How do you know I don't read the daily mail, given this is a discussion on the horrific killing of Ann Widdecombe, and you yourself thought so. It's a speculation article that I find distasteful.

Certainly not ghoulish speculation surrounding the horrific killing of a well known older female politician. You however are very happy to do that.

An article in the Telegraph gives a few details supposedly from the neighbours of the arrested man. Not saying this is right but I wouldn't say it's speculation.

Posting a headline along the lines of “suspect drove 300 miles with a foot long stick” or whatever that article claimed (paraphrasing from post above) is nothing but speculation.

Nothing of the sort has been released by the police. All there is is the account of some random member of the public claiming to be a neighbour whose neighbour was arrested, and now the tabloids have invented that headline.

Anyone who sees that as anything other than speculation is deluded or lacking inteligence.

All I will say is why didn't the neighbours give the police whatever information they know. Why go to the Mail?

How do you know they haven't also spoken to the police? I'm pretty sure the police will have gone door to door.

Would the police not caution them about speaking to the press during a live murder investigation?

Fair point. Even if that is the case, the neighbours are basically monetising Ann Widdecombe's murder. It's not great, is it?

I can imagine anyone speaking to the media may not always have the best interests of the case at heart.

If they were paid. I think a lot of people are happy to speak to the press regardless, particularly if they get their faces on telly.

If they live in Rotherham, they will likely be UC claimants
