The problem is that we're right in the centre of London, on the river, so he could have gone absolutely anywhere, been knocked down. dh searched till 5am, but there's no sign, so I think we might have seen the last of him :(

I feel like a 70s feminist who has stumbled into an enclave of 50s housewives! ;-)

mlic it was a bit easier for me as F appears to take after me and is no strangers to accessories - dh worries he's going to rival Paris Hilton when he's older ;-) I just gave it a big build-up when I first put it on him, asking if he wanted to wear a new necklace (necklace was one of his first words!) Even dh thinks it works despite his misgivings about more accessorising!

needle got everything crossed for the safe return of your dog

OpensCryptandRises · 24/10/2010 11:28

tsc that does sound very cushy and cool! Loved the sound of the calf lick air freshener! Can I have one which smells of regurgitated milk please?

I've got a similar problem when I return to work as although I still have a contract, I don't have a specific role to go back to anymore and I don't think a new one will match my old one for cushiness/coolness!

Before I left for maternity leave before F, I got paid very well for waddling around trendy london design agencies, scoffing delicious veggie food they'd had sent in for me and then doing a roman emperor style thumbs-up/down to what I was being shown. Sooo taxing ;-)

OpensCryptandRises · 24/10/2010 11:34

Oh and today's plans consist of:

Trying to catch up on sleep when F goes down for his nap shortly

Walking into town to rent a dvd and then dh is going to take F to the park to burn off some energy whilst I buy dh a birthday card and then walk back with A to make the most of a peaceful house before they descend on us again.

Then we'll attempt to get F to not do 2yo stuff whilst we watch the film.

Then cook and eat a huge roast dinner.

Perfect sunday imo!

mlic what veggie delight will you be serving today? Need inspiration.

update: F is NOT obliging by going down quietly. In his defence he is still laying in his bed but is singing and cheering to himself. He also didn't wake up this morning til 8.10am Shock so i guess may not be tired but he's damn well having that nap!

Yum diddly to your dinner. What brand of fake chicken do you use mlic?

Chulita, we had lentil and bacon soup on monday, it was gorgeous. The pork was pretty spesh, I have too say- good old reliable Nigella. the recipe, for those carnivores among us, can be found here. Everyone's dinner sounds fab.

No sign of the dog. Going to try Battersea Dogs' Home tomorrow, but it's very unlikely now that he'll turn up. Hubby is heartbroken, he played doggy midwife when he was being born.

stac14 · 24/10/2010 23:24

aw needles hope you get your doggy back, its horrible when they do a runner your so attached to them

Quite right mlic i'd say the same, dp had a habit of chatting to r during the night so i said if he didnt stop then he was staying up with her. Did dh have both boys? How did he find it?

tsc when you had the coil were your periods extremely heavy?

mlic when dd cries in the night I go in, give her back her Bear which has inevitably done a runner, give her a kiss and close the door. Sometimes she just goes to sleep, other times she cries for ages but unless she's unwell I don't give her any more time. Ok, so I'm not sleeping but I'm also not letting her know that night time is cuddle time.

S fed at 1, then woke at 4 for a feed and didn't want to go back to sleep til 6 then dd was up so no chance of any more sleep. I've got a cold too, headache, drips and aches, just want to go back to bed but dd's not going to let that happen!

Thanks for that recipe needle I'm tempted to try it!

stac14 · 25/10/2010 08:20

Poor you chulita its crap being unwell when you have lo's to look after

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/10/2010 08:40

Oh god mlic sorry your night was so shit, but its nice to know Im not the only one that had a awful night.

Dylan fed at 10, woke at 1, the 3:45. I then tried to put him back in his moses basket twice but both times he woke up and needed my boob to go back to sleep and I know for a fact he A wasnt hungry and B wasnt even taking anything down. I then left him in our bed and he fell sound asleep Hmm but then I couldnt get back to sleep and I had very bad period pains and think I finally dropped off around half 5.
I cried myself to sleep :( dp must have heard cos he gave me a cuddle but Im just so annoyed that he wont go back in his moses basket even tho he starts the night off in there.

So, he's got his jabs today but once he is better from those I want to teach him to self settle cos Im just getting no sleep.
I need your tips ladies, those of you who taught your babies to do this and preferably are ebf. How the hell did you do it?!

Chulita · 25/10/2010 09:15

dh you won't like my way! I let S cry himself to sleep if he needs to (which is a lot). I rarely leave him longer than 10 mins (unless I can't help it) but especially if he's not feeding but just wants cuddles/sucking time, I pop him down and leave him when I do go back it's just to calm him down and then I leave him again. It helps that dd needs seeing to so I'm not sat on my arse listening to him cry! This morning I put him back in his cot at 4.30 and went back to bed. I heard him fussing til 6 so I wasn't sleeping but he wasn't crying, he was grizzling. Tbh, babies do what they want on the whole, what works for one doesn't work for another. I tried letting DD cry it out when she was little and it didn't work, she just never ever gave up!
