and you are up awfully early LOTI Grin. We went to bed about midnight and DH was snoring SO loudly Hmm. I think i lay there for about 45 mins and then gave up. Work stuff was going through my head as i lay there so i got up and did some of that! Poor DD2 though, no idea Sad. Have you tried offering her a banana or something just before bed? Might be worth a shot?

Just despatched DH to the train station as he has an urgent meeting before the wedding today Hmm. Luckily it is 5 mins from his office so we will go and pick him up later

Men are so funny aren't they Spring? Hmm

pertelote · 06/08/2010 09:20

I was going to complain about getting up at 6 but I see I am far from the worst off Blush. Poor you Loti and poor DD2 - hope you can get to the bottom of it.

Thanks for the advice on bedtime. I don't think I explained it well, maybe I'm completely deluded and PFB-ish but she seems to be upset/scared - not pretending/manipulating or testing boundaries. I suppose if she dropped her nap then she might be too exhausted by bedtime to worry about whatever it is.

Spring that would make me very cross indeed. Mummies go 'chatter chatter' is bad enough but that is Not Funny Angry

oopsandbabycoconuts · 06/08/2010 09:36

Morning all

Last night must have been the night for it - DD1 was awake at 4am just needing cuddles and was truely scared of something. I squeezed into her bed with her (normal width but short!) and we snuggled a bit but she didn't fall asleep again until 6am. I moved into my room at 6 taking her with me and we both fell asleep about 40mins later and E woke us at 8. This morning I discovered that her first big 2 year old molar is through too.

LOTI - it is this age they start having night terrors suddenly things become more real, their emerging independance and discovering things can make for some very scary dreams.

Back later DD2 hungry DD1 wanting shoes Hmm

MrsMiamla · 06/08/2010 09:39

pert we went through a very similar stage with DS a couple of weeks ago. He'd wake up screaming, sit bolt upright in bed and it took a fair while to calm him down. This would happen two or three times a night. It would seem its a phase they're going through. We're now on the otherside of it (i hope!) and he's back to going to sleep at a reasonable time and sleeping through the night

cyteen · 06/08/2010 10:50

How strange, DS woke twice in the night as well - scared and crying. There must be something eldritch in the air. The second time he woke, I was having a dream about ghost children so it was all very eek-making.

lwfh and cc have a brilliant time today, unfortunately I am stuck at work. Whatever happened to the irresponsible sicky-chucker of yore?

CaptainCaveman · 06/08/2010 10:50

mORNING, 6.40 wake up here so no complaints from me.
So far we've watched TV,played sticklebricks, made some cakes (packet mix, no glory for me!)and brushed our teeth.

Can't find my spare camera battery as the one I have won't seem to charge up (tried 2 different chargers Hmm)

TS you are correct in your translations Grin

Loti my eyes hurt at the sound of your early start!

crispy enjoy the wedding

Pert I can't offer any help with the putting to bed I'm afraid, I'm rubbish at letting little ones go to sleep on their own Blush

CaptainCaveman · 06/08/2010 10:51

cyteen you grew up and got sensible Shock Don't work toooo hard, we will miss you though

Might as well add our names to the list...
R woke crying out around 5A. I went in and changed her pull-up and covered her back up. She rolled over back into dream land. Both girls are still sleeping now (7:15A).

My nose is stuff so I've not slept well at all. Much to do today if I get my act together. Kitchen is a wreck. I've been ignoring it will catching up on the laundry. It helps that we've gone out to eat mostly lately. I also need to make a proper grocery list.Hmm Paid bills this morning already while DH kept hitting his snooze button.Hmm

Crisper have fun at the wedding. Please dance a bit for me.Smile

Captain kiddy translations are my forte.Wink

MrsMiamla · 06/08/2010 14:35

i don't see any bad mummies around here loti, and I'll bet your DDs agree with me!

yes vg, thanks for your very helpful suggestions!!!

ts calm down girl, nothing's definite yet but we're moving in the right direction now he's said he likes it!

oopsandbabycoconuts · 06/08/2010 15:29

Miamla - DH spent a good few weeks being unsure of DD2's name once she arrived but now he loves it as it suits her perfectly. He said it was okay but he got used to it. We hadn't decided on her name at all until she was lying on me.I went in determined she was going to be Katya!

LOTI - if you are a bad mummy so am I - DD currently watching Peppa Pig eating a bowl of popcorn and raisins.

oopsandbabycoconuts · 06/08/2010 15:31

Miamla - you could also give her an 'E' initial then she could be P E A H Pea for short :)

dizzydixies · 06/08/2010 15:45
