CrispyTheCrisp · 07/08/2010 08:36

Good grief cece who is it???

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/08/2010 08:40

Oh, and i meant to say thankyou to longway for making me reconsider our childcare and the 'which to put in place first' work or childcare dilemma. Given that i have had some work (which may or may not lead to more) we have rebooked DD2 back into the CM on a Thurs until Xmas (had dropped to 1 day). This means from Sept i will have 2 days available to work as DD1 will be at preschool those days.

Fingers x'd i get more work, or i have just spent what i will earn on this job on childcare LOL

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/08/2010 08:41

See now i am on a TS roll.......

oopsandbabycoconuts · 07/08/2010 08:47

There is a picture of Boris Johnson over ==> on my screen, DD just asked who he was and I told her who he was. Her reply - 'I want to cry mummy' :)

Loti - Tell her she can't stay over but if she needs her boyfriend can drop her before the BBQ but she will need to amuse herself and the DDs whilst you prepare for guests. She may re-think her plans.

Crispy - You sqiffy?? never!

Please stop by at mine for the Dizzytour

DH gone to buy papers and latte to go with the porrige for breakfast.

oopsandbabycoconuts · 07/08/2010 08:48

Cece - missed you there, Morning :) Who is the man?

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/08/2010 08:53

I know oops. Surprised me too WinkGrin

Mmmmm porridge sounds good. Off to eat......

luckoftheirish · 07/08/2010 09:00

oooh cece fill us in GrinGrin..

thanks for your advice ladies, gonna to tell she cannot stay tonight, i've got too much on have been working really hard all week to make it nice for dd2, so she will have to fit in or not!!

CaptainCaveman · 07/08/2010 09:06

Alas, he's just left. Dh's old friend from Uni. I may be married, but i'm not blind Grin Wink

cyteen · 07/08/2010 09:49

Heh, incidental perving, love it Grin

Sod booking a minibus, we need to charter a private jet and take everyone to a Chattanooga beach party.

MrsMiamla · 07/08/2010 10:21

minibus? jet? i'm not fussy! just make sure its got my postcode in the route planner Grin

cc how exciting Wink i love your expression 'i may be married but i'm not blind' I'm going to try and remember that one!

loti you are absolutely not being unreasonable!!

i've just been informed that bagpuss would like some toast to eat! its not for DS, honest!! not sure if i told you all but yday he found a bagpuss vhs, and instead of faffing with cables for the video player, we watched it on you tube. DS absolutely loved it and has been asking repeatedly for more 'wake up meow' (for those that haven't seen it, Bagpuss is a saggy old baggy old cloth cat that gets woken up by his owner, Emily, at the beginning of each episode) Well last night, i found my old toy bagpuss, stuck it in the wash and as soon as DS saw it this morning, it has been cuddled since! i'm pretty sure its still wet from being washed but he'll soon dry with enough cuddles Smile
I think DS has found his new best friend!

as for Pea, she's still where she's meant to be but yes, still lots of tightenings but i fully appreciate we could be having a few weeks of this so don't get too excited just yet!

mw meant to be popping round before 12 today with the home birth kit... so what time do we reckon she'll turn up?!

hmm, i'd better go and investigate what's going on in the other room.. DH seems to have fallen asleep on the sofa and DS is trying to get him to read a book!

laters ladies

TwilightSurfer · 07/08/2010 12:25

Cyteen I'll alert the local airport. We have one just down the road ya know.Wink

Lucky You are on target with the bored with mommy idea. I things will change in a few weeks once she's settled back into school.

Miamla I am now waiting on pins and needles for your news every day. Funny how well I remember the same feelings this time two years ago.

Captain true marriage does not cause blindness.Wink

Crispy sounds like it was a fun wedding. Nice work on the childcare. Honestly I'm excited about my 3 mornings a week starting in September.

Oops

time to shower and head to pilates. DH is working tomorrow so I have to go today. I'll be going a lot this week if things work out correctly. Plus I'll be going to a mini master class next Sunday while DH is out of town. THANK YOU BABYSITTER! It's not the 5 day thing but nice just the same.

R is standing beside me now going "Git Up!" "Come On!"

Birthday party done! Was panicking this morning as we had a thunderstorm - not too handy when you're having a beach party. Anyway it cleared up and was cloudy which was probably the best scenario as it wasn't ridiculously hot and sunny. DS had a great time and was singing happy birthday as I put him to bed. Lots of the other parents thought it was a great venue and said they wanted to book too. I will post pictures on fb soon. Am tired but pleased it went well.

TS hugs to you.

Loti think you did the right thing.

We're off to the zoo in the morning.

Happy Birthday to the other 08/08/08ers M,E and Thor for tomorrow!

GladioliBuckets · 07/08/2010 16:48

Loti Is this your stepSis or stepD?Confused Could you also say that you and DH are having some probs so you don't really want to do more hospitality than necessary? Just in case she's likely to take offence (pg hormones and all.)

In Cornwall, stuffed (thanks Rick Stein) and shattered in a truly charming house. Wonder how long we will be able to rent 2 bedroom holiday homes for...

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/08/2010 19:26

Yay Spring. Glad you had a lovely time & well done for organising a party. DD1 had 3 friends for tea, but DD2 will miss out because i am lazy we are away.

Buckets Envy re Rick Stein

Have just phoned the chinese and they are not answering Hmm. Probably away on holiday or some other preposterous excuse. DH has suggested curry but I WANT CHINESE. I have been working all day and want a nice treat. Curry not the same for some reason Hmm

TS enjoy your pilates Smile. Any more thoughts on becoming an instructor?

cyteen · 07/08/2010 20:29

Evening all :) Just passing through really as I am in the mood for an early night with the Saturday papers Hmm Hope everyone has had good days.

Just wanted to record this somewhere: this morning DS and I were looking at a Charlie and Lola book and he pointed to a picture of Marv's dog and very clearly said 'Sizzles' Grin Then at teatime we were all eating sausages and mash, and he suddenly pointed at my sausage with his fork and said 'sizzles' Grin

Also, while getting ready for bed he twice sat on the potty, pointed into it and said 'poo'. I am very proud mummy today :)

pertelote · 07/08/2010 21:09

Aw Cyteen yay for J! Clever boy Smile

We were at a very rainy birthday party today. Forecast for tomorrow is better so fingers crossed, we have invited slightly more people than would be quite comfortable indoors... Presents are wrapped, balloons have arrived, fridge is full, toy pig extracted from present as that seems like the easiest safest way to make 'piggy cake' as requested... What else should I be doing? Confused

CeCe I also had a random man in the house last night though sadly not such an exciting one as yours Wink - a colleague of DH's en route from Malaysia to Sweden who arrived at Stansted and discovered his 'connecting' flight wasn't actually for 24 hours. He seemed quite content with the living room floor and emergency brunch overlooking the Olympic site (standard outing for out of towners at the moment)...

Hugs to TS, Crispy hope you found a way to get your Chinese, Loti well done for putting your foot down, Buckets enjoy Cornwall... and Miamla I feel like I need to start saying that if it all kicks off before I get back on here, GOOD LUCK!!!

And very happy eight eights to S, E and Thor. Have fab days all of you. Grin Mwah

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 07/08/2010 21:21

Hi, happy birthday to all I have missed Blush so sorry. and to all the birthdays tomorrow Smile

Trying to catch up on last thread, and now too tired to post, and eyes are stinging.

Thinking of you miamla Smile

TwilightSurfer · 07/08/2010 21:27

Hmm I must be loosing my mind. I typed a post and it's not amongst the posted. HmmHmm

Singapore I'm so glad you're party was a hit.

Crisper I don't have the available time over the next 12 months to put in the required hours for certification. Once you take the first step there's a counter that starts. Maybe in a few years. For now I'll take things here and there to further my own practice.

Speaking of practice, my pilates class was off the charts today. It was a level 2 but seriously it was a level 5. OMG! I had trouble with balance and transitions. One exercise has us teamed up with another classmate. I've never laughed so hard in my life.Grin

Cyteen your J is so smart!!! Grin

Pertelote best wishes for tomorrow! I'm sure it will be perfect!!! Smile

DD1 playing mommy today with her baby dolls. She told me she wants to be like Shrek's Fiona. HmmGrin Oh and when she grows up and has a baby of her own she wants it to be a boy.Hmm

Captain regarding the hair issue. A friend explained she was loosing her hair and after a blood test she learned she was lacking in copper. After further review she found out her copper deficiency is because she's taking a daily dose of zinc. She was trying to be healthy and had no idea that constantly taking the zinc was bad. Have you had a blood test yet? Also a hairdresser relative was chatting about keratin use and how it causes hair loss as well. Keratin is used in straightening/anti-frizz hair care products. By chance to you use any?

Any body reading or read EAT PRAY LOVE?

evening all
just popping on to tell you I haven't done the bump to baby conversion course yet Smile

cyteen, yay, well done J!

hi ts, well done on your advanced level Pilates today

helloooooo no1 and pert

crisp, hope you got your chinese..nothing like really wanting something and then finding out you can't have it

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/08/2010 22:20

Cyteen, i am thinking J said Sazzles, no? Grin. Being a proud parent is the best feeling Smile

OMG Pert you sound SO organised. Lucky little M Smile. You will all have a fab day and the sun will shine.

TS i have heard it is hard toil to do it and LOADS of hours, hence the prices they can charge for instruction.

. Lovely to see you. Don't stay away so long next time Sad

I have spent the evening setting up all my accounts stuff for the business. I tell you what i will be mightily peed off if this is just a one off assignment Hmm

Worked pretty much all day as i really want to keep to our holiday plans of Tues. Managed a bath with the girls this evening and reading stories which was nice. DH has been fab and done washing/shopping/cooking and childcare, without being asked Shock. Girls went to bed beautifully as knackered after very late one last night.

Happy Birthday to S, M, E and Thor
