for reflux, if doc refuses to prescribe ask for a referal to a peadiatrician, s shouldnt be bringing up every feed x
